Chapter 1 : Is She Serious?

"Why would she contact me again? Didn't she dump me three days ago?" Martin muttered softly.

Martin's brow furrowed as his gaze fell on the flat object he was holding. For ten seconds, he was silent, his mind already wondering. Until finally, his phone screen went off, followed by a disconnected ringtone. He had just ignored the call connected to his cell phone. Until the call came again from the same number, he did not immediately pick it up.

The man who wore a black suit with a white shirt was standing still with his lips pressed together. His eyes did not move from the background of the cell phone.

Exhaling angrily, Martin finally picked up the incoming call for two reasons. First, he wanted to know why Taylor, his ex-girlfriend, was contacting him again after asking for a breakup three days ago. And lastly, he didn't want to second-guess himself. Honestly, his feelings for her couldn't be eliminated. He still loved her.

Swiping the phone screen, Martin immediately stood up from his seat and pressed the sophisticated object towards his ear. He walked slowly with one hand in his pants pocket. The man was now standing in front of a large mirror, from which he could see the hustle and bustle of the capital city's streets below.

"Where have you been? It took you so long to answer my call." Across the way, Taylor spoke in a slightly annoyed tone of voice.

"What do you need to call me?" Martin replied, his voice gruff and unfriendly. He was still upset about what happened three days ago, in a restaurant, when Taylor suddenly said a sentence that Martin never expected. She asked for a breakup. It had been a night of surprises for him.

"Do you have time now?" Taylor asked.

"What do you want?"

"Answer my question first, do you have time?" Taylor urged.

Martin sighed softly. He raised his hand and glanced at the watch wrapped around his wrist. "I have an important meeting in an hour. Why? Just talk to me directly."

"It's not very pleasant over the phone like this." Taylor said quietly, then continued. "Your meeting is in an hour, right? I have something to tell you. Do you want to stop by the restaurant?"

"Which restaurant?" Martin replied quickly. Hearing the word restaurant, for some reason his brain always went to the incident of Taylor asking him to stop loving her again. "Oh, that restaurant yesterday? When you dumped me?"

"Martin."

"What time?"

"Now, if you can, I'm here. It just so happens that this restaurant is not far from your office. Is that possible?"

"Is it really that important to come? Can't it be over the phone?"

"No, I want you to come here. It's important, okay?"

Martin's head nodded slowly, even though Taylor couldn't see it. "Okay, I'm on my way."

"Okay, See you!"

Martin didn't answer again, he immediately turned off the phone and put it in his coat pocket. Then, he grabbed his wallet and car keys that were lying on his desk. Next, he walked out of his office.

Martin walked towards the employee cubicle and said something. "I'm going out for a while, if there is anything in the office, call me directly, okay?"

Devi, one of the office employees whom Martin trusted because her work was always good, neat, and precise, nodded her head. Before her boss left, Devi boldly asked a question. "Where are you going?"

"I have a little business outside, I'll go first."

"Yes, sir," Devi replied with a nod, and she returned to her seat after her boss left.

In no more than fifteen minutes, Martin had arrived at his destination. He entered the restaurant and swept his gaze around. He searched for where Taylor was sitting. Until finally, his eyes were transfixed when he saw what he was looking for.

Taylor was sitting with a man, right on the bench where she had dumped him exactly three days ago.

Wow, that's fucking great!

Martin smiled wryly, before moving with long strides towards the table where Taylor was sitting.

Taylor immediately noticed Martin's presence. She waved her hand high as she smiled widely. After Martin was near her, she said happily. "Hi! You've arrived at last. Let's sit down, please!"

Obeying Taylor's request, Martin nodded. He looked at her again. Taylor was still as beautiful as ever. Damn it, he couldn't her yet.

"Martin, what would you like to drink and eat? Let me order for you."

"I can't stay here too long, I have to get back to the office. So, what's up?"

Taylor's lips let out a soft chuckle. "There's no need to rush. You said to yourself that there's a meeting in an hour. There should still be forty-five minutes."

"Well, technically it is, but I have other work to do," Martin said coldly. His eyes glanced at the man sitting next to ex-girlfriend. Only for a moment. The man was seen hugging Taylor's waist possessively. He looked away, unable to look at him anymore.

"That's too bad, I wish you could stay a little longer."

"Get to the point, will you? I'm on a time crunch," he continued. Yes, his lips did say those words. But he wasn't in a hurry. It's just that Martin was sick of seeing Taylor's closeness with other men. It made his heart ache.

Taylor nodded her head, then she took something out of her bag and thrust it towards Martin.

Martin's forehead folded as he looked at the card in front of him. Then he took it and read it. And his jaw immediately hardened with teeth chattering. He tried to keep his emotions in check, even though he felt like exploding with rage.

Taylor is getting married soon. That's what the invitation card said. He now knew that the man sitting next to her must be her future husband.

"I'm getting married soon, in three weeks. You're coming, okay? I invited you specially. Oh yes, let me introduce you to my future husband."

With a big smile, the man sitting next to Taylor extended his hand to Martin. And really, he didn't want to be introduced. He didn't need this. But there was no way he could refuse. Finally, he shook the man's hand. With a heavy heart, of course.

"I'm Shawn, Taylor's future husband. Nice to meet you."

"Just call me Martin. Nice to meet you too."

And already, the handshake was finally interrupted. After that, Martin thought. There was something strange here. Three days ago, Taylor didn't explain anything when she asked to break up with him. She just left immediately, even though Martin had not gotten a clear reason. But, now, suddenly, Taylor asked him to come and surprise him with a wedding invitation.

This is fucking crazy! How could Taylor find a replacement so quickly? She even wanted to get married. Something this odd made Martin wonder.

There was one definite answer. Taylor had cheated on Martin behind his back. He smiled sadly at the thought.

Not wanting to linger here because he was fed up, Martin stood up from his seat. "Okay, I'll try to come. But I don't promise anything. And congratulations on your marriage, I hope one of you doesn't cheat on the other."

After saying such a scathing sentence, Martin then left.

"What do you mean by saying that?"

Martin's steps stopped, and the man turned his face back. He smiled wryly at Taylor. "Oh, I said something wrong? Sorry if it was a little offensive, I hope you don't repeat the same mistake, Taylor."

And without another thought, Martin walked away. He had not expected Taylor to have a wedding.

What a surprise from his ex.

Chapter 2 : Celia Was Dumbfounded

In front of the mirror, Celia patted her cheeks lightly as she applied and smoothed the moisturizer on her cheeks. Her smile broadened. Before she finally got up from her seat, she was stepping casually towards the bed, intending to sleep. She wasn't sleepy yet, it was just her body that felt tired. After all, she had to go back to work tomorrow. Resting her body early would certainly be good for her. She had started to close her eyes, hoping that her eyes would be heavy with sleepiness. But, after only ten seconds of closing her eyes tightly, a knock on her bedroom door made her wake up again.

Celia opened her eyelids, then positioned herself to sit up. "Who?" She asked and her gaze pointing straight at the door.

"It's me." A voice from outside the room was heard faintly. It was her sister's voice. Celia then walked over to open the door.

As soon as the door opened, Celia looked up to see her sister's face. "Why? You
