Paying the price for her father's failed mission, Clara's world is turned upside down. Under the guise of protection, she's caged behind walls, forbidden to set foot in the outside world. But rebellious as they come, Clara has her moments, nights when she slips away to let loose at her favourite spot. One lucky night, she finds a guy who has it all...the looks...the charisma...the dominance. But the following day, Clara's house is invaded by a group of thugs, their leader being the same man who she slept with, as well as the one person whom her father fears to the point of hiding: Kasan Viper. And it so happens that he wants her in exchange for sparing the lives of her parents. Besides Kasan's ever-changing personality and the strange way he could bend her mind without uttering a single word, there was also something mysterious about him...he can smell things normal humans can't, his eyes change colors every once in a while and his strength is far beyond human capabilities! What will happen when she finds out that he's not only a mafia boss, but also an Alpha?!
Chapter 1
"Clara..." I did not answer. "Clara..." I did not answer. “Just how long do you plan to keep this up?” Silence. “Fine! Do as you please, however, you'd better not play your little games with me. The next time you leave this house, it’ll be the last straw.” My short-tempered, sad-excuse of a father stormed off while Mom's presence lingered persistently in the hall. “We're only trying to protect you… You understand that, right?” She breathed, hands pressed against the door. She waited hopefully but when the response she wanted never came, she sighed, retreating down the hall. I glared at the door. Once again, I’d rejected their attempt at 'consoling' me. They wanted me to break the silent treatment but I wasn’t going to, for neither of them deserved a word from my lips. My father, Robby Henry was a coward, a fool who instigated a war only to run away from it. It started with a job, an assassination job. Robby had one shot and fumbled miserably. Now we are runaway gang members, fugitives who foolishly messed with that renowned devil, Kasan Viper. Power, money, people…he lacks nothing of the sort. The man was feared more than death itself, everyone in these parts knows full well that he always hits back ten-fold. His strikingly angelic appearance clashed with his eyes as cold as ice; one glance could bring anyone to their knees. Many have never met him before, but those who have, only managed to whisper his name behind closed doors. That’s why, my father should’ve known exactly what he was dealing with before he touched that blazing fire. Not even a full week after his bold assassination attempt, his men have been gunned down. All that’s left is us. And as if that's not enough, all their money went towards patching up broken alliances, however, they’ve abandoned us completely. Now here we are, broke and in the middle of nowhere. That said, I know the danger, I know exactly what’ll happen if I’m caught. But even so, Father can’t keep me locked up forever! I wrapped my auburn hair into a messy bun and pushed off the bed, blue eyes skimming over the clock hanging on the wall. Three hours. That's all I have before the club closes for the night. Having been stuck toying with guns and knives all my life, this must be my belated rebellious phase. Last straw, father said. Then we’ll just have to see. I am not a prisoner and I'm no criminal either. I should have control over my own life. They call it ‘protecting’ but I know what my father dreads more than death is showing his sorry-*ss face now that he failed a mission he swore he could handle. “Pathetic.” The mumble passed my lips as an unruly lock slipped over my eye. “He’s pathetic.” I turned and looked in the mirror, tucking it behind my ear. I’m too much of a rogue for this hide and seek b*llsh*t. Kasan Viper can go to hell. I steered my gaze to the rack behind my reflection, admiring the pretty red dress that hung there. It’s probably the only thing I have left that costs more than a few bills after father sold everything else. And it's my outfit tonight! - ||At the night club|| Under the colored lights of a huge party ball, a man who went by the name ‘Tan’ slithered his hands over the thin fabric covering my body, his lips leaving sloppy, openmouthed kisses along my neckline as I stood still, sandwiched between the wall and his sweaty body. “I-Is this okay?” He roamed downwards, touching the left cheek of my *ss. I groaned, not in pleasure but in annoyance. He was boring me, to be frank. Drunk, yet he still had his decency. That's nice and all but why must I be treated as frail glass? I met Tan after sneaking out and arriving here at the club. I had been sitting at the bar when he came up to me, reeking of alcohol and his body swaying across the floor. We exchanged names and kick started the small talk. Then somehow, we became like this half an hour later. Now, I regretted not ignoring him. Oblivious to my displeasure, Tan kissed all over my face before his eyes dropped to my lips. His adam’s apple bobbed when he leaned in, slowly connecting his with mine. He moved hesitantly, molding our lips together while I stood there stiffly. His eyes closed while mine remained wide open. And his hands explored my body while mine lay limp at my sides. I was just there, annoyed. Maybe I should head back home. Its almost closing time anyway. Frowning, I swept my gaze over the club. Like any other night, there were those close to having s*x on spot and those who were sweating like pigs as they danced. What we were doing wasn’t anything strange, it didn’t warrant much attention actually, yet across the room and sitting at the booth, was a man who stared right at us, well, at me. I’d never seen him before…a newcomer, maybe? But handsome was an understatement. Who the hell was he?
Chapter 2
Dressed in a blue dress pants and a white shirt, his tie hung loose around his neck with his jacket draped over the back of his seat. His attire and those broad shoulders of his, screamed nothing but authority. And just above his elbow where he had rolled up his sleeve, was a tattoo of an animal of some sort…maybe a lion? Or a wolf? I couldn't say what exactly since I couldn’t see it clearly from this distance. Was he a part of some gang too? I stared back at him, the intensity not even close to his own. He hadn't said a single word, yet his gaze spoke volumes. He was angry, livid actually but swirling within those fiery ebony eyes of his, were hints of raw desire… I didn’t understand the sudden urge to bare my neck, to completely submit to his will, but I couldn’t just ignore the attraction. I wanted to go to him. Its as if this dashing stranger had me under some sort of hypnosis. I’d never felt like this before, but it wasn't unpleasant. I pressed my palm against Tan’s
