Annotation
“I, Raven Roman, reject you, Alpha King Xander Black, as my mate.” I said my voice firm despite the pain in my heart but he only threw his head back and let out a dark, menacing laugh. “You? Reject me? I refuse your rejection, you can't escape me mate,” he spat his voice filled with hatred. "Because I am going to make you regret that you were born, you will beg for death but you won't find it. This is my promise to you.” ****** Raven is the most hated wolf in her pack for a crime her family committed against the Royal Family. She was hated, bullied and insulted at every turn, and as if things couldn't get twisted, fate decided to play a game on her, the one man who her family betrayed turns out to be her fated mate. The ruthless Alpha king Xander. The very man who despises her existence. She tried to reject him but he refused her rejection, promising to make her life a living hell. But things are not as they seem. There are secrets that need to be unraveled, a dangerous pull they cannot ignore, a bond they cannot sever. And as their worlds collide, Raven begins to uncover dark secrets buried deep within their pasts. Betrayal. Lies. Forces that threaten not only their bond but everything they’ve ever known. Will Xander and Raven look past their family hatred and join as one to fight their enemies or will their hatred consume them both?

When I first started reading this book, I wasn't sure if I would continue. The Alpha was an cruel, uncaring, heartless asshole. But, I continued and glad I did. Raven was a very strong-willed she-wolf that never took flack from anybody, especially the Alpha. The drama around Ariana did seem to drag out too long, but I do like how her life ended. With all the turmoil and evil people (Ariana, Uncle Marcus, Loki, Domenico) Raven was a force to be reckoned with. She held he own against Adriana. She never shied away from keeping her mouth shut to Xander. I loved Dario. What a sweet wolf. Dante, Xander's cousin, was a great friend to Raven. She needed one. I wasn't to sure about adding a vampire to the story. Luckily, hexwas short lived. It would have been nice to have at least one more chapter that talked about Uncle Marcus in the dungeon and if he ever showed any remorse or apologized. Was Raven able to get revenge for her parent's death? I admit I couldn't put the book down until I finished it. Looking forward to the next book.
