The Alpha's Wailing Banshee

" Mommy, where are you taking me to? Mommy, I'm scared. Let's go back now. ”

Five year old Freya kept struggling to unleash her hand from her mother's hold as she sobbed and whispered silently, but her mother left Freya's pleas and sobs on deaf ears and led her farther and deeper into the woods. She halted in her tracks when they got further enough and turned back to Freya with a very bright smile on her face as she let go of Freya's hand.

“ Freya honey, mommy is going to take a look at something right over there, so be a good girl and wait for mommy here."

She squat in front of Freya and tuck in Freya's loose hair strands behind her ears as she gently caressed Freya's cheeks which were tainted with her tears. Freya started to shake her head aggressively she wanted to talk but she feared she could hurt her mom with whatever word she utters next, so she started to sob more and held tight her mother's hand.

“ Freya, be a good girl and wait for me okay, I'll be back in a minute. ” 

Freya's mother stood up and started to walk away from little Freya who look terrified to be left alone in the woods

“ Mommy stop! Don't go! "

Freya yelled and her mother stood still not moving, she started to grunt in pain and curse beneath her breath.

“ Ahhhh ~ Freya you're hurting me, you cursed child! Release me now Freya, or are you planning on killing me? ”

She cried out loud which made Freya clasp her mouth shut with both her hands in worry and her mother turn back to her in anger.

“ Freya just listen to mommy okay just wait for me I'llll be back, okay let's play a game Freya. You're going to play a game of hide and seek with mommy, you like that right? ”

Her mother smile and ask Freya which took all her fears away and she nod her head.

“ See those trees there mommy is going to hide behind them and you're going to count to twenty before you start seeking me out, sounds fun right ”

Freya smile brightly and her mother caressed her cheeks, she stood still and stare at her mom from behind as she disappear into the trees. Freya counted to twenty as her mom instructed her to and she run to the trees after seeking out her mom, Freya search behind the trees for her mom but she was no where there, so Freya started to panic and search farther and deeper for her mom. Freya wondered deeper in the woods for hours in search of her mom who had abandoned and left her in the woods all alone

“ Mommy ..... Mommy where you? ..... Mommy please don't leave me here ..... take me with you ”

Freya sob and call out for her mom silently as the day started to get over and the woods get dark, she continued to walk not knowing where she was or where she was going. Freya saw a shadow not far from where she was and she started to run towards the shadow thinking it was her mum, when she got closer she saw a man and woman who were caged by a wild wolf as it slowly walk around them and growl menace at them. 

The wolf sensed her and started to pounce towards her direction and Freya started to shiver in fear, her eye color which was a light blue color turn deep blue and she scream. The wolf started to slow down in it's advance towards her and it fell lifeless on the ground even the birds which flew closer to her all fell lifeless around her, the people who were caged by the wolf had curl up on the ground with their hands over their ears as blood ooze out of their ears.

Freya's body run cold out of fear and exhaustion and she fell unconscious on the ground, the man and woman slowly got themselves up and walk over to her as the woman quickly pick up Freya's unconscious body and place Freya's head on her laps and the man slowly scan the dead wolf's body and look at Freya terrified.

“ Mia get away from her that child is dangerous ”

Mia stare daggers at him for saying that as she tuck the hair strands away from Freya's unconscious face.

" She's just a child Gerald, let's take her back maybe her parents are searching for her worried sick. "

" For pete sake Mia, just why on earth will a child be roaming around in a place like this in the first place. I don't need to tell you she is abandoned her to die right and that child is dangerous, just look at how bloody the wolf is with just her screams. You and I are lucky to get away with just bloody ears. "

Gerald said to her worriedly as Freya started to stir up on Mia's laps, tears started to fall down her cheeks as she sob silently in her sleep and Mia brought her into a motherly embrace.

" Gerald might I remind you that she just saved both you and I, if truly her parents left her here because of whatever she is then I want her. Let's adopt her Gerald, c'mon would you leave her here if she was actually your daughter? "

" But Mia she's .... "

" It doesn't matter we'll figure it out together, please let's not be heartless and leave this poor innocent child here in this deep forest. please honey, "

Gerald felt conflicted as he wasn't so heartless as to leave Freya in the woods but at the same time he feared her to death, he sigh and agree with his wife to take Freya home and they did.

Freya jolt her eyes open as the sun shine shine brightly and harshly on her face, she slowly adjust her sleepy eyes to her surrounding and she started to panic, everything felt foreign as she didn't know where she was or who's bed she just woke up from. 

Suddenly there was a knock on the door and Mia and Gerald walk into the room which made Freya became alerted and was in more panic, they quickly stop in their tracks as they saw how uneasy Freya was and they both slowly raise up their hands.

" Don't be scared sweety we just want to see how you're doing, you lost consciousness so we brought you home with us. Do you remember us? You saved us last night. "

Mia slowly said to her in a very low tone and Freya nod her head before she relaxed a bit.

" Can we come to you? We won't do anything you don't like, okay sweety. "

They slowly walk to Freya and Mia sat at the edge of the bed while Gerald stood beside her with his arms folded across his chest.

" What is your name and what where you doing alone in the forest at that time? Where are your parents? "

Mia worriedly ask her but Freya kept her mouth shut tight as tears started to slide down her cheeks. Mia slowly stretch her hand towards Freya as she attempt wipe away her tears but Freya quickly move back in horror

“ Stop ~ ”

Freya yell at her which made her stop half way and grunt as she couldn't move, Gerald worriedly held unto her when she started to look pained and she grunt more.

" Mia are you okay? You're hurting her stop what you're doing! "

He worriedly said to Freya in anger as he glare at her and she clasp her mouth with her hands, Mia breath out heavily when she was released from Freya's command and she stare at Freya terrified and shocked but her fears were swept away when she was met with Freya's terrified and teary eyes.

" Sweety I'm okay it wasn't your fault, I'll go bring you your breakfast now and if you want to use the bathroom it's over there okay. "

Mia said to Freya and point to the bathroom before she stood up from the bed and drag Gerald outside with her. They went to the living room as Gerald took a seat in the couch and in deep thought, Mia quickly put together Freya's breakfast and took it to her before returning to the living and took a seat besides Gerald.

" Mia we really can't have her here, you almost died with just a word from her mouth. I don't think her parents will even want her back, let's just take her to the " police station they'll think of what to do with her. "

" No way, she's just scared let's not do unto her what her parents have done to her. For the love of God she's only a child Gerald, think of her as your own daughter. I think if we find a way to communicate with her we can find a way to help her live like a normal person, but for now let's not make a haste decision. Let's let her stay with us for sometime and if she's still a danger for us I'll agree with whatever you decide to do but if she can control whatever ability that is then we'll go ahead and adopt her as our own. "

Mia argued with Gerald until he finally agreed with her condition, they gave Freya some couple of hours to calm herself down before they walk back to Freya who was still sitting on the bed and hadn't touch the breakfast which Mia had taken to her. Freya got startled when she sensed their presence and she went on alert again which made them raise their hands up.

" It's just us okay, we came to ask you some questions but you don't need to talk or say anything. See I brought a book and a pen you can write it down right? "

Mia quickly said to her and place the book and pen at Freya's feet before she took a seat at the edge of the bed and Gerald sat on the chair in the room, Freya slowly pick up the book and pen before nodding her head and Mia smile warmly to her.

" Sorry I didn't introduce myself earlier, I'm Mia Marshall and this is my husband Gerald Marshall. What about you, what is your name? "

She ask Freya with a bright smile and Freya open the book she was given and started to scribble on it with the pen.

" Hello Mr and Mrs Marshall, my name is Freya. "

She turn and pass the book to Mia who felt so happy, Mia pass the book back to Freya as she smile more brightly.

" Okay Freya, why where you in the forest that late and where are your parents? "

Freya started to write down what she wanted to say to the Marshalls.

" Mommy said to play hide and seek but I couldn't seek her out after she hid, I want to go to mommy I listened to her so I'm a good girl now she won't be mad " anymore.

" You were with your mom? okay Freya for now you're going to stay with us for the meantime we'll ask around for your mom, if you need anything just write it down okay. Since you haven't had your breakfast and it now lunchtime .... w .... would you mind sitting with us at the dinning table? "

Mia ask Freya who seemed to have now relax around them, she stare silently at them for a while before she nod her head and Mia beamed with happiness.

" You need a bath would it be okay if I bath you, why don't I give you a bath before we step out "

Freya quickly shake her head to her which made her understand not to push her luck, Freya pick up the book and started to scribble on it

" I can bath myself "

Freya quickly show it to and she smile

" Okay I left a change of clothes in the bathroom, change into that when you're done I'll come for you later "

Mia said that to her and walk out of the room leaving Freya to bath herself.

Mia later came for Freya after she was done cooking, they all say at the dinning table and ate their lunches in silence. Freya walk back to the room after she was done leaving the Marshalls thinking about how to go about finding her parents.

Months passed since the Marshalls brought Freya to their home and yet still they couldn't find her parents and nor did anyone came in search for her and even tho she was still a child Freya had come to accept that her parents didn't want her anymore, so the Marshalls decided to legalize her adoption as they have come to get used to her and her abilities and so did Freya. 

Freya had come to accept them as her new parents and went by the name Freya Marshall, but Freya's worries didn't go away as her abilities grown much stronger when she started to grow older. She pretended to be mute that couldn't keep her abilities at bay and it started to disrupt her life and cause troubles for the Marshalls.

Their neighbors started to fear and stay away from them, her friends she made in started to also treat her as she was treated when she was young and she was treated as a plague which everyone avoided. 

Freya felt so broken in both mind and soul and tho she didn't show it she silently wails in her heart. 

She got use to dummy up, communicating with others via pen and paper. 

Freya's Pov:

I sat on my bed in my room as the morning sun shone brightly on me and stared into space as I thought about my life. At midnight, I turn twenty years of age and I've made up my mind not to give the Marshalls anymore troubles than I've already given them. They were good enough to take me in when my own biological mother left me in the forest at the age of five, and all I've done for them is cause troubles with these cursed abilities, which I do not even know what they are or what I am to call myself and I know for a fact that I am not human. 

Tonight I plan on leaving from Mystic Falls to start anew in New Orleans which was about 1523 miles away from Mystic Falls and no one knew me there so I won't be treated as a plague or disease for the time being, it pained my heart that I was going to leave without informing the Marshalls, but I did write them a letter which I made sure to put somewhere they can find the next morning.
