Chapter 1. I Found Her
Alpha Vir
He saw her and his jaw was tight, his posture tense, his pupils dilated, he inhaled her scent deeply which was like that of a warm, spring day. She was stunning. Her looks were that of a radiant, sultry goddess. My god, he wanted her. He wanted to grab her and mark her immediately. He tried not to lose control. He needed to put his lips on her neck and taste her while he inhaled that intoxicating scent. She was the one. He finally found her. His Mate. She belonged to him, and he was never going to let her go.
She smelled of lemon and spring air combined. Her beauty was clean, pure, ethereal. He found her at last, his Mate.
"I am here for the personal assistant position. My name is Mara Merlot," she said as she handed him a resume. He paused for a moment before taking it. He was so taken by her that she actually caused him to freeze for a moment. He stared into her striking, deep blue eyes and he got lost in them. He forgot to breathe. He was six foot eight, solid muscle, and a force to be reckoned with and yet before her beauty, he was helpless.
Finally, he spoke, "Hello Miss Merlot, It is a pleasure to meet you. I'm Vir Eros. Please, sit down," he said motioning to the chair. He smiled at her and when she smiled at him, he want to ravish her right there. He was haunted by her beauty. She made him vulnerable. He tried to hide all he was feeling inside. He tried to act professional. In reality, he wanted to lay her down on his desk and have her repeatedly, wildly, and release all that he felt right then and there, with her.
He sat down and looked over her resume. "It says here that you have your Master's in Visual Arts. Would you prefer to work in our book cover creation department?"
"In all honesty, I was hoping to establish myself as an employee here and eventually move to at design once a position opens up," she answered.
"I'll yell you what, work for me as an Administrative Assistant, I'll pay you three times more and give you a very attractive benefits package."
"That's very generous, Mr. Eros. I do hope I will be considered for the position," she replied.
"I have considered you for the position. You have it," he said with a warm smile.
"Really? Oh thank you Mr. Eros. I promise, you won't be disappointed," she said smiling so intensely that her whole face lit up. They both stood up and shook hands and he instantly felt electricity shoot from where their hands touched to throughout his body. It wasn't electricity that hurt but rather felt like an emotional rush. Dopamine and oxytocin coursed over synapses like floodwaters bursting through canyons. It was a wild, intoxicating surge of intense feeling. He knew she felt it, too by the expression on her face after they touched. She also jumped back like something surprised her. His Mate already had him in the palm of her hand and there was no place else he'd rather be.
She left his office and once she walked out the door, he exhaled deeply and ran his hand through his hair. He picked up the phone and called his Beta.
"Hello," Beta Jack greeted.
"Hello, I've found her," he said.
"You're kidding? What's your next move?" asked Beta Jack.
"We bring her in. I can't take the chance of losing her. Not after I finally found her," said Alpha Vir.
"I'll arrange a team," Beta Jack stated.
"She works for me now. Pick her up here. I'll finish things up here and will be right in. Treat her like gold. That's my future Luna," said Alpha Vir.
"Will do," said Beta Jack and they hung up.
Vir was an Alpha, the ruler of a werewolf pack. The second in command and assistant to the Alpha is the Beta. The Beta is also responsible for being in charge in the Alpha's absence.
He sat down and finished his work. He got to his hotel late. He needed to be there two more days before he could leave to return of his pack which was six hours from Chicago, which was where he worked.
The following day, she came into the office early. She had long light brown hair that she wore in a ponytail that bounced back and forth as she walked. She was a curvy, slender, statuesque beauty. She wore a silk black blouse that was buttoned up just enough to cover her ample cleavage. Her skirt was a professional-looking skirt that hugged her hips and was cut just below the knee. Her heels were black silk. She wore a silver chain with a garnet as the pendant. Oh, how he craved to cover this woman in diamonds.
He started her workday by giving her a personal tour of the floor of that building. He introduced her to some people who were there early. He took her downstairs and showed her where the cafeteria where lunches were eaten. He asked her whatsoever drives and where she parked and gave her a parking permit to put on her car mirror. His motive was two-fold. He needed to know where she parked because his men was giving her a ride to the Manor. This Manor was less than two hundred years old, but I was large, regal, luxurious and passed on to the Alphas and their family of the Moon River Pack.
Werewolf packs tend to live in the middle of the forest wilderness. Money is brought into the packs by members who are CEOs, own large or several businesses or have some occupation where they can make a lot of money, but can delegate most their responsibilities to those they hire or work from computer or home somehow. Werewolves don't want to risk being found out for being Werewolves, so they try their best to isolate themselves in the middle of nowhere. Historically, humans would hunt werewolves because they feared them, so they stayed hidden ever since those days. As a result, they have become fiction. They became myth.
Chapter 2. Mara
Mara
Mara was an artist. She graduated with a Master's Degree in Visual Arts. With that, and her computer savvy, she merited a job interview as the administrative assistant for the head of a corporation that created book covers. This company was known to hire from within. She hoped this career would bring her into the company so that if an Art Designer position opened up, she would qualify and land the job.
She was called for an interview Monday and was ecstatic to be hired on the spot by the man she would be working for. This man was exquisite. He was huge! Tall, muscular, a sight to behold. His hair was a dark brown cut into a fringe haircut that framed his strong, sultry face of an Adonis. He had piercing blue eyes and tattoos on his upper arms and chest. He wore an expensive dress shirt with the top few buttons unbuttoned revealing the edge of his tatts and his sleeves rolled up. He wore black slacks that fit so well, they looked tailor-made. His body was the
