However, because of his affection for my mother, the elderly Alpha King Rupert overturned the decision and let my father build our home on the edge of Romanian borders, keeping us off of its territory and preventing us from interacting with its people.

While Romanians may view the crime as serious, it may appear unfair, inconsequential, and brazenly unjust to a foreigner. Let me clarify. Eurille, my father's true mate, died of depression and rejection after being rejected by my father. Werewolves cannot survive without their partner.

One that would guarantee for all time that my father could never reveal his face without suffering humiliation. My mother and father were seen with disdain when my uncle Xavier and Eurille passed away because it was my mother who had abandoned my uncle and my father who had turned down Eurille.

When I was born, my mother was thirty and my father was thirty-three. I inherited my mother's red locks and my father's emerald-green eyes. My cheeks were plump and full, and my complexion was as light as milk. My parents loved me for the first six years of my life. I was my mother's tiny angel and my father's shining light.

But the animosity and bitterness began to surface when I shifted for the first time at the age of six, the same age at which wolves shift for the first time in their life. What part of this was my fault? Many have remarked that I was an innocent baby born into sorrow and sin.

I didn't know my parents were betraying me, so why am I being punished for something I didn't do? When I was ten years old, I was old enough for others to confide in me and discuss their difficulties and secrets, which is when I found out about their crime. Esther, the eldest puppy sitter, informed me about our pack's history of living on the outskirts of Romania and the crime my parents committed that resulted in our exile.

My father and other pack members humiliated me as well, so it wasn't just my parents who suffered from this transgression. He repeatedly humiliated me and cursed at me.
