Married To Her Sister's Grumpy Fiancé

I am begging the author, on my hands and knees, to please find an editor, because this novel desperately needs to be proofread and cleaned up. The writing really is THAT bad. Which is unfortunate, because it seriously drags down what would otherwise be a very entertaining story. I appreciate how tight and focused the plot is; there are no tediously long side plots bogging it down or slowing the pacing, everything progresses smoothly. The characters are hit and miss. On the whole, the protagonists are likeable enough, though their characterisation is tied way too heavily to the plot. Charlotte suffers from this the worst. Her character changes depending on what the plot requires - she’s kind when the plot needs her to be, but otherwise quite rude and uncaring (she never says ‘please’ or ‘thank you’, never tries to befriend the people around her etc.), she’s generally pretty smart and sensible (which is very refreshing!), but makes unbelievably stupid decisions, for quite literally no reason whatsoever, whenever the plot needs her to. Dalton is very much the same, especially when it comes to suddenly being a complete moron whenever the plot requires it. I hate these kinds of plot contrivances, and it does the novel a huge disservice for the story to only exist because otherwise smart characters do or don’t do things for no reason at all. But apart from the absolutely abysmal state of the writing and the characters randomly losing all their brain cells from time to time, I did really enjoy reading this and would recommend it, so long as you can tolerate these flaws.
