I generally love the entire setting, and I love how the future Alpha and Beta wolves are so drawn to their mates. But the fact that the Beta and his gamma never showed any affection towards Maureen because she wasn't their biological child is just sad. It is a very thought-provoking novel that explores love, loyalty, and the painful complexity of human relationships. The story pulls you in with raw honesty, forcing you to sit with uncomfortable truths rather than look away.
