BOOK THREE OF THE BOUND SERIES

SABAR ANDAR'S POV

" Find her and kill her " The words were so loud that they vibrated in my ears as I hid in the tunnels of the Timber shifter pack forest.

Two large black wolves stood side by side, just before the edge of the forest—where the trees marked the borders between Yukon town and Timber shifter pack forest lands.

By the size of the large wolves, I guessed that they were the Marks, brothers Alpha Lance and Walter Marks. Their eyes were red as they scented the air in hunting mode after they had killed all the members who were loyal to the Alpha Ducan Lucio of the Timber shifter pack, my husband, and now chased after me and my one-month-old son. I had listened in as they spoke before they shifted in wolf form that their mission was to wipe out the whole clan and leave no one alive. But things had not gone as planned as Alpha Duncan had found a way out of the pack and pushed me into the tunnels that led to the human town.

I lay low, hiding from them and they in turn remained hidden away not alerting the humans of their presence. I listened in as they made plans to go into the town, find me, and ensure that they killed me. I was already deeply wounded and knew that I could not survive another night. As I entered the town from the forest, I listened into my body and detected how deep my wounds were and my beast whined in pain knowing the hours were ticking in slowly. I hid in the bushes by the entrance of the town and waited for nightfall to come.

I had left the dragon realm years back, settled in the demon realm for ten years, and then one day Yasha-the seer from the demon realm took me to the human realm, where I met and fell in love with a shifter wolf Alpha Duncan Lucio and we got married thereafter. I moved from the demon realm and settled in the human realm but the pack members were displeased that Alpha Duncan had married a dragon shifter and not the selected Luna of the pack. Hence trouble began when I got pregnant and the pack members pushed for Alpha Duncan to step down and then an eminent attack came.

When darkness crept in, I left the bush and arrived at the end of the street at a corner shop that seemed to be open late at night. Sitting at the open window was a middle-aged woman, standing next to a middle-aged man, preparing to close the shop. I watched them silently as they laughed and worked hand in hand in harmonious harmony. A quick thought came to my mind: if my son were raised as a human, then he would survive until he turned 18. Hopefully, by then he would not have learned his origins or the fact that he was born a werewolf with dragon royalty blood and hence he would be safe.

I slowly approached the shop and when the woman turned around, I whispered and begged " Help me please" and finally buckled under the weight of pain and grief. The sobs came and they were loud and heartwrenching, which made the middle-aged woman rush to pick me up as the baby in my arms was fast asleep, oblivious to what was happening.

" Come in, please. Let's call a doctor for you. " The man comforted me. We walked into the shop and they hurriedly closed the door. I knew that time was running out as I felt my beast slowly slipping away. I swallowed a sob, handed my son to the woman, and pulled out the bag that I was carrying.

I bit back a sob and spoke up " There is one million dollars in the bag. This money should be enough to raise him until he reaches eighteen. Once he is of that age you can let him be and he will be able to fend for himself. I beg you to please help me. I will forever be indebted to you in this life and the afterlife" The middle-aged woman stared at the baby and then looked at me in fear. " Please, ma'am, I don't have much time. I will be dead soon. I know that this is a hard task for you. It's the only option I have for my son to survive. As a mother, I have to protect him and this is the only way" The couple looked at each other for a minute and then they finally nodded.

I turned around, left the shop, and ran until I got to the peer at the edge of the river. Life had been unfair for me just when I had found happiness. I left the Dragon realm of Mount Ladon and went to the demon realm and soon after the human realm that I thought was the best and found happiness. I had done what a parent does and sacrificed everything for him. And every step that took me away from my son was like a knife burying itself deeper and deeper inside me. Every step that I took away from my love Alpha Duncan and the pack was like my soul dying slowly. He had growled at me and demanded that I had to ensure that our son survived. Sobs racked my body and they sounded like I was choking.

I took out the knife in my boot, sliced my palm and as blood poured out, my beast breathed his last. I chanted the dragon magic words as I stared at the moon " Dragon Kings of Mount Ladon and the Moon gods of Yukon protect my son so that he can come back and claim what is rightful to him. Make him the Alpha King that he was born to be and the strongest shifter in the land. I offer my life to you" With that, I sl*t my throat as I fell into the river as darkness engulfed me and I welcomed death.

LUKA ROMAN'S POV 

As a young boy, I was happy to be raised by loving grandparents and parents. Pa told me that it was Grandpa who named me Luka Roman. I lived in a happy home and the love from my Grandparents was so immense as they visited me every weekend. I anxiously waited since they were a little bit late. I had prepared letters for them and was sure they would love them since as the norm on my birthday they carried them and read them later.

The doorbell rang and I rushed to open the door but the people standing on the other side were two police officers. “Is this Mr. and Mrs. Morris Romans' residence?”

“Yes,” I responded just as Ma walked to the door in worry. I listened in as they explained the news that Grandpa and Grandma had passed away in a car accident.

Ma kept screaming over and over again, “ No. No Noo.” Not true, not true... Not true”

Pa rushed over and held his Ma as she fell in his arms and collapsed. Tears streamed down
