Crossfire of the Heart

It was the summer of 2003, and the world was a different place. The echoes of war reverberated through every corner of the globe, and for a seventeen-year-old girl like me, the chaos seemed both terrifying and alluring. Growing up in a small town in England, I had always felt a sense of restlessness.
