Lana POV Today was our sixteenth birthday and of all the days my brother Alpha Ryker had to call an Alpha meeting on his twin sister’s birthday. To say we were p*ss*d off was an understatement. Arial and I watched from the upstairs window as Alpha’s from all over filed out of their cars before being greeted by our father and Ryker. My twin sister Arial hated the meetings just as much as me. It was one thing being twins, it was another being Lycan hybrid twins, and we always found that we copped the most stares. Once we came of age and didn’t get our wolves or shift, we knew we differed from our brother. Our mother was a direct descendant of the Moon Goddess, therefore, so are we. Our brother inherited most of our father’s traits, he shifted when he was twelve and was what we call an early bloomer, but he didn’t share my mother’s Hybrid gene. Yes, he was a direct descendant like us, but for some reason he only received certain traits while my sister and I were exactly like our mother. We had no wolves and were half vampire and half Lycan. We were both saddened when we didn't get our wolves. Ryker always spoke of how much he loved his wolf growing up. But we still had each other. Being twins means you always have another half, a best friend for life, and my sister and I were incredibly close. So close, my mother sometimes had trouble telling us apart, the only giveaway being that our scents were different slightly.

"I don't know who moved first. But suddenly my mouth was on his and I was kissing him like I was oxygen and he'd been drowning...I didn't even know his name." I'm Harper, and my life exploded the day I caught my husband with my best friend. He handed me divorce papers like I was disposable. So I ran to LA, got drunk, and let a stranger make me forget I was ever a wife. One night. No names. No rules. Just the kind of heat that sears itself into your bones. I thought I escaped it when I slipped out of his bed before sunrise. I was wrong. Because at my next job interview, he's sitting across from me, the stranger from that night. Hardin Wolfe. Billionaire. Cold. Dangerous. "I've been searching for you," he tells me, and my entire body remembers him. I need this job to rebuild my life. I need revenge on the people who destroyed me. But working for Hardin means late nights, closed doors, one hotel room on business trips...and a man who doesn't understand the word no when it comes to me. I try to keep my distance. He gets closer. Too close. Until one night on a work trip, I stop fighting it—and everything between us ignites again. Then I miss my period. The baby could be his. Or it could be my ex-husband's from our final, toxic goodbye. Now my ex wants me back. Hardin is hiding a secret that could break me all over again. And I'm carrying a child who might belong to the wrong man. Revenge tastes sweet. Desire burns deep. And loving either of them might destroy me.

"You feel so f**king good." a deep voice, one I knew all too well, grunted. I watched my husband Daniel and my assistant Esme banging each other right on my table. My hands flew to my mouth as realization dawned on me, the shock from seeing and hearing them made me shift back, stumbling against the table, and I pushed the chair backward. "Did you hear that?" I quickly dodged and stepped back from the glass view. "What?" Daniel hissed impatiently. "I think I heard-" Esme trailed off, "Never mind, just hurry up already." "No need to rush, there is still time before the b*tch lands." His statement was like a slap to my face, my ears were ringing. "Really?" "Yes, baby, a few more rounds for us." "Once she's back, I can't have you." "I know, but it's just for a while, you know it's you I love, it's her money that's keeping me." Their mixed chuckle ran across the room, traveled up my nerves, and made my heart sink to my stomach. *** When Elsie uncovers the affair between her husband and her trusted assistant, her world shatters. The dual betrayal by the man she loved for years and the assistant she relied on leave her devastated and nearly hopeless. But after the initial shock, Elsie regains her strength. She contacts a lawyer to prepare for divorce and makes a bold move- switching jobs and joining the company of her longtime rival, Albie. What starts as a search for solace turns into something much more dangerous. Albie's relentless pursuit leaves Elsie feeling increasingly drawn to him, despite her resolve. Will she lose herself in a passion she never expected, or find a new path to healing?
