Annotation

“Truth or dare?” Alexander asked with a cocky grin. “The truth,” Theodore answered coldly. “Then tell me... why do you hate me so much when your eyes say something completely different?” After her father abandoned her family and left her mother disabled, Theodore Mavin swore she would never depend on anyone again. Determined to become a world-famous chef, she juggles school and multiple jobs until fate cruelly pairs her with Alexander Cole—the arrogant campus bully she despises—as his private tutor. What begins as blackmail and hatred soon turns into a secret attraction neither of them can resist. Just as Theodore starts falling for the one man she never thought she could love, she catches a glimpse of someone who looks exactly like her missing father walking into Alexander's mansion. Desperate for answers, she uncovers hidden documents, a shocking marriage, and a web of lies that links both their families in ways she never imagined. As betrayal tears their worlds apart and long-buried secrets come to light, Theodore must decide whether to follow her heart or the truth. But when the man she loves is connected to the man who destroyed her family, can love survive the ultimate game of truth or dare?

Chapter 3 the arrangement

Theodore’s POV

“Are you coming in or not,” he asked. I hesitated for a minute before pushing the door open. He was now in his bathroom, he turned on the shower and the glass door blurred out. But I could still see the silhouette of his movement. My p*ssy twitched at every movement he made, and I could tell that I was so wet already.

After a few minutes, he stepped out with a steamy drip trailing down his bare skin. His messy hair had my mouth parted without permission. He was so d*mn hot. I never thought I would ever see him in such a state. Not even in my wildest dreams.

He took a long glance at me, taking me in from head to toe in a way that made me feel like I was naked before him. Then, he walked up to me slowly like he was giving me a show, and I foolishly let myself get carried away. What was I thinking? Alex can never like me, not in a million years to come.

Shake it off girl—I said to myself but the more I tried to look away, the closer he got, making it seem impossible.

He leaned closer to me, bent his head closer to my neck and I shut my eyes as fast as I could. His shower gel fragrance dominated my whole senses. Cool, and fresh. “Wake up! This can never be for you, tsk you’re not even my type. I don’t do smelly girls,” he said as he snapped his fingers in my face, and walked back to his wardrobe.

“You wish,” I answered and rolled my eyes. “I’m your new tutor, you mum asked me to come discuss the time you’d be available so we can start tomorrow.”

“Mum’s got to be kidding me, you can’t be my tutor. She should at least get a s*xy tutor so it sticks, your smell alone is enough to make me lose concentration.”

The veins on my face twisted. Such an arrogant spoiled brat. I sniffed my body a little and I was sure I wore perfume before leaving my house.

“Listen, I have absolutely nothing to lose if I step out of here tonight. You, on the other hand, have a whole lot to lose, and you know that I can help you get what you want faster,” I pitched, but all that was in my head was the freaking five thousand dollars. I have to make him agree whether he likes it or not.

“How would you know what I need?”

“Good grades so your mum could give you some sort of gift I guess. I wouldn't know, but for you to have agreed to be tutored, then it has to be something so huge. Trust me we could work together,” I answered.

His brows curved up. He paused for a minute before slipping into his clothes.

“Fine, but we will do it my way. I start whenever I want.”

“No,” I objected. “I am the one helping you out here, you don’t get to make the rules.”

He scoffed and leaned a bit closer to me, so close that I could feel his breath on my face.

“You are annoyingly audacious, like that,” he said before moving away again. “So tell me, what’s your rule?”

I had to catch my breath before speaking. “I can give you thirty minutes to do your thing before we start your lessons, first because I don't want to be around you,” he scoffed and looked out the window. “Second because I don't live here…”

“Obviously,” he interrupted.

“Can you let me finish?” I snapped and he gestured a zipped-mouth motion.

“Good. Thirdly, your mother wants me to make sure she sees improvement in less time, so we have to work together even if you don’t like me, I don't either. Just make things a little easier. Do we have a deal?”

“Maybe, just know your boundaries.”

“Fine,” I answered. “I have to go now, 3pm after school tomorrow, I’ll be here,”

“Yeah yeah tutor, piss off.”

He grabbed his basketball, bounced it once in front of me and caught it swiftly. I flinched but by the time I opened my eyes, he was already at the door.

“Get out,” he ordered. I had no choice but to leave. He was starting to piss me off anyway.

I hadn’t taken two steps when a hand gripped my hair from behind and yanked me so hard that I fell to the ground. I winced in pain.

“Oopsy, I didn't see you there,” Audrey's voice rang in my ears. I stood up quickly and turned to her, Alex brushed past her and walked past us as if nothing happened.

“Audrey, good to see you too,” I said. Every vein in me wanted me to slap her hard in the face but I remembered the promise I made to their mother not to cause trouble, I had to compose myself.

“What gives you the right to step your filthy foot in my house? Have you even been to a place like this before? Let me guess. No,” she said and chuckled like she was having a good time. Just when I wanted to give her a piece of my mind. My phone buzzed, a message from the hospital came in.

“Sorry, Audrey, not today,” I answered and stormed out of the house. I could tell she was fuming as I left because she hates to be ignored and that brought a smile to my face.

Walking out of their house completely felt so peaceful, I thought I would never make it out but thank God I did. I took out my phone, I had just called a cab back to the hospital when Natan rode out of nowhere to me again.

“Gosh that took forever,” he said.

“What the f*ck? Are you stalking me now?” I snapped.

“You said something before leaving. I didn’t quite catch it, but I figured you probably wanted me to wait for you, ” he answered with a smile that didn’t reach his eyes. I glared at him, anger surged in me but I tried not to vent on him. Then my cab arrived and I rushed in without hesitation.

He stopped at the hospital in no time and I ran into my mum’s ward. She was already awake, waiting for me.

“Mum,” I called and she responded with a smile. I sat beside her and held her hand softly, she looked bright, it was as if she had never gone through those rough hours.

“See, I’m happy, there is no need to worry my darling. We are going to be just fine,” she said.

“The doctor told you already?” I asked. She paused and smiled.

“He did, and I feel bad that I put you in this position, I'm supposed to be the one protecting and providing for you, now you have to bear my burdens.”

“No mum, don’t say that,” I answered. Tears gathered in my eyelids but I refused to let them drop. “I will take care of us, Mum,” I added.

“How will you do that? You’re just a child. It’s rare to get a job at your age.” she said, her face filled with worry. I gave her a gentle squeeze and sniffed.

“I got a part-time tutoring job already, Mum, and the pay is good. It’s enough to clear your bills and feed us for a while. I promise everything will be fine, Mum. You know I'm a strong lady ain't I?” I asked playfully, trying to cheer her, and I felt a melt in my heart when she chuckled genuinely.

Night crawled in like a thief, I had no idea it had gotten so late outside. Each time I tried to nap, it never happened. My mind was clouded by Alex, his hot body and the way it dripped, his grip on his hard c*ck. I wondered what it would feel like inside me.

“F*ck! So shameless.” I whispered to myself.

Chapter 4 next to whom?

Theodore’s POV

“What? Did you say something, my dear?” Mum responded.

“No, Mum, just go to sleep, I'm trying to get some sleep too,” I answered. I lay quietly on the visitor’s bed close to her and took out my phone. My head won’t stop replaying Alex's groans continuously.

“You know, my dear, I think I want some of your chicken soup ramen. Could you make it for me tomorrow?” Mum asked.

I turned to her and answered. “That's fine mum, I'll be out of here early to make it for you before going to school.”

“Thank you. Goodnight my dear, I love you.”

“Love you too mummy,” I answered, and before I could count to ten, she was already snoring softly.

I plugged my earbuds in as my second hand hovered over the screen of my phone.

I knew what I planned to do was a crazy idea but I couldn't help it. I opened his Instagram page, not that I wanted to stalk him, or maybe I wanted to—don’t judge me
