2 Sister's Revenge

It was winter. Snow was blowing in and the wind was horrible. Anna and Lana were in the library being taught the history of the wolves, where they come from, the who''s who and the what is what.

Lana giggled under her hand as her mother looked over her nose at her but had a warm smile on her face. "What is so funny little one" she spoke as she moved to her youngest daughter. Anna was watching with a grin on her face. Lana's little cheeks were red and she looked at her mother and said, "This is the who is who book"

Melva looked at her daughter with squinted eye brows while Anna tried not to swallow her tongue. "The who is who book?" Melva asked her. "Yes, Lana said, "this book tells you who is who and what they are in the kingdoms" Lana squeaked out at her mother.

"Hmmm" Melva said as she turned her watchful eyes to Anna. Anna dropped her eyes back to the boring book of Elders, she hated reading these books about a bunch of old men and women that never did anything but tell everyone what to do. Melva asked Lana who she was reading about and Lana so excitedly told her she was reading about the first wolf Queen Ruby Eileen.

"She was not very nice and she had too many children" Lana stated. Melva smiled and said, "She would have been your Great great great grandmother Lana". Lana dropped her eyes back down and thought about what her mother had just said and then looked at her mother and said, "I would not have liked her mom she was really mean and she even killed people," Melva nodded in agreement and then said, "Sometimes we are forced to do things we normally would not in order to protect those we love, Queen Ruby was a warrior Queen and she had to fight the humans to get her hands on all the lands that the wolves now live on and thrive on."

Lana listened as her mother went on to tell the story of how the woman set up all four kingdoms and how we were now the King and Queen of the Mountain regions. Lana nodded in understanding and then out of no -where she said, "She still was just a greedy old bat if you ask me" Anna busted out laughing and Melva turned her back on her daughter so she could not see her laughing.

"Well I guess you can have your opinion about her but it is kinda rude seeing how you do not even know her" Melva turned back around and faced her daughters now. "You are right mom I should not judge her." Lana said with a frown. Melva was still smiling when she sat down in front of Lana and said.

"Let's stop studying for now and go get some hot chocolate." The girls jumped up and took off as Melva laughed and chased them to the kitchen. The men were just coming in the huge doors as snow blew in around them fighting to blow inside the palace. They all stomped their feet and pulled their thick snow boots off and started talking to the other men.

Gahlon was speaking with his Royal Beta Glenn. "The stables are closed up and the horses have all been fed the heaters are on to knock the cold out of the stables."

Gahlon nodded as he took Melva into his arms and kissed her forehead as she put her hands on the shoulders of the two boys standing beside them. "Kevin would you and Matthew like some hot chocolate?" she asked them as they both agreed and started to the kitchen.

Essie and Red came out of their room and walked in and joined us in the large kitchen as Chief Gretchen started the water to boil. Gahlon came in with Glenn and everyone talked about the snow storm except for Red and Anna.

They were planning on spending the night together and seeing if they could sneak out and go sledding in the dark. They had been planning it for a week now and finally the storm came and that will add extra snow which should be perfect.

Gretchen handed out everyone's cups as Anna and Red thanked her and both put tons of mini marshmallows in theirs and then Gretchen handed them both a chocolate covered spoon with a hint of mint to stir theirs. Everyone else started gagging but Anna just stuck her tongue out at them as Red laughed along with Lana. "That is so gross" Kevin said with his finger stuck in his open mouth like he was gagging.

Melva grabbed two more chocolate covered spoons and gave one to Essie as they both giggled as they stirred them into their cups. Gretchen handed Lana a candy cane and she stuck hers into her cup and said, "Don't say a word Kevin I have seen you sneaking these and putting them into your hot chocolate before" Kevin laughed and grabbed one and did just that.

Matthew just drank his and told Gretchen it was the best hot chocolate he had ever had. She smiled at him and patted his shoulder. The women and men left the kids in the kitchen as they went to the living room to sit and talk for a bit.

Anna and Red took off upstairs and went straight to Anna's room they had to get their clothes ready for tonight. A small knock came to the door and Anna told Lana to come in. The girls started telling Lana about what they were going to do tonight and asked her if she wanted to come and of course she did. Anna showed her what clothes to put on for tonight and told her to wait until mom and dad go to bed before getting up. Lana was excited she has never snuck out before and she just couldn't wait to go sledding.

The night passed by quickly and the girls jumped into bed waiting for their nightly visit from their parents. They came to Anna's room first and kissed the girls good night and all the good things about bed bugs and stuff and then closed the door. Anna and Red shot up and started putting all their layers on and then grabbed their boots waiting on Lana.

Not too long after that there was her little knock and Anna threw the door open and grabbed Lana's hand and took off downstairs. There were two guards at the front doors but Anna was going through the kitchen, they would never know. As soon as the girls were outside the moon had just started rising they went to the barn and got the sleds and started towards the hill that everyone sled down.

They kept hearing laughter but thought nothing of it just thought some of the pack members might be there sledding too. When they got to the top of the hill Anna put Lana on the sled with herself behind her and Red behind her and they pushed off. The girls were screaming and laughing until they almost ran over someone and then they realized it was their mom and dad.

The girls flipped off the sled and jumped up to run back to the castle until they heard Gahlon's voice. "You girls know you can not be out after dark without security" The three girls stood with their heads dropped all three said at the same exact time, "Yes sir". Then all of a sudden two more sleds flew by and Kevin and Matthew both were sledding down the hill with two girls in front of them. Anna busted out laughing and so did her mom and dad.

"Well I guess since we are all out here lets race" Gahlon hollered as the girls grabbed their sleds and ran for the top of the hill. They sled most of the night but all were in attendance for morning training starting with stretching and that was the worst part of the training.

Gahlon had a specific way he stretched each one of them and no two were the same but to Anna she had the most strenuous ones to do. Gahlon and Melva were in front then it was Glenn and Essie and Angelica moms warrior guard. Then Kevin and Matthew and then us girls. The elite warriors were next and then most of the pack showed up.

This was a tradition and we met at sunrise every day like this. Gahlon would walk and make sure that each one of us was doing our stretching and doing it correctly. Then the oak sticks came out and that's when the fun would start. We would spar with one another and sometimes Gahlon would put Anna against Matthew or Kevin.

Anna was quick and she always managed to put them on their butts causing Gahlon to laugh and tell the boys to get back up and try to put her on the ground. When Anna was younger it was no problem but the older she got the more fierce she became and they could not touch her.

Kevin had gotten so mad that Gahlon would no longer let him and Anna spar together he put Red with him but soon that did not work either Red became just as quick as Anna. When all the training was done they all went in and showered and came back down for breakfast the whole pack gathered to eat and Gretchen would always have enough.

This is what we did every morning since Anna could remember. It was what taught Anna the discipline she needed to decide on her future. She wanted to be a warrior and she knew her mother was not going to like that. Gahlon and Beta Glenn taught Anna and Red to swim, and then started teaching them survival skills.

Anna was a great hunter and gatherer and she would always share her kills with the locals. Lana became closer to their mother, dressing and always every hair in place. She was growing taller and knew twice as much as Anna on the history and the "Who is Who". The girls stayed close and would sneak into each others rooms at night to share their day and what all they had learned. Life was good and the girls were spoiled by everyone.

They both would always give back to their pack though ensuring each one had everything they needed. The years trickled by and soon enough Anna was thirteen fixing to turn to fourteen. Her brothers both had left and went for training off far away and she had not seen them for over a year.

Lana was two years younger than Anna but she had started growing a bit taller but was still very thin. She stayed in classes most of the day and she loved her dresses. Anna wore jeans and shirts with mostly tennis shoes unless it was winter and then she would wear her snow boots. Anna and Red would sneak down at the turning Ceremonies and watch from the bushes as the young men and women of their pack got their wolves Non shifters were not allowed. Most everyone in the pack believed in fated mates and waited until they found theirs or they would wait for a second chance if something happened to the first.

Carla an omega had come to work at the palace and everyone fell in love with her. She was smaller than most wolves with dark brown hair and eyes and her wolf was brown in color. Queen Melva and Essie had helped her shift she had a horrible time with it but finally her wolf came out and then every Friday they all would go for a run to keep her wolf strong.

She would laugh at the girls and sometimes cover her mouth at what she would over hear come out of Anna's mouth but she fit into the family like she had always belonged there. She was waiting on her mate, she would light up talking about him and how her life would change when he came for her. The girls would giggle and Anna would smile at how much she truly believed in her little love story.

Spring had come and gone and now it was summer, there was a party coming up for Anna's birthday. The girls were excited everyone from the pack was coming including Stanley, and Anna had a really bad crush on him, they would hold hands and he would walk her to class and always walk her to the training grounds. The party was a huge success and Stanley danced with Anna for almost every song.

The brothers never came and Anna really had not stopped to think about them not being there. As the evening got later most of the grown ups had left except a few that sat in the back with the King and Queen.

The King's guard Tom was seated by them when the women started talking about Anna and Stanley. Tom sat up straight, that was his son. Gahlon noticed it and said, "Do you think your son knows that she is his mate?" Tom swallowed not liking where this was going but knew he had to answer, "He is older than her and says he does not feel the draw of a mate from her, but she has not gotte
