" what?" I asked, shock rolling through me as i try to process what my brother has just said

" Vienna is pregnant" he repeated, a little slower

" that's impossible, she can't be"

I hear him sigh " I don't know how asmodeous but she is. The test is pretty accurate"

I can't believe it. Pregnant. We just got married and already there is a baby. We hadn't even had the chance to celebrate properly and now there is a d*mn BABY! it has to be Gaf's. Vienna and I hadn't been together in months. My possession and kidnapping her, then dragging her to hell had really affected our intimacy.

" are you still there?" My brothers tired voice broke me from my thoughts and I cleared my throat

' Uh yeah, it's just a lot to take in Gaf "

" yeah I know"

" are you happy?" I asked, unsure what to think

I could hear the smile in his voice when he answered

" yeah I am. I don't want to hurt you or cause any issues. This doesn't change anything with us brother...but I'm really happy"

I couldn't help but smile at the excitement I heard in those words. I loved my brother and I worshipped Vienna. This baby would be a good thing, I had to believe that.

" she needs to see a Dr" I tell him, the list of things I knew about pregnant women's needs was minimal but I knew they needed drs at least

" yeah, I know"

" and she needs vitamins or something, she needs to eat properly Gaf and.."

" asmodeous" he cut me off " I KNOW there is a lot to talk about and work out but right now we need to let the news sink in and we all need to sleep"

" ok" I agreed , although sleep was the last thing i was going to do " go to bed, I'll see you tomorrow "

" goodnight brother"

" goodnight" I said back and hung up. I leaned back against the lounge and let out a long breath. The house was too quiet, Adam having gone to bed the minute we for home. Regina's house...or my house now was back from the suburbs, ideal for privacy but offered no background noise to keep my mind from reeling.

Knowing I would never sleep , I changed into sweatpants and grabbed my phone and headphones heading for the door.

I started out at a slow run but found myself going faster as thoughts of Vienna and the wedding and the baby and the future flying through my head. I changed my play list to a little known band, 'the hot lies' and cranked up the volume. Sweat poured off me as houses flew by and I ran down the empty streets. I made it to the waterfront and leaned on the railing that overlooked the water; breathing heavily and feeling my muscles screaming from the exertion.

This wasn't how things were supposed to be. Vienna was supposed to be mine and we were supposed to have an eternity together.

Now she was married to me AND my brother and she carried his child. I would always be on the sidelines and feel like an intruder in my own marriage.

I gripped the railing harder until I noticed smoke. I lifted my hands and examined the scorch marks on the wood. Looking around to make.sure I wasn't being watched, I yanked at the burnt wood until it crumpled and dropped into the water below, the evidence of what I had done gone.

I turned and walked back to the main road, the shops closed but still lit up the street in a soft glow.

I stopped in front of the gym that was due to open in a couple of days. The gym that gaf, Adam and I had put so much work into with the hope of creating a future. What would that future look like now?

A shadow caught the corner of my eye and I turned, scanning the empty streets but not seeing anyone. The hair on the back of my neck prickled and I rubbed at it , annoyed that I was letting my mind play tricks on me. I checked the doors of the gym were still securely locked before heading back towards the house.

I watched him run off from my place in the shadows. He hadn't seen me or heard the girl fall.

My hand still over her mouth I leaned in close to her ear " you make a sound and I will rip out your tongue , do you understand?" I growled

The girl nodded quickly, tears streaming from her eyes and wet my hand. I threw her to the ground and wiped it against my pants, disgusted.

" please dont hurt me " she whimpered softly. The fear came off her in waves and I was disgusted with her weakness. She cowered at my feet.

" please" she pleaded again " let me go , I swear I won't tell anyone, please just let me go"

I knelt down in front of her and she flinched , I gripped her throat , lifting her face so she could see the knife in my hand, glinting as it inched towards her chest.

" you are free now" I smiled as I plunged it in, the sharp blade slid in like she was made of butter.

Blood trickled from her mouth as the light left her eyes and I got to work

The light streamed in just mere hours after I had finally fallen asleep and i groaned as I cursed myself for not closing the blackout blinds the night before.

I ducked into the small bathroom, quickly showering and dressing before heading downstairs in search of coffee.

Adam was already up, shovelling down cereal from his usual place in front of the television. Since I had bought it, he'd been fascinated with documentaries and news programs, always wanting information.

I rinsed a mug and filled it with steaming black coffee, the smell immediately awakening my senses.

I dropped to the seat next to Adam and he nodded at me in acknowledgement, his mouth full of milk and sugary rubbish. Vienna's dog Molly sat at his feet and rested her head on his lap, giving him big sad eyes no doubt to trick Adam into giving her his food.

I sipped at my coffee and focused on the screen, a lady talking with an over enthusiasm and pointing at a map with different temperatures displayed on it.

" I have to go and see Vienna today " I said to Adam and he nodded, swallowing the mouthful he had been chewing

'Yeah, figured since you let Gaf have the wedding night with her"

He said it so casually, despite how strange the situation must seem to others.

" she's pregnant"

Adam laughed " really that was quick" he shook his head and took another mouthful of cereal

" I'm serious Adam"

He shot me a look and swallowed quickly "seriously? That's wild"

I raised an eyebrow at him " wild?"

He shrugged " lots of 90's show reruns lately"

" right. Well anyway I want to get vienna to the Dr and make sure everything is ok" I said

He started to respond but the image in the screen caught my attention " what the f*ck?"

A woman was speaking , the familiar shops of the main street behind her. I reached for the remote and turned up the volume. Adam fell silent as images of a taped off alley, the ground stained with blood flashed in the screen

" ...about 10pm late last night. The teenager was found , her heart cut out and her body was positioned in the centre of what appears to be a pentagram. Police are asking for anyone with information..."

The words died as I hit mute

" that's across from the gym!" Adam exclaimed "that's not going to be good for business"

I shot him a look " I don't think that's the right thing to take away from this. The girl was on a pentagram with her heart cut out. That's sounds ritualistic"

He looked pale " like Satanists"

" or demons pretending to be" I said without thinking

Adams eyes widened and I forced myself to scoff at his reaction " I'm kidding Adam, geez"

He relaxed a little " I knew that" he said scowling at me and lifting the bowl to drink the leftover milk. I could see the redness in his cheeks and knew that I had embarrassed him so I dropped it.

" do you want to come with me to see Gaf and Vienna?" I asked as way of a peace offering

He shook his head " actually I will go check on the gym while you three do your newly-wed thing" he rubbed Molly's head affectionately and her tail thumped against the floor, her tongue panting as he scratched behind her ears

I rolled my eyes but got up to finish getting ready, wanting to get to Vienna as soon as possible.

I pulled into her driveway less than an hour later and looked at the house for a moment. The three of us had moved in here but after I had gone to hell Gaf and vienna had truly made it theirs. I could see it in the garden filled with flowers, herbs and vegetables that Gaf obviously had a skill for.

The bistro table on the verandah with soft cushions on the seats and a basket of books to one side was all vienna.

The decorations from the night before were still up and I smiled at the memories they invoked. Vienna looked like the perfect goddess she was in her wedding dress and I suddenly ached to have her in my arms.

I got out, pushing the door shut and not bothering to lock it, striding to the front door quickly and entering without knocking. They may not want me living here right now but she was mine and I wasn't going to be kept from her.

They both looked up as I entered the house. Gaf smiled and went back to cooking whatever he was making. Vienna stood cautiously from her place at the bench.

I narrowed my eyes at her " what?"

" are you mad?" It came out so soft a human wouldn't have heard it.

I could sense Gaf tensing and he pretended not to listen but I knew he was.

" about the pregnancy?"

She nodded, her hands automatically moving protectively over her stomach

" not if you are ok and happy"

Her shoulders relaxed and she gave me a small smile.

" can I get a kiss good morning from my wife now?" I asked, cooking my head as I studied her

Her smile grew and she moved so fast I barely caught her as she threw herself into my arms. My heart thudded at the closeness of her. I reached down and brushed the hair from her face, trailing my fingers down her cheek before I gripped the back of her neck and brought my lips down on hers, my tongue slipping between her lips and stroking against hers.

She moaned and wrapped her arms around my neck, pulling herself closer to me as our lips moved together feverishly. Her fingers moved up my neck and into my hair. A little whimper came from her throat and I smiled against her mouth, oncoming what she wanted.

I extended my horns, my lips never leaving hers and felt her hands immedietly stroke over them. She gripped them and held on as I lifted her up, her legs straddling my waist. I moved to the lounge sitting down with her in my lap. My mouth pulling back and moving to kiss down her throat.

She let out a sigh " I've missed you As" she murmered. I nipped her lightly as I reached her shoulder and she shivered

" ive missed you too little demon" I growl as I s*ck against her skin, undoubtedly leaving marks.

Gaf clearance hos throat behind us " sorry to interrupt but breakfast is ready if you are"

Vienna tightens her grip on me " im not hungry"

I smack her butt and rub at it to soothe the sting "you will eat Vienna. No arguments"

She pulled back and scowled at me " don't tell me you are going to be as bossy as him" she grumbles, jerking her head in Gafs direction. I hear his chuckle behind us and the clinking of China as he lays the kitchen island with dishes.

I stand with Vienna still in my arms, carrying her to the island and placing her gently in the nearest stool. I kiss the top of her head gently

" I'm much worse little demon" I purr Into her ear and smirk as her body shudders.

I slide into the sear next to her and Gaf takes a seat across from us. The two of us begin to serve and pile up Vienna's plate with pancakes, bacon, fruit and buttered toast.

Her mouth falls open " I can't eat all of that!" She protests

" try" Gaf and I say at the same time, our eyes meet and I relax when I see the humor in his. I had to admit that I had missed my brother and it felt good to not be at odds with him.

Vienna picked up a strawberry and nibbled at it , her scowl darting between Gaf and I. We both ignored it as we loaded up our own plates.

I stared at the little jellybean on the screen

" that's it? " asmodeous asked the nurse " it's so small"

" you are 8 weeks" the technician tells vienna, ignoring Asmodeous's comment as she turns the screen to show Vienna a better image.

Vienna reaches for my hand and I grip it as we stare at the screen

" see this flicker" the technician points to a spot and Vienna nods

" that's the heartbeat" the technician smiles

Vienna gives a little sob and her other hand covers her mouth. I squeeze the hand I am holding and run my thumb back and forth over her knuckles.

Asmodeous moves behind the bed and leans down to kiss her head. He glances at me and smiles and I smile back, reassuring him I'm ok.

" so we will estimate the due date at...OMG!" the technician suddenly exclaims, jumping back and looking at Vienna's stomach. The ultrasound gel was bubbling. Vienna shot me a terrified look as the technician grabbed some paper towels
