But imagine his horror when he found out through his bully of a brother THAT HE WAS ADOPTED! And his real father was a mere janitor. After his identity is exposed, he is thrown out of the Rutherford mansion and taken back to his real father. “You are nothing but a poor janitor's son now,” his former brother would mock before bullying him with his gang. One day, Harper is thrown off a building by the gang and pronounced dead. His old family covers up the murder thinking they had gotten rid of him for good. BUT... Three years later, the hidden son of the biggest conglomerate in the country is unveiled as the new president. As he walks into the boardroom, everyone stands in respect. President Harper walks in with majesty and smirks at two men who had gone ghost white with fear. They were the men he hated the most—His adoptive brother who murdered him and his useless not-father who covered up the murder. How was Harper the janitor's son alive? And he was the new president of the conglomerate?! Harper smirks and approaches his former family. He clasped his former brother on the shoulder and whispers into his ear, “Get ready for my sweet revenge.”

Chapter 1

Harper Rutherford was not outright ugly but his body was frail and feminine, making the bullies referring to him as a fragile girl. He was handsome in the face, and was in high school. He was the top student of his class, only straight A’s and right now he was sitting at a test he knew he was going to ace.

“Now, make sure you do not have any implicating material around you,” Mr Wilson’s voice, their teacher echoed around the class.

“If you are caught cheating, you will regret it. No form of malpractice will be tolerated,” he finished his statement and the silence continued again with everyone focusing on their work. But someone was kicking Harper behind his knee.

“Would you quit it?” Harper whispered to his brother angrily. His brother was the complete opposite of him. Muscular, stubborn, spoilt and a complete dullard who couldn’t pass a test to save his life.

“Come on, happy boy, what good will it be if you aced this test alone? Help your brother please,” Fred, his brother teased in a whisper being conscious of Mr Wilson’s distance from them.

“Oh, now you know we are brothers? Why didn’t you think we were brothers when you almost pushed me over Crocodile bridge in Costa Rica,” Harper whispered in a low voice and scanned the class to make sure Mr Wilson was not in range.

“Come on now, happy boy. It was only a test of your confidence and courage, but too bad that was the only test you never aced.” Fred smirks.

“I don’t want to pass your stupid test and I would rather not be eligible to join your stupid gang. So don’t ever risk my life again just because of your pranks,” Harper whispered back, but his voice was rising little by little.

“Noted, now let’s exchange papers,” Fred ordered with an evil smirk spreading across his face.

“F*ck-off!” Harper retorted and their teacher noticed the argument between the boys this time.

“What in God’s name are you boys yapping about?” Mr Wilson questioned, almost puffing out steam from his head. He was fed up with the Rutherford boys, for different reasons actually. Harper was the brainiac, always throwing intelligent questions and giving problem defying answers. He was the smart one. But as for Fredrick, he was just an adamant spoiled brat backed up by a rich Daddy.

“You mind your business Mr Wilson, or have the peanuts you take as a paycheck given you the guts to scold me?” Fred rudely replied their teacher. Every one in class gaped at his audacity. And his gang began to murmur his chant. Mr Wilson became momentarily stunned and speechless.

“Will you quit being a pain in the *ss, I can’t believe we are from the same family!” Harper yelled.

“Well, that is because we are not,” Fred backfired. The whole class was in an uproar now. For a teacher like Mr Wilson, this was a nightmare.

“Quiet!” Mr Wilson barked and everywhere became as quiet as a graveyard. “I will behave like it never happened, Fred, as long as you leave that seat of yours and get yourself another one in the front!” Mr Wilson commanded. Fred crossed his arms on his chest an arched his brow staring at his teacher, he wanted to disobey at first but reconsidered what might happen if this situation got to the principal’s ears and then to his father.

“Now!” Mr Wilson said. Fred got up sluggishly from his seat and made his way to the front, glaring at his brother—Harper.

He was definitely cooking revenge with those eyes.

The rest of the test continued in silence and everyone was busy scribbling something on their answer sheets except for Fred, who was only shooting looks at Harper then at Mr Wilson. He probably did not even write anything for the test as his ultimate plan of exchanging papers with his brother had failed badly.

“Alright students, you time is up!” Mr Wilson said and stared at his class with a one-sided grin. “You can now submit your answer sheets.”

After submitting their papers and the students were heading out of the class, Fred walks up to Harper and jabs him in the shoulder.

“Hey! What was that for?” Harper expressed with his arms spreading out in defense.

“What did you think it was, b*st*rd?” Fred replied, with his gang-members, Brennan and Libram, teaming up behind him, getting ready to pick a fight.

“Don’t you dare call me that again or Mom will hear about it,” Harper retorted hotly.

“And what will she do, happy boy? Tuck you in like the scared little chick you are?” The class went up in a roar of laughter by onlookers who refused to go in order to witness the fight between the Rutherford brothers.

Harper stared at him, fighting between two opinions in his head. Looking at Fred who had taken pleasure in constantly boggling his life, he concluded that it would be a waste of time to retaliate as all this was a bait to make him do so. He hissed and walked out of the class.

“Yeah, that is all you can do as an illegitimate son, run away until you reach a cliff and fall off it,” Fred mocked and his gang cheered. Everyone went their separate ways seeing that nothing happened after all. Their hope of watching a fight was dashed.

“He is just being a jerk as usual,” Harper muttered to himself as he walked down the hallway to his locker to get his things.

“There is no way I’m a b*st*rd. I grew up as a Rutherford all my life and I am the firstborn son of billionaire parents,” he continued to mutter to himself, thinking over what gave his own brother the guts to say that. While yet in this thought, Libram flashed pass him and snatched his bag immediately.

“Hey! Stop right there you!”

But Libram definitely wasn’t listening and Harper had no choice than to takeoff after him. After racing for some time in their vast school compound, Libram, because of his large body size was becoming winded and Harper who was slender quickly reached him but just as he was about to get hold of Libram, Libram tossed his bag to Brennan coming from beside him.

“Enough of all this pranks, give me my bag, I need to get going!” Harper shouted at the boys in frustration as Brennan waved the bag at him, a signal for him to come and get it. He sprinted off after Brennan again, this time, more determined than the last. Finally, he laid hold on him in the parking lot. Brennan being fully aware that he had been caught, surrendered the bag.

There was a piece of note attached to his bag and it said, 'Say hello to the beginning of your nightmare, b*st*rd.'

He realized it was in Fred’s handwriting. Again his brother called him b*st*rd, this was not just out of mere hate, there was something more to it. He thought.

He slowly lifted his head and was alarmed to see their personal Cadillac Lyriq which was supposed to pick the both of them from school, speeding away. He yelled for it to stop and began to run after it but it was driving away at full speed and it was too late for Harper to catch up. He had missed his ride back home. He stopped running, angry and out of breath. He looked at the car speeding away and saw Fred’s head poke out of window. He lifted his arm and gave Harper the middle finger.

Harper stood looking so pathetic and pitiable. Why did his brother hate him this much?

Chapter 2

Harper stood in the middle of the road, sweaty, breathless, angry and looking pathetic. How on earth was he going to make it home now? His luxurious ride was gone. Oh how he wanted to punch Fred in the eye. But he couldn't do that. Their father would always take Fred's side, and their mother would be disappointed he was becoming violent.

Harper looked back and saw the school bus assembling. That was his only chance home. He very well couldn't walk the distance or he'd faint halfway there and he had no money to take a taxi.

His parents hated public transportation and had warned them never to take one, which included the school bus. Well, he'd have to disobey that order because of his nasty brother.

He sighed then began to walk towards the bus.

Harper boarded the bus and found himself a seat at the back, where he will be reserved from socialization. Plenty of murmurings were already going on as to why the son of a billionaire is going home on a bus. But he didn
