In a galaxy governed by the powerful and the privileged, Samantha, a young trainee healer, is thrust into the eerie halls of Blackglisten Healing Asylum—a foreboding institution that shelters elites plagued by rare afflictions. Drawn from her quiet life into a realm where royalty and warriors struggle against genetic diseases that warp their minds, Samantha must learn to survive in a world ruled by status, secrets, and a rigid caste of Alphas, Betas, and a long-vanished Omega class. When Samantha is unexpectedly assigned to the enigmatic Prince Ethan, an Alpha with an S-grade mental strength tormented by uncontrollable visions, her life becomes a delicate balancing act. Navigating the politics of A-Block, where youthful yet dangerous nobles hold sway, Samantha forms unlikely connections while guarding her own secrets—secrets from another world. But as Samantha begins to uncover truths about herself and the dark depths of the asylum’s residents, she realizes that the path to survival may come with steep sacrifices and alliances that test her very identity. Will Samantha adapt to the asylum’s unyielding ways, or will she find herself ensnared in the web of intrigue, power, and forbidden desire that defines Blackglisten?

Chapter 1: Haggerson Healing Facility

A bleak drizzle filled the air, as a gloomy, clouded sky loomed over the land, cloaking it in silence and sorrow.

Two figures dressed in grey-and-white uniforms with white hoods emerged from a side door of the Haggerson Healing Facility’s southwest wing. They carried a stretcher, covered in a white sheet, with stern faces and hurried steps.

“Another poor healer has fallen... I’m glad I wasn’t assigned to Zone B,” murmured a young girl in uniform, her voice tinged with a note of sadness.

“When is the new arrival supposed to report in?” asked her companion, a woman in a black-and-white nun’s habit, who carried a commanding presence despite her stout build.

“Very soon, Mother Superior,” the young girl replied, bowing respectfully.

After a ten-hour journey on an interstellar ship, Samantha had been sent from the Empire’s core to Haggerson, a small planet located at the far edge of the Federation's central star system.

The facility's designated transport vehicle picked her up from the spaceport, taking her west along Route 51. Moving farther from the bustling central town, they soon entered an ancient forest. The steady rainfall painted the greenery in rich, dark hues. Huge leaves of the towering trees blocked out most of the sky, shrouding the road in an eerie twilight that carried an undeniable chill.

Samantha gazed out the window, noticing how the plants here grew much thicker and wilder than those on her home world.

After what felt like a long drive, the vehicle finally passed through a large gate. Samantha looked up and took in the building before her, a towering, castle-like structure that rose seven or eight stories into the air, exuding a cold, foreboding aura as if it were an ancient prison.

The car stopped, and Samantha saw two women—a thin one and a heavyset one—walking briskly toward her under an umbrella. She quickly opened the door and stepped out. The cold drizzle pricked at her cheeks, making her shiver as she clasped her hands, trying to push down the rising unease.

“Samantha, the new apprentice healer?” the heavyset woman asked, her voice firm and assessing. She wore a Western-style nun’s habit, and a few golden curls escaped from beneath her white hood.

“Yes, that’s me,” Samantha replied, her voice trembling despite her best efforts to sound calm.

“I’m Yolanda, the head of Haggerson. You may call me Mother Superior, like the others,” Yolanda said, her title delivering a gentle warmth that took some edge off Samantha’s nerves.

“Yes, Mother Superior.”

Yolanda looked at Samantha, a beautiful, fair-skinned girl, and a glimmer of sorrow crossed her gaze, only to disappear in an instant. She then addressed the girl beside her, “Angela, take her to register.”

“Yes, Mother Superior.” The girl, Angela, handed her umbrella to Yolanda and stepped out into the rain, giving Samantha a quick glance. “Follow me.”

Samantha obediently followed her toward the building, while Yolanda watched her retreating figure, thin and fragile, like a delicate flower in a storm. What a pity… Another one assigned to Zone B.

Over recent years, countless young and beautiful betas had been sent to Zone B, home to powerful, aging elites. Even as head of the facility, she had no power to alter the Federation Empire’s orders. As a high-ranking cleric from the church, her authority here was limited, outranked even by the facility’s two senior S-class healers.

Yolanda tightened her grip on her umbrella, murmuring a silent wish that the girl would survive a little longer.

“Zone B’s senior healer is on leave today, so I’ll take you to Mr. Samuel for registration,” Angela explained as they walked down a dim, winding corridor.

“Mr. Samuel…?” Samantha repeated softly, almost to herself.

“He’s one of our senior healers in Zone A. Haggerson has two S-class healers. You probably read up on this before coming here.”

Samantha nodded, her hands clenching tightly.

They stopped before a door, and Angela stepped forward to knock softly.

“Come in,” called a calm, clean voice from inside.

Angela opened the door and spoke in a polite tone, “Mr. Samuel, the new apprentice healer assigned to Zone B needs your help with registration.”

As the door swung open, Samantha caught a glimpse of the man inside, sitting at a white desk. He had jet-black hair parted to the side, a high nose bridge, and wore gold-rimmed glasses over his refined, gentle features. His long, slender fingers held a pen, his nails neatly trimmed. He looked very young, barely in his twenties.

Angela’s face flushed as she cast him a quick, admiring glance.

“Understood.” Samuel set down his pen and looked up, his hazel gaze shifting from Angela to Samantha.

“Then, I’ll take my leave.” Angela’s blush spread down her neck as she excused herself and quietly shut the door behind her.

Samantha stood frozen, unsure what to do, just as she had felt three months ago when she had first been taken to the church’s shelter.

“Please, have a seat,” Samuel said, gesturing to the chair opposite him.

Samantha cautiously took a seat, her heart pounding.

“No need to be nervous.” He got up and poured her a cup of water, his calm tone giving her a surprising sense of ease and security.

“Thank you.” Samantha took the cup, surprised to feel its warmth. In the three months she’d been in this world, warm drinks had been a rarity; everyone here seemed to prefer ice-cold water. The warmth spreading through her hands reminded her of her distant home, calming her nerves slightly.

Samuel activated his wrist terminal and scanned her pupils, causing her information to appear on the light screen.

Name: Samantha

Age: 18

Primary Gender: Female

Secondary Gender: Beta with Deficiency

Address: None

Training Institution: Church Healing Institute, Third Branch

He frowned slightly, a hint of curiosity flickering in his eyes. “Why does it say you have no address?”

Samantha swallowed, her throat tightening. “Because…”

She couldn’t tell him she came from another world or explain her struggles. Three months ago, after a high school graduation celebration, she’d gone out to buy soy sauce for her mom, slipped, and when she woke up, she was here—stranded in an ABO world with six genders. Well, now only four, as she’d learned that Omegas had gone extinct over a hundred years ago.

She had been forced to accept this strange reality, unable to choose her own path, trained to be a healer, and sent to this remote facility.

“I don’t really remember. I woke up in the church shelter,” she said, her long lashes shading the growing mist in her eyes, making her look helpless and fragile.

Samuel’s gaze lingered on her, his eyes filled with an unspoken curiosity, something akin to a faint sense of familiarity. He glanced at her record, which showed she was assigned to Zone B. His brow furrowed.

The Federation often chose young, attractive beta healers for Zone B to appease its aging elites’ unsavory demands. But this girl… her features were even more striking, her wild brown curls resting on her shoulders, soft as milk, with a fresh, pinkish hue in her fair cheeks—she seemed delicate, like a porcelain doll.

In Zone A and Zone B, their duties rarely overlapped. But with Ryan absent today and a twinge of compassion, he decided to act. Samuel tapped his screen and reclassified her as a Zone A apprentice healer.

[Registration Complete!]

Seeing the notification on his terminal, Samuel deactivated it, lifted his eyes, and spoke to Samantha, “From now on, you’re an apprentice healer in Zone A.”

“Zone A…?” Samantha whispered, surprise flickering across her face.

“Unless, of course, you prefer Zone B?” Samuel asked coolly.

She quickly shook her head.

“Here,” he said, handing her a black and gold wristband bearing the emblem of Haggerson—a pair of interlocked olive branches. “This is your work band. It connects to the facility’s system. If you encounter any issues you can’t handle, use it to report them. Daily instructions will also be sent here.”

Samantha put on the wristband, and it clicked securely around her wrist. Just then, a sudden, urgent knock sounded at the door.

“Come in,” Samuel said, a trace of concern crossing his face.

The visitor was Yolanda, her expression tense and her curls poking out from her hood in disarray. “Mr. Samuel, it’s Prince Ethan.”

“Didn’t His Highness just finish his recovery at the facility last month?” Samuel asked as he prepared a medical kit, filling it with several transparent vials of a light blue liquid.

Samantha recognized them as suppressants she’d learned about at the training institute. The suppressant was designed to mimic Omega pheromones and help soothe agitated alphas.

“His Highness is an S-class alpha, which makes it harder for the suppressant to last. His mental energy depletes faster than an average alpha's, so his episodes are more frequent. My poor Prince,” Yolanda sighed, worry etched across her face.

Over two centuries ago, Omegas had started suffering from a strange disease that led to a decline in their fertility rates, until the last Omega passed away over a hundred years ago, ending the line forever. To preserve the aristocratic bloodline, nobles were forced to marry high-quality betas, but only alphas and betas were born.

With Omegas gone, alphas, who once paired with them, started to lose control over their aggressive tendencies.

Chapter 2: I Have No Glands

The Ethan they spoke of was the Crown Prince of the Moss Empire.

This alpha, endowed with S-Class mental prowess, had received the finest royal education since childhood. With exemplary grades and an exceptional intellect, he graduated at the top of his class from the Empire's Military Academy at just nineteen, heralded as the future of the Empire.

During her three months at the training academy, Samantha had often heard praise for him. Many young beta women openly admired the prince, harboring deep crushes on him.

Just a month ago, she had been fortunate enough to brush past the Crown Prince.

That day, she had been tasked by her teacher to deliver documents to the cathedral. It was more crowded than usual, and she struggled to weave her way through the throng, clutching her folder tightly.

Suddenly, the congestion parted, and her view widened dramatically.

In the center of the square stood a boy, surrounded by admirers, his features exquisite. He
