A Deal With The Devil: The Alpha’s Dilemma

The scent of old parchment and dust wafted through the air, a breath escaped my lips transporting me to the countless times I have dreamed of this moment, the feeling of getting married to the one I love, but life had other plans, now I stood as a bridesmaid, about to witness the man I love exchange vows with my sister Violetta, the irony was suffocating.

I could hear noises as I headed in, the thoughts that filled my mind was vile when I walked into her room to find her in bed with someone else.

“Violetta.” I yelled, she jolted in her position while the man tried to arrange his briefs.

She looked back at me with anger within all her eyes, she motioned to the man, and he quickly walked out of the room.

“What the hell Calla?” Violetta yelled.

“You are cheating on Zoran.” I whispered, it didn’t feel real; I didn’t want to it, how can she cheat on someone like him?

“Shh.” She whispered, heading to the door, she closed the door from behind and I watched as she adjusted her dress; she had a radiated smile as she adjusted her veil.

“What are you doing Violetta, you are about to get married to the Alpha in five minutes.”

“Don’t you think know that.” She yelled back at me, I didn’t understand why she was so angry, she was the one that cheated.

“What are mom and dad going to think when they find out, they worked hard for this to happen?” I said, the moment the word escaped my lips she headed toward me.

Her hand found its place to my face, and she held on to my jaw tightly, my eyes filled with tears as I looked back at her, her grip was tight, it was not the first time she tried to hurt me.

“You are not going to tell me, and no one is going to believe you, I have worked so hard toward this, and you are not going to ruin it for me.” She whispered-yelled at me.

“I won’t tell them.” I whispered in fear, I knew no one would believe me if I did, and they would think I was trying to ruin the marriage.

She smiled at me before she pushed me toward the door.

“Send mom in and make sure no one knows about this.” She said again and I nodded. “We don’t want last time repeating itself.”

“I won’t tell.” I whispered against my breath before I headed out of the room.

My chest tightened again my chest, I felt a wave of adrenaline washed over me as I headed out of the outhouse and I walked into the church, I found myself sitting in my former position.

I pushed back the tears that were threatening to fall, and I knew there is nothing I can do about this.
