Ivana's mission was simple: infiltrate the inner circle of the Drakyn Empire and bring them to their knees. As a product of the Synkharis project, she is a weapon forged in lies, trained to seduce, manipulate, and survive at any cost. But when her deep-cover assignment throws her into the path of the four most dangerous shifters in existence, her cold, calculated reality begins to unravel. She expected a target. Instead, she ignited a primal, magnetic bond that ties her to these brutal, possessive monarchs. As her demon threatens to surface and her mission falters under the weight of an undeniable attraction, Ivana realizes she is caught in the crossfire of four powerful hearts that refuse to let her go. They are apex predators, and they are unwilling to share, until they realize they cannot survive without her. As her past as a government project catches up to her and the kings' obsessions turn into a desperate hunt, Ivana faces a truth more terrifying than death: when you are fated to the Kings, you don't choose one, you belong to them all.
Chapter 1
I was born to seduce, trained to manipulate and sharpened to be a weapon. For as long as I knew, my name was Project S. A demon hybrid, a product of the breeding program of the elite society called Synkharis. Everyday was a day to train, to hone skills. To prove talent and live up to my name as the most prized possession of the noble faction.
Tap, tap, tap.
"Project S. You are required to meet the leaders immediately." A voice said from the door. I did not remember who it was, they all sounded the same to me.
Shifting my gaze from the door, I looked at the snow capped expanse for one last time before leaving my bare room. The hallways were dark, archaic, it did not betray the very modern experiments my breeder did here.
My escort stopped before a giant double doors. I knew what laid beyond those doors, I had travelled here countless times. The doors yielded before she knocked, inviting me in.
I entered to find the leaders seated around a large table as usual. Lady Beth sat with her hands resting on her cane, a scowl ever present on her face. Lord Nikolai smiled warmly at me, he was the leader of the organization.
My breeder sat with a distant look in his eyes, I was sure his attention was elsewhere. The last seat was empty. It always was.
"Ivana," Lord Nikolai said. He had creases around his eyes from smiling too much.
I blinked. My name is not Ivana, I am Project S.
"I'm sure you know why we called you." He continued.
Wait... I'm Ivana?
I lowered my lashes to hide the subtle confusion which plagued me.
"You are a prized product of extensive research. A succubus human hybrid."
I knew that, I was reminded everyday. My comrades died before a month ended or grew up to be crazed, volatile creatures the leaders could not control. I was perfect. A hybrid capable of a shift.
"We bred you, to seduce the Drakyn. And now the time is here."
My ears perked up.
"Those beasts have evaded us and our ancestors for centuries. But their king has shown his face." Lord Nikolai picked a file and threw it at me.
I snatched it from the air with ease, opened it and could not help the smirk that formed on my lips.
"What's funny?" My breeder asked.
I raised my gaze to look at him, his crystal blue eyes mirrored mine. He had a cold sneer on his face, he always did when I looked him in the eyes.
"It only has a name." I answered.
"It is the only thing we could get without rousing suspicion. The drakyn seems to control telecoms, finance, transport...everything" Lady Beth grumbled. She was the mistress of the archives and getting information from the Drakyn territory.
"You are trained to work with little." Nikolai spoke, "I do not expect failure."
A delicious thrill coursed through my being. I enjoyed a good challenge, especially ones which seemed impossible.
"Lucan Dorgath is a very elusive being. He appears and disappears at will. You will join his company and find a way to tame that beast." Nikolai ordered, "make him obsessed."
How exciting. I tucked my hands behind my back and stood with legs akimbo. That was how I was trained to receive orders.
"Your name is Ivana Ashford from here on out. You are a thirty year old young executive of Dorgath Inc. A graduate from an Ivy league academy and your parents recently died in a plane crash." Lady Beth rasped out, slamming her cane into the ground after every few words as if drilling the information into my head.
"I understand." I nodded.
"You leave now." Nikolai instruted.
It was no surprise to me that they seemed rushed. The Drakyn had been hiding amongst the humans, using their influence to shape cultures and dictate their will to countries. We had to move quickly before the opportunity to get closer slipped from our hands.
The walk back to my room was brisk. The help from before had packed my life into a small suitcase. There was nothing much in there, I was sure of it. My gaze drifted across the cold walls of this cell I called mine. There was a bed, a wardrobe and a chair without a table.
Henry, my breeder, forbade any form of unnecessary comfort. Luxury was something I was trained to exude, not live in. There was no sense of familiarity when I entered this room and when I left, there was no looking back.
Within hours I was on a flight to London, with a partner called Fred. He was to be the informant between the leaders and I.
Dorgath Inc. felt intimidating when I arrived. My position as head of Marketing put me in direct contact with the target but he had not shown up in London yet.
The routine was simple; come to work, scout for Drakyn weaknesses while pretending to be a high profile executive. Then go back to my apartment and send a report.
On the third day of the mission, a blonde man approached me, smiling when his eyes met mine.
"You must be Ms. Ashford." He said.
"And you are?"
"I'm Tate, your assigned assistant." He led me to the automated stairwell going up to my floor.
As we moved up, a sweet scent suddenly ivaded my senses. It smelt like burnt spice and sandalwood with a tinge of...blood. My heart raced, a deafening ring sounded in my ear and a need for pleasure surged through me. The higher we went the thicker the scent became, scattering my senses.
I ground my teeth to hold it together but my other form fought to be on the surface, fangs tore through my gum and I could feel the bones as they pushed out of my forehead. I bent over to hide the very visible bumps on my head.
What is happening to me?
And what is that f*ck*ng smell?
Chapter 2
LUCAN'S POV
I entered the London office to smell the most intoxicating thing I ever smelt yesterday. It was faint, the person it belonged to had probably closed from work. But now, that scent was wafting in and rousing the parts of me I had forced to sleep.
"Sir?" Kevin called.
I lifted my gaze to him, the way he narrowed his eyes told me something was wrong.
"Your eyes sir." He said quietly.
There was no need to hide it, they were Drakyn but a shift in my demeanor in anyway bred fear amongst them.
"What detergent was used to clean the office?"
"We don't know sir, is there a problem?" Dorian asked.
I looked around at the conference room, maybe the ventilation was blowing something in. The seat on my right was still empty ten minutes into the meeting.
"Who is late?" I glared at the chair.
"It's Ivana Ashford, Tate said she was held up in the bathroom but they will be here in a few minutes. She’s human." Darius,
