Sinopse
Word on the street was that I was a fake and they weren’t wrong. I was only ever the replacement bride. The illegitimate, wolfless omega dragged to the altar after my half-sister, Amber was presumed dead. For years, I played the dutiful wife to Alpha Enzo—the man I had secretly loved long before he ever belonged to her. He was kind, but the Knox Valley Pack never let me forget I was second best. Then Amber returned. Within months, she gave Enzo what I desperately tried and failed to give him: a pregnancy. Brokenhearted, I prepared to walk away in silence, carrying a secret of my own I was pregnant, too. Fate, however, had darker plans. Framing me for a vile attack that cost Amber her baby, Knox Valley branded me a monster, stripped my title, and exiled me into the cold. Five years later, the forgotten Luna returns. She's no longer the helpless puppet they threw away. Backed by the legendary White Lotus Pack as the blood granddaughter of Alpha Corvin, she steps into the light with her adorable daughter, Isabel, by her side. Meeting Enzo again ignites a dangerous storm. Driven by an irresistible pull he can no longer suppress, the powerful Alpha finds himself helplessly obsessed with the ex-wife he banished and deeply attached to the little girl who calls him her Alpha Grumpy. Two pregnancies. One fake heir. A five-year web of lies about to shatter Knox Valley. And worst of all, the child Enzo claims as his own might be the ultimate deception and his biggest heartbreak yet.
Chapter 1: Enzo's Promise
Vivienne
“It’s been over two years, and still… no child, Enzo!”
I stand frozen outside the heavy oak door, one trembling hand pressed against the wood as my mother-in-law’s voice slices through the silence.
" Two years. Two long, empty years.”
My chest tightens painfully.
“You are a strong, healthy Alpha,” she continues. “The healers swear that wife of yours is fertile too. But the pack is getting agitated. They whisper behind our backs. They wonder what curse we’ve brought upon ourselves.”
I squeeze my eyes shut, fighting the burn of tears.
“Maybe we should never have forced this marriage,” she says softly. “Maybe we were wrong to push her into your arms. We angered the gods with that sudden replacement. We should perform another purification ritual… for this chosen mate of yours. It seems she has brought us doom.”
Her words were harsh.
But the worst part is, she isn’t completely wrong.
I was never supposed to be here. Never supposed to wear her title. Never supposed to share his bed. I am the illegitimate daughter of the Knox Valley Pack’s Beta, the bastard child born from sin. My mother knowingly seduced a mated man, and when she fell pregnant, she refused to rid herself of me, even though his true wife was carrying Amber at the same time.
Ironically, we were born on the same day.
She died hours after I entered this world. So did my father. Sometimes I wonder if the shame finally killed him. Most nights, I lie awake wishing she had aborted me. At least then I wouldn’t have to carry this heavy guilt.
Amber and I grew up side by side, but the difference was always painfully clear. She was pure Beta blood, loved, respected, destined for greatness. I was the unwanted omega.
And still… I fell desperately in love with him.
Enzo.
Our Alpha.
He was the only one who ever defended me. When the pack spat insults at me for my mother’s sins, Enzo would look at me with those intense eyes and say, “You are not your mother. You have your own life to live.”
How could I not love him?
I buried those feelings so deep they almost killed me. Because he was hers. He had bonded with Amber. They were meant to be.
Until the attack.
One brutal night ripped her away from us. The whole pack mourned the death of their future Luna. Enzo shattered.
A few months dragged by. The pack remained frozen in mourning. And I… I never got my wolf.
When the full moon rose, I stood among the others with desperate hope. Nothing happened. No pull. No whisper inside my chest. I remained painfully human.
The whispers grew louder that night.
“Amber would have shifted beautifully,” someone muttered. “I bet her wolf would have been radiant silver.”
The pack had always planned for a marriage between the Alpha and Beta lines. It was supposed to be Amber. But she was gone. The priestess declared that I was still Beta Simeon’s blood, bastard or not. The pack erupted in outrage. No one wanted the unwanted omega as their Luna.
No one… except Enzo.
He looked at me that day with tired eyes and offered the smallest crooked smile, the same one that had stolen my heart years ago. Then he asked me to marry him.
I couldn’t say no.
Even though I knew it was duty. Even though I knew he was only doing what the pack needed.
The marriage was one of convenience.
My feelings never were.
---
Enzo was a loving husband in his own quiet way. He made sure I never lacked for anything. Our life together was peaceful with gentle mornings, shared dinners, and nights where he held me without demanding more than I could give.
But the pack still didn’t accept me.
They tolerated me at best. Many believed I wasn’t fit to be Luna, so his mother continued to handle many of the traditional duties. During one tense conversation, she had looked at me with cool detachment and said, “Just give us heirs. That is your most important role now.”
Yet even that, I was failing at.
Years had passed since our marriage, and my womb remained empty. Every new moon without news of a pregnancy pushed me deeper into despair. I tried everything — every herb, every ritual, every old remedy. I turned myself into a living experiment.
Still, nothing.
Through it all, Enzo remained my rock. His quiet support only made me love him more.
So I poured my heart into the only thing that brought me peace: my small floral business.
I had always loved scents, the way certain flowers and herbs could heal, calm, or uplift. The pack might not have liked me, but they couldn’t deny the effectiveness of my creations.
---
“The candles you gave me the other day really worked,” an older lady said warmly as she stopped by. “Not only do they smell divine, but the nightmares have finally stopped.”
I smiled back at her, a genuine spark of pride lighting in my chest.
Then came the inevitable sting.
“Too bad she can’t make one to fix her own bad luck… or boost her fertility,” the second woman added with a cruel sneer. “It’s been over two years now, and still no child.”
I sighed softly and forced the smile back onto my face.
---
The drive back to our Alpha house was short. The moment I stepped out of the car, I sensed him.
Enzo.
His warm, familiar scent cedarwood, rain, and something uniquely him wrapped around me before I even saw him.
“Enzo!” I squealed, dropping my bag and running straight into his arms.
He caught me easily, laughing as he twirled me around.
“You’re back!” I breathed, burying my face in his chest. “I thought you wouldn’t be home until the day after tomorrow.”
He grinned, that crooked smile I adored pulling at his lips.
“I rushed everything and came home early,” he murmured. “You know I can’t stay away from you for long.”
He pulled out a delicate necklace a silver chain with a small moonstone pendant and then a single rare flower with soft lavender petals and faint silver veins.
"Enzo it's beautiful." I whispered.
"This must have been very expensive Enzo."
“There’s nothing too much when it comes to my wife,” he said softly, pressing a tender kiss to my forehead. “You deserve beautiful things.”
I rose on my toes and kissed him, pouring every bit of love I felt into it.
Later, after dinner, after we made love.
"What’s on your mind?” Enzo asked softly, his strong arms sliding around my waist. He pulled me back against his warm chest, his chin resting gently on top of my head.
I stayed silent for a moment, tracing lazy circles on his forearm with my fingertip.
"Did my mother say something to you again?” he asked, his voice low and edged with frustration.
I shook my head, turning slightly in his arms so I could look up at him.
"It's not that."
It wasn’t just her. It’s what half the pack has been saying
Enzo did his best, he always did. He shielded me as much as he could, punished those who spoke loudly against me, and made sure I lacked for nothing. But he couldn’t force the pack to love me. He could demand respect, but love and acceptance? Those couldn’t be commanded. And at this rate, I wasn’t sure I would ever earn them.
From being the unwanted bastard child of a scheming omega… to falling in love with a man I had no right to want, and then actually marrying him.
"I love you, Vivienne,” he said, turning me fully in his arms until we were face to face. His dark eyes searched mine with such sincerity it made my chest ache. “No matter what. You know that, right?”
I nodded, blinking back the sting in my eyes.
“When the goddess’s time is right, you and I will have cubs,” he promised, his voice steady and reassuring. He cupped my face with both hands, his thumbs brushing away a stray tear I hadn’t realized had fallen. “So don’t worry yourself sick over it. I love you.”
He leaned down and pressed a long, tender kiss to my forehead, then another to my lips soft, lingering, full of quiet devotion.
And I believed him.
In that moment, wrapped safely in his arms, I truly thought his love was unshakable.
---
But those beautiful words were rendered completely useless the moment his original mate, my half-sister Amber, miraculously returned.
And what I had struggled and suffered for years to give him… an heir… came so easily through her.
Chapter 2: My husband's mate returns
Vivienne
It had started as just another ordinary day.
Until the news shattered everything.
Amber was back.
The words ripped through the pack like lightning. Children abandoned their games and ran toward the central hospital, laughing and shouting her name. Adults dropped whatever they were doing, their faces lighting up with disbelief and joy. The entire Knox Valley Pack had been thrown into instant, chaotic celebration.
My half-sister had returned.
My legs moved before my mind could fully catch up. I rushed to the hospital, heart hammering with a messy tangle of emotions relief that she was alive, fear of what her return meant, and a sick, guilty twist in my stomach that I couldn’t quite silence.
As I hurried through the corridors, people stared. Some openly pointed. Others didn’t even bother lowering their voices.
“There she is… the placeholder.”
“Look at her rushing over like she actually cares.”
“She must be terrified
