Chapter 1 Discussion

"Sir, he is waiting outside," the assistant says to the figure sitting on a chair far away in the room early in the morning. As the bitter fragrance of cigarette ashes crushed in the ashtray, the ice cube fell clacking into the glass with every stroke of the wristwatch resting on the table.

"I will be right out," the harsh and hard voice, filled with guilt and with a chilling tone, says while holding a pistol, with the only visible face of a young handsome man and the icy sound of a lighter clicking.....

"Miss, your father called you to his office," the female assistant, holding a file in her hand, informs Rose. Rose rubs her left eye and adds, "Hold on, let me get dressed."

"Sweety, we need to talk about something," Rose's father enquired as Rose entered her father's office. Rose's father was sitting on his own working chair with a bunch of papers and with the cabinet open, which was filled with his business files and rubies, starting from jewels to sharp-pointed cuts over various sizes of diamonds.

Rose noticed the mess with her father's condition, the sweat on his hands while he was writing big paragraphs for the establishment of his collection. The chill he gave while his eyes were fixed on the papers made it seem as if Rose was just a bystander to him and not his own blood and sweat.

The time she discovered that her mother had been sick for two years and that her father had the second most popular company in his hands was when she was a mere teenager. He would offer and sign big deals and promote the company to its peak position. As things got under control, Rose's mother passed away, and her father occupied himself with liquor until he damaged himself.

Indeed, Rose's father was a Nobel laureate.

Rose was at the age of twenty by the time her days were as miserable as her father's were. Rose began to work as a designer on her own, but her mental state of sadness caused her to work as a lower-rank designer until her father offered her a contract to take his place and become the vein of the company, which would support him and those who would work under him.

Rose had not anticipated taking the initiative on her own, but she became consumed with the prospect of managing her father's well-known company. After three weeks had passed, she went to her father's house and introduced herself to an ordinary friend of hers, making a proposal to take the spotlight away from Rose and give it to her friend Lily.

Lily accepted Rose's proposal over one condition: her religion must remain intact with her, and her way of talking must remain professional. Lily was adopted by her cousins, and the three of them lived in Japan for three years after her mother and father met with an accident. So now she is on her own, raising three cousins. When she was a young child, Rose was introduced to her by her cousins, who own the well-known 'Kakashi' restaurant in Japan. Rose used to visit their establishment frequently for coffee and pies for breakfast, but Lily never had the opportunity to meet Rose's family, as her father was the one who sent her all the way to Japan to learn how to speak the Japanese language on her own. Lily received an online offer to travel to San Francisco in order to compete for the best spaghetti and meatballs gravy maker chef position. She accepted the position and ended up being the deserving chef, but she was forced to leave because the restaurant's owner was in debt and unable to expand the opportunity to make the restaurant the best one. Following the greetings with Rose's family, Rose's father didn't say anything and excused himself from the situation. Rose was dissatisfied, and Lily wished her well as a nice and deserving friend of hers. Upon calling Rose to his room, Rose's father explained that this coming weekend there was a womanising party throw-up at the Collins company, which was his company's third encounter, and that Rose would be confronted with the modesty and most outstanding companies that stood on the outskirts of town. While Rose was unaware of the company, she was aware that it was well-known for producing the most attractive and effective perfumes that were uncommon in the entire country; those perfumes were naturally made with herbs and different types of flowers, which gave an aroma of sweet smell. And that the youngster who was the CEO of the company was well-known, and thus he disliked any kind of get-together or noisy party but preferred to throw an expensive party rather than a cheap one. Rose accepted the deal and closed the outcome from her father's mouth as an explanation of how much he appreciated her help and support. Rose was under the impression that she would most likely end up having a nightmare rather than an expensive shitty dream like the royal brats. She had always wished for a more modern way of life, rather than waking up in a gown with a bow on it and applying her make-up before going about her business. The way of life of the father and the way of life of the mother were diametrically opposed. Rather than settling things for the time being, they chose to live as a handful of family members who were always on the move, laughing and crying at the same time. Rose didn't want to make her friend feel bad or guilty, so she sent her the papers she had designed and asked her to submit the application on her behalf. Rose thought, 'Shall we simply stop things in their tracks the way my father had done years ago? No, I'll create a new control to get a better understanding of it.' As soon as Rose woke up the next morning, her breakfast and shower were ready as usual; she dressed up in a pink dress and went to greet her father in the morning, but she couldn't find him and instead asked one of the maids if he had left for his business work in Indonesia, to which the maid replied that he had and that he would not be returning home for three to four months because of the nature of his work in Indonesia. Rose assumed that her father fervently believed that his sweet little girl would propel his company to a very high position, but Rose was nothing like that. She had always been arrogant and rude in front of large groups of people, but because her father had left her with no choice, she took the opportunity to destroy everything that her father had built and simply wanted to experience the best way of living that life had to offer her ahead of her time. Rose left her house and went to the Mall Road to look for dresses for the evening party that her father had mentioned earlier, while her phone rang in her left hand. When she saw the lock screen, she was tense that her father had called so suddenly and that she was too backed up to even talk to him about anything anymore. She picked up the phone and inquired as to his well-being. Her father replied in hushed tones, "I am having a sudden meeting with Mrs. Joseph of Fifth Avenue and the others as I have a deal to propose to them," and asked if she could visit his office and look through some of the files where there was some information filed under the company. Rose declined the matter; her father did not return her call.

Chapter 2 The evening

After a while, Rose left the shop and dialled her driver's phone, telling him that if her father calls them, they should not assist him any further, before hanging up and sighing heavily.

Later in the evening, Rose was all ready and dressed up in a white plain dress with white high heels and a bouquet of pink tulips; she finally took a look in the mirror and smiled; her hair was perfectly pinned and formed into a bun with a perfect shine to her black hair. Rose's eyes were the shade of grey that captured the attention of maid, and the white, plain dress was so simple that the shine of the silk cloth was both soothing and relaxing.

Astonished by Rose's beautiful face, the maid couldn't take her gaze away from her as she walked out of the room with a light touch of make-up on her face as she walked out of the room. Rose inquired of the maid as to whether she was missing anything else that she should bring with her to the evening party.
