Book 4 in the God's Saga. It is not recommend reading before 4 without reading the previous books. Isolde’s life was full of love and joy. She was set to be High priestess of the makkari, but everything changed in a single night when she lost everything at the hands of someone she thought she could trust. For centuries she has been on the run, helping the supernatural community under the cloak of anonymity while she works to clear her name and save the very people after her, from destruction. Enemies are closing in, but an unexpected complication befalls her when she realises she’s been fated to someone who wants her species exterminated. After all, an evil chance seldom comes alone. Here is a list of my books and the orders to read each book in each series. More calm, but when you face it, all the lines go down your throat. She looked at Warren nervously, as if she feared losing him in the blink of an eye. "I won't let you down, Clavia." Warren said softly, with a rare tenderness. She gave the potion a few gentle shakes, and the liquid reflected a pale blue halo in the bottle, as if life itself were pulsating in the bottle. Kravia took a deep breath and nodded slightly. "It's all our efforts, no matter what... It's going to work." Warren smiled and brought the top of the bottle to his lips. "Then let me test your masterpiece." Clavia held her breath and watched Warren slowly drink the potion. The thick liquid shimmered slightly in the light, and Warren's Adam's apple appeared particularly clear as it moved up and down as he swallowed. A few seconds of silence seemed to stretch into eternity. All that remained in the air was the ticking of the brass clock and the racing heart of Kravia. Suddenly, Warren closed his eyes and shivered slightly. Kravia almost rushed forward, but was stopped by a hand. "... "Heat," Warren whispers, "like a flame has gone through the body." Clavia stared nervously at her face and noticed a healthy flush creeping into Warren's pale cheeks. The light of the wound began to dim, and even the originally smooth skin could be seen faintly. "It worked! Kravia cried out in surprise. Warren opened his eyes, and there was a flash of gratitude and wonder in his deep pupils. "Your potion... More powerful than I thought. I can feel my body coming back, even stronger than before." Clavia wept with joy, her hands clasped uncontrollably against her chest. "Is it true? God, this is really... Palikti will be happy for us." Warren nodded gently, but then frowned slightly. "But there is one thing I must warn you of, Clavia." 'What? "The moment I drank the potion, I felt something... Something else. It's like a consciousness, or... Some kind of call. Have you ever considered what presence such a powerful potion might attract?" Clavia was stunned. The success of the drug went to her head, causing her to ignore the most basic risk assessment. "I'll look into it." She replied solemnly, "If there is a danger, I will be ready." Warren nodded, a weary look on his face. "Anyway, thank you, Clavia. I wouldn't have made it this far without you." With a warm smile, Clavia stepped forward and took Warren's hand. "Don't thank me, we just did what had to be done. Stay alive and show the world that we can do it." The two men smiled at each other, as if in this moment, all the hard work and sacrifice had paid off. The sunlight from the window filtered through the glass, reflecting their renewed hope.
