Aslan says he loves Elena but is still acting selfishly and being manipulative doing what he wants and not taking into consideration what Elena needs . She is still wary of Aslan she doesn't trust him or even like him very much especially now that he has found her again and forced her back to New York to live with him . His friends and family aren't much help either ; they were happy for them when Aslan and Elena were together and furious with Elena when they thought she had betrayed him but soon changed their minds when he confessed that he had forced himself on her at the start of their relationship . Aslan and Elena have never really communicated very well , it is something that they need to learn to do quickly in order to stand a chance of making a go of things .
