This novel is very captivating. You know something is going to happen and the anticipation build up it's great. I like the idea of pen pals meeting later in life. I used to have pen pals but we lost contact, so this throws me back to that feeling from childhood. It's also good to see a strong man being protective and caring towards his future partner and his friends and family. I love the show of respect and acceptance towards his father when he does not agree with how his dad handles the situation. He does not go behind his back and handle it the way he would want but follows the rules.
