**** POV

My eyes roamed around the club, like it was searching for something or someone. Everyone in the club was doing the same things, dancing, making out, laughing loudly at drunk jokes, drinking like they were intentionally trying to get drunk, which I was sure most of them were, then my eyes landed on someone. She was sitting on one of the bar stools and gulping down alcohol like her life was ending its course. I instantly fell in love with her dressing method, she really did have a living fashion sense. I also liked the way she looked, innocent yet naughty at the same time, a pretty weird combination of you ask me but fascinating. From the way she was gulping down the throat-churning liquid, I knew she was in a pretty bad mood, a vulnerable mood. I walked towards her and sat right next to her.

“I’ll have what the pretty damsel is having “,I requested to the bartender.

It was then that she turned to look at me and I was met with the most beautiful hazel eyes. She had blonde hair that cascaded down her shoulders. Her nose was perfectly carved and her lips thin with a shade of pink.

“I was just curious about the taste if you’re willing to drink all the available bottles”,I started when she kept her eyes on me.

“Believe me, I don’t know. I’m in a mood that I can’t even taste the alcohol in my system”,she replied in the sweetest voice I’d ever heard, slowly reverting her eyes back to her glass, signalling for a refill.

The bartender handed my glass of drink to me and I gulped down the contents in one go. I felt the hot liquor burn the insides of my throat as it travelled down my system. I looked at the lady that was chunking it down as if it was water and it got me wondering just what happened to her that got her immune to such a sensation.

“Well, it does have the taste to make you forget your problems due to a terrible hangover tomorrow”,I said.

“Well too bad I rarely get hangovered from alcohol” ,she replied with a bitter smile on her face.

“So why does the damsel seem in distress?” I asked referencing to the popular ‘damsel in distress’ saying.

“I wouldn’t normally say this to just anyone, but who cares, we’re in a club and meeting you again is unlikely, so I’ll just lay ‘em all out”,she said and turned to me. In return, I leaned in closer, showing her she had all my attention

“Well, my boyfriend, oh wait, ex-boyfriend broke up with me after I caught him cheating on me. I mean, it happens everyday, but d*mn, it finally landed on my doorstep. He always said he had eyes for only me,but I saw him kissing and doing all sorts of things with a year one student in his department. ”,she lamented and gave out a drunk smile, one that didn’t reach her eyes.

After a while,with me not saying anything,as I might be good in a lot of things,but consoling someone? Nah. She turned to me and chuckled lowly.

“I am sure you must think I’m a loser or an idiot for drinking here because of a man. My best friend thinks so and everyone who sees me here will say the same thing, because they just haven’t gone through what I have in the hands of the boys who always ‘have eyes for only me’. Now to you,why are you here?”,she asked,trying to smile but failing woefully.

“I wanted to have a drink or two. I’m starting a new job tomorrow,and I might not have the leisure to come here again. It’s that simple.”I heard her laugh a little,but there was no happiness in it.

“Well, some people still have things going on for them. Congratulations and I hope you find happiness in your new job”,she said,not smiling one bit even if she had just wished me happiness.

I didn’t Iike the way she was,my entire being ached to do something, anything,to make her happy and toake her forget whichever b*st*rd got her torturing herself.“ So tell me,what do you want me to do?”.

She looked at me for a few seconds like I had suddenly changed form or something,before turning her head away,shaking it.

“I don’t think there’s anything you can do,my knight in shining armor”,was all she said.

She downed the newly refilled glass in one go, not even showing signs of the brutality of the liquor on her throat. I wondered what kind of man would have her and still look outside. Well,he had his chance,but he blew it,and I felt like I wanted my own chance,and I knew I wasn’t gonna blow it. So, I leaned in closer to her ear and whispered into it.

“Do you want me to make you forget about him?” ,I asked in a voice that was promising.

She looked at me and I saw doubts in her eyes, so she didn’t think I could make her forget him. I laughed within me but soon, I saw the doubts in her eyes change to curiosity.

“Can you?”, she asked and I smirked. “Just say the words, and we’ll find out”,I replied, meaning everything I said.

“Yes,please”,she said in a pleading voice…..

Cordelia’s POV

Slowly,I opened my eyes but had to force it shut immediately due to the sunrays hitting my eyes raw. After sometime, I slowly opened them again,to a strange environment I couldn’t place my finger on how I ended up in. I tried sitting up and oh d*mn! My entire body felt like tired and weary,like I had just finished doing something strenuous. I looked beside me and noticed a man beside me. The first thing that entered my head was ‘what had I done?’.

Slowly and shakily,I lifted the sheet from his body and oh! He was butt naked! My heart started thumping violently inside my rib cage and I prayed it wasn’t what thought it was but it was exactly what I thought it was. I covered him back immediately but could still feel my heart racing dangerously. I couldn’t believe I slept with a total stranger from a club all because I was out drinking because of my pathetic love life. I decided that instead of wallowing at the panicky feeling in my heart I had better get out
