Chapter 1
The dim lights of the strip club flickered like fireflies, casting a shadow on the faces of everyone, today will be different from every other day, we were filled with fear and immense nervousness while some of the others were curious and excited to meet the boss.
I haven’t seen him before, but I have heard a lot about him, the great Mateo Gabriel Blackwood, there are a lot of great stories about him, there is one particular girl that says a lot about him, Alexia claimed to have spent a night with him, she makes Avalon’s of being the only person he cares about.
I don’t believe her; she bluffed a lot, and she is mean to me, either way, she threatened us today, and she asked us to stay away from Mateo when he comes today, she made it clear that he belonged to her.
I was anxious to see him, I started working a couple of months ago and since then, he never visited until today, I was scared and anxious, he could fire me if I did something wrong, this job is good and I enjoyed doing it.
Presently, I am backstage watching Alexia dance, it’s going to be the first time I will be dancing in front of powerful men, once she is done, I put on a smile when I hear my name; I walk out with a smug on my face.
As I stepped onto the stage; the air thickened and the warmth enveloped me; I could hear hushed murmuring from the crowd, I usually like to focus my eyes on my person, it made me feel calm, it made me as though I were dancing for that one person.
My eyes scanned around the room and met piercing blue eyes, his intense gaze drew me in, and the song became to play, I placed my hand on every inch of my body, tracking my curves as I danced, his eyes never looked away from mine; his eyes held power and dominance.
I headed toward the pole and my hips moved against the music, I treated the pole like my personal dancer as my body swayed; I could tell I affected everyone in the room, I continued to dance until the music stopped; the moment that happened, I averted my eyes from the blue eyes and I felt a wave of shivers run down my spine; I noticed everyone was staring at me when I headed out of the stage and I headed to the backstage.
“Oh my God, you were great.” I heard a voice say, I turned around, and my eyes met Calista, she is the woman who controls everything here: she has been good to me more than anyone else, and she is my best friend, she has my back at all times.
Unlike me Calista is not a stripper, she controls the finance, and she is the only one allowed to make contact with the boss, I shook off the thought and looked back at her with a smile on my face.
“You liked it.” I asked.
“Everyone did; I think someone is jealous you took all the attention off her,” Calista said as she pointed toward an angry Alexia who stood by the end of the room.
Alexia needs to get over herself; she can’t always be the best if she realizes that we had been great friends.
“Enough with her, now that I’m done, can I leave.” I asked Calista.
“Not yet, the boss wants me to brief him on everything, how about you wait for me here when I’m done, I will bring back all the tips you got, I have a feeling you earned a lot tonight.” Calista smiled, and she kissed me on the cheek before she left.
I had been working on this dance for a week, I wanted to impress the boss and Calista Informed me that he was not someone to be played with; he liked Shane his work was taken seriously, and the last time he was here; he fired three girls, I didn’t want that to happen to me.
I helped myself with a glass of water before I settled on the couch, my eyes scanned around the room when they met Alexia and I felt a shiver run down my spine; I had no idea what to do when I realized she was making her way toward me with her crew.
It has always been Alexia, Amaya, and Aliza, the three bitches that make everyone’s life miserable, Alexia only cared about herself and her two friends can’t seem to have a mind without her, whenever she isn’t here; they always make sure to make me feel hurt, she criticizes my body and makes fun of my dance until I realized she was just jealous of me.
I pushed back the thought when she stood in front of me with a smile on her face.
“Where did you learn how to dance like that, did you do it to entice Mateo because you know he is mine and mine alone.” Alexia gritted through her teeth.
“Leave me alone, I want nothing to do with him,” I mumbled, I was about to speak when I saw Calista making her way toward us, I felt a wave of relief wash over me, I quickly stood up and headed toward her, I noticed she had a frown on her face.
“I need you to do me one favor.” Calista mumbled, “It’s a private dance.”
“You know I don’t do private dances, it’s my one rule,” I mumbled.
“He offered two hundred grand, and he is willing to offer more, I said no, but he won’t just listen,” Calista explained.
“Who will pay that much for a dance?.” I mumbled, I rolled my eyes in annoyance.
“Mateo Gabriel, he wants a dance with you, and he is not taking no for an answer.” She said, and I felt a shiver run down my spine.
Chapter 2
My eyes were filled with Alexia’s yelling in the background and Calista who was begging me to agree to this, I don’t have much choice but to do, she told me her work is on the line, he is willing to fire there if I don’t agree, I can’t let that happen to Calista. She has done a lot for me and when I came into the city without a job and nothing but a suitcase, she gave me shelter; she helped me with this job and because of her, I am able to have an apartment and I can pay my bills.
I knew I could never forgive myself if that happens, I just have to do the right thing and I know what is it; I have to get over my fear and do it, for Calista.
I pushed back every thought that I have, and I glanced at Calista.
“I’m going to do it, but just for thirty minutes, and he knew the rules, no touching.” I mumbled.
“He just wants a dance, nothing else I promise.” Calista said, and I smiled, I gave her one quick I hug before I headed into my room, I made sure to lock the d
