Taming His Broken Heart

A TRAGIC DEATH.

Tyler’s point of view.

I sat in my office working on a very important document. It was already dark outside. My secretary and I were the only ones left in the whole building. When my phone started ringing. I picked it up from the table and it was my mother calling.

"Tyler! You have to come home right now. I have something very important to tell you. Alexis is very evil." She said, with a shaky voice, as soon as I answered the call. My eyes widened, and I stood up immediately.

"Mom, are you okay?" I asked with a worried expression.

"I am not okay, son, Alexis is…." she said with a pause. She sounded frightened

"Mom, what about Alexis?" I asked.

"Just come home quickly, son," she said.

"OK, I am on my way home. I will be there in 5 minutes." I assured as I ran out of the office.

"Boss, you have a call." My secretary said, raising the telephone as soon as I walked past his table.

"Screw that call." I muttered, running out without looking back.

I got into my car and drove off at a fast speed.

"I hope she doesn’t try to harm my mother because I will make sure to put her behind bars for the rest of her life." I said angrily.

My name is Tyler Morris. I am a business tycoon and the C.E.O of Exquisite Builders. The company was brought up some years ago by my father and his best friend, Mr. Adams, Alexis' father, and became very successful over the years. The company was handed over to me 2 years ago after I got married to Alexis, as requested by Mr. Adams before his death. Alexis is a very beautiful and independent woman. She is very courageous, just like her father. Getting married to her wasn’t difficult because I already had a crush on her right from our childhood days. She was my first love.

You might think I'm very fortunate to have married my first love.but I curse the day I got married to her. These past few years have been a nightmare. Of course, she was lovely from the start until she started seeking power. She became a devil. She was the only child of her father and mother, so she inherited all their wealth, but that wasn’t enough for her. She wanted more power and the whole company all to herself.

She has been demanding a divorce right from the first year as a married couple. She knew very well that by getting a divorce she would get one third of my shares in the company, which was the reason she got married to me in the first place. Pretending that she loves me as much as I love her. I was such a fool. I refused to have a divorce, so she vowed to make my life a living hell. She has tried all she could to get me to sign the divorce papers by crook or by hook and she failed countless times. She sends threats and doesn’t care how many lives she has to take just to hurt me. How can I let her have it all? My father works all night and day to get these things.

Everyone around us thinks we are a very happy couple because of the show she puts up around them.

I was blocks away from our mansion when I spotted my mom’s car on the side of the road. She stood in front of the car, waving her hands at me to stop. It seems like her car broke down on the road. But why was she on the road? What is so important that she has to tell me that she can’t wait for me to get home.

I reduced my speed as I got closer to her. when suddenly another car with a higher speed overtook me, driving towards my mother.

"Mom!" I yelled. The car hits my mom, throwing her up in the air in front of my very eyes. The car drove off at a high speed. while my mom landed in the middle of the road. It happened so fast before my eyes, just like a movie.

I got down from my car and ran towards her, crying, as I carried her head with shaky hands, sitting on the floor.

"M-mom, wake up." I said with a cracked voice, tapping her cheek.

"A-Alexis," she tried to say as a drop of tears fell from her eyes.

"What about Alexis?" I asked with my heart in hand. She tried to talk, but her breath seized and her head fell to the other side. She was cold and breathless. I moved my hand from the back of her head. Her blood came rushing out. I looked at my hand and it was soaked in my own mother's blood.

"No!" I yelled at the top of my lungs as hot tears fell from my eyes, burning my eyes.

"Mother!" I yelled as I hugged her tightly. crying against her lifeless chest.

"No, I can still save her. she can’t be dead just yet." I muttered hopefully as I tried to put myself together cleaning my eyes. I carried her off the ground in a bridal style. I ran towards my car and laid her slowly on the back seat.

"Hang in there mom. I know you are not dead. you have to stay alive for me." I said as I ran around the car and got into the front seat. I looked back at my mom lying coldly on the seat soaked in her own blood but I still refused to believe she was dead. She can not be dead. I started the engines and drove off at high speed to the city hospital.

Alexis stood in a corner, watching him with an evil grin as he cried in pain. She wore a black gown and a hat with a black veil covering her face.

"I hope in your next life you won’t try to peek into other people's conversations, old lady. Now look at what you made me do." she muttered to herself, looking at his mom.

"Tick, tick, this is just so sad, poor Tyler. Watching his mother die in his own arms is so painful." She said, shaking her head.

"If only you had just agreed to sign those papers, then I would have been out of your house and your mother wouldn’t have found out my deepest secret." she stated.

"But you proved to be very stubborn. after all the things I have done. You made me take too many lives just for a signature. It's not fair honey." she added with pouted lips. as she watched him get into the car.
