Chapter 1 He Is the King

In the office of Phoenix Group, a middle-aged man in a suit handed a document to the tall man standing before him. “President, this is the newly arrived bankruptcy assessment report for Novaya Group. Starting tomorrow, Phoenix Group will fully take over all of Novaya’s operations.” Having said that, the man respectfully stepped aside.

The man who took the report looked up, a faint smirk curling on his lips. “Novaya Group… nothing but an ant. How could it ever stand in the way of Phoenix Group’s rise to power?” He tossed aside the report—which detailed the collapse of a multinational corporation worth four hundred million dollars—as if it were trash.

“Tell that old man from Novaya,” he continued, “that Phoenix Group is offering him thirty thousand dollars a year to work as a doorman.” He walked to the window, gazing down from the 72nd floor at the world below. A cool, almost arrogant smile touched his lips. “So… who’s next?”

Novaya Group was a well-known multinational corporation with over five thousand employees. Yet it went bankrupt in just one month—all thanks to the president of Phoenix Group: Kaleb Walton.

Noticing the middle-aged man still hadn’t left, Kaleb returned to his executive chair, crossed his legs, and gestured for him to go.

“Sir, there’s one more thing,” the man said, tension creeping into his voice.

“Speak.” Kaleb’s eyes narrowed slightly. He watched his subordinate’s nervous demeanor with clear disdain.

The man straightened up. “Sir, do you remember the global marriage announcement you published? All the qualified candidates will be waiting to meet you at the Royal Emerald Hotel tonight at eight. It’s already three in the afternoon… Will you be going back to prepare?”

Kaleb Walton, thirty-three years old, was widely considered one of the world’s most eligible bachelors. His dark, thick hair stood defiantly upright—much like his personality. His handsome face always carried an air of arrogance and unruly confidence. With tanned skin and a tall, athletic build, he looked like a Greek god descended to earth. Those who knew him agreed on one thing: he wasn’t just a man—he was a king reborn.

No woman had ever truly entered his life—except his mother. In his search for the perfect partner, he had announced a global marriage campaign. Over one hundred thousand women applied.

Tonight, at the Royal Emerald Hotel, the hundred most exceptional candidates had been selected. Hearing his secretary’s reminder, Kaleb smiled coolly. “Every woman who knows my name is already drooling over me. Prepare for them? Do you really think that’s necessary?”

The secretary nodded. “Understood, sir.” Then he quickly left the office.

At eight that night, the Royal Emerald Hotel—the only hotel in the world rivaling the UAE’s seven-star SAIL Hotel—was entirely reserved by Kaleb. In the opulent hall, women in elegant gowns whispered excitedly, their faces glowing with happiness. Limousines continued to drop off more beautiful guests. Tonight, one lucky woman would be chosen. She would have three months with Kaleb Walton—and possibly become his lifelong partner. The atmosphere was electric with anticipation.

At 8:30, the ten-meter-tall golden doors swung open. The crowd parted automatically. A strikingly handsome man in a sapphire-blue suit walked in calmly, followed by his entourage. Women’s eyes lit up at the sight of him; men watched with a mix of envy and admiration.

“Ladies and gentlemen, the President of Phoenix Group—Kaleb Walton!” The emcee upstairs nearly screamed the introduction.

Amid the applause, Kaleb walked gracefully up the curved staircase. Halfway up, he turned and flashed a charming smile. A few women actually fainted.

Once upstairs, Kaleb didn’t show himself immediately. Instead, he sat in a secluded corner, quietly observing the candidates.

The event began formally under the emcee’s direction. After watching coldly for a while, Kaleb leaned back into the sofa. His subordinates grew nervous seeing his lack of interest.

“Sir, we have profiles of every candidate,” a man in a white suit said eagerly, signaling an assistant to play a prepared CD.

Kaleb’s expression grew colder. “Is this what you selected for me? Out of one hundred thousand women… these are the best?”

The men around him almost choked. These hundred women were brilliant and beautiful—accomplished in arts, finance, politics—each with unique talents. Their figures were flawless, medically measured to perfection. Any one of them could have been a Miss World. And yet… he didn’t like a single one?

“We have plenty of single men in the company. Let them pick whoever they want. Handle the rest as you see fit.” With that, Kaleb stood and walked away.

Back in his car, the middle-aged man waited until Kaleb’s anger seemed to ease before handing him an international document. “Sir, this is an invitation from Starhaven University in London. They’ve invited you to speak at the London Economic Forum. They’ve also prepared several potential assistants. Would you like to review them?”

Kaleb waved his hand dismissively.

“Sir, I’ve heard the last two Miss World winners graduated from Starhaven. It’s said the women there are both talented and beautiful. Perhaps you could take this chance to visit? You never know…” The man spoke softly as Kaleb lounged lazily on the soft bed of the limousine.

Hearing this, a subtle, sly smile appeared on Kaleb’s face.

“My dear assistant… it seems I have no choice but to go to London.”

Chapter 2 Campus Encounte

“Beautiful and talented women at Starhaven University? I’d like to see what real beauty looks like. Hand me the file,” Kaleb Walton murmured, a hint of amusement flickering in his eyes.

Noticing Kaleb’s interest, his assistant continued, “Sir, this trip to London serves two purposes. First, it allows us to negotiate with local partners. Second, Starhaven is a world-renowned university—your alma mater. Delivering a speech there would be excellent publicity. I highly recommend you consider it. Of course, the final decision is yours.”

Without another word, Kaleb signed the document with a flourish and leaned back lazily into the soft seat.

Three days later, a ten-meter-long Bentley limousine, escorted by ten Mercedes-Benz cars, slowly entered the campus of Starhaven University. The grand spectacle drew crowds of students. Many young men watched with awe—these were cars they had only seen in magazines or online. Seeing them in person was something else entirely.
