Chapter 1
I felt my head throbbing with pain as I woke up, I could feel a wave of nausea washing over me and my eyes filled with tears as I rushed out of the room and into the bathroom, throwing out all my guts out when I fell to the ground.
Where am I, what did I do last night?
I found myself laying on the floor thinking about it when I heard a noise coming from outside the bathroom, I stood up, and I washed my face before I headed out, to find Lana standing in the middle of the room.
“Your clothes are on the couch madam and there is Advil in the second closet by the left.” Lana said; she looked away from me.
I could barely speak, all I could hear was my heart beating against my rip-cage, my eyes filled with tears when I looked away from her, and she headed out of the room.
I looked back at the bed and I saw his sleeping structure, how did we do this, I knew I can’t be here any longer than I needed too. I have to leave before I break, I could tell I was about to.
I didn’t go home, by the time I was in a van, I recalled I have a meeting that I can’t miss, so I got to the office.
Everyone stared at me the way Lana did, if only they knew what I did, the consequences of my actions.
“Not now Danny, I can’t talk.” I said when I walked into my office, I headed into the spare room that I had to take a shower and change, I guess it was a good idea to have a room in my office.
I got back out to find Danny sitting on the couch.
“Do you have everything ready for the meeting.” I asked and he nodded.
“Yes but Cami has been blowing my phone up, you haven’t called her since the party last night.” He said and a pang of guilt washed over me.
“I will.” I whispered, “just get the room ready for the meeting please, I can’t mess this up.” I stated and he nodded.
The way he looked at me, I could tell he was suspicious, but he didn’t say a word about it, I couldn’t let him or anyone know about it, and soon it was time for the meeting.
I have been working hard toward this meeting; when I showed everyone my slides and I could tell my boss was impressed, I knew I did a great job, my eyes scanned across the room and I could tell they liked what I did there.
“Any questions.” I asked.
“What if it fails.” I heard someone ask, my eyes peered up, and I met his eyes, Parker.
The one man who is against my promotion.
“It won’t and there are always profits and fails in a company, that doesn’t mean we should not take risk.”
“You are right, but I think I have a better idea than yours.” Parker said, and I rolled my eyes at him.
“Maybe another time.” I heard my boss says, and that’s all I wanted to hear. “I love it and I guess the decision still stands, you will present our company in Italy.”
I mumbled a thank you and I glared at Parker, before I headed out the room, Parker and I, he has always had something for me, but I didn’t care for him, maybe that always p*ss*d him off, he is known to make women want me, and everyone did want him in this company except for me.
When I started working, he had thought I will do anything to succeed, but I didn’t and ever since he has made it his personal goal to hate on me, he made no girl want to be my friends, and he did do a lot worse.
I shrugged off the thoughts and I headed into my office, I found Danny still waiting for me, he is my personal assistant and friend.
“Cami is still waiting for your call.” He said and I nodded. “Are you ignoring her, did something happen at the party last night, Anna.” He asked.
“No, I am just tired okay, I barely slept last night and I woke up so early and Parker is not making things very easy for me at the moment, I am just upset, and I don’t feel like I should talk to anyone.” I said.
“I know.” Danny replied, he has always been understanding. “I’m sure Cami will understand too.” He said and I smiled.
I don’t think she will understand, I didn’t know if I had it in me to talk to her, I was scared, I was worried that she will find out.
“I know, I will go home soon.” I whispered against my breath, and he nodded, he was still very much staring at me.
I was able to force him to leave, and I engrossed myself in a lot of work because I didn’t want to think about it
Maybe Cami should have never thrown me that going away party, and maybe I should have never got drunk.
I made myself busy, and I ignored every message and calls from Cami. Soon I realized I couldn’t continue to ignore her, I needed to go back home.
I just have to hide it from her, my subconscious says.
I headed into a cab, and before I could realize it, I was home, when I headed into the building, I used the stairs, each step I took, I felt a wave of guilt was over me when I got to my door and a tear slipped out of my eyes, I don’t know if I continue to hide this from her.
The keys slipped into the hole and I opened the door, when I walked in, I found Cami on the couch making out with the man I slept with last night.
Chapter 2
Cami pulled away from him and Caleb’s eyes met mine, he instantly looked away from me and at that moment I realized he can remember what happened last night. I placed on a big smile and I looked at my best friend Cami.
“You.” Cami mumbled against her breath, “where have you been?”
“I’m sorry, Cami, I slept off at a hotel.”
“Alone.”
“Yes.” I lied, “I guess I checked myself in and when I woke up, I recalled the meeting I have, and I’m sorry.” I smiled, and she playfully rolled her eyes at me.
“How rude of you, after I threw you the biggest party of the year.” She smiled before she headed toward me.
It was a great party, but the events of the party was one I can never forget, I had hoped it was never going to be mentioned.
My eyes met hers when she looked at me.
“You look tired.”
“Parker was an *ss, so I had to work hard.” I smiled, “I will leave you two to talk.” I said while I started to walk away.
“Caleb made dinner so be f
