Taking the risk

Alex:

   Tomorrow was the first day at school and I was scard to face James again. Me and James have been dating for 3 years. I haven't seen him since the last day of school when he told me he wanted to marry me as soon as we're both 18. Its not like he didn't want to see me it just felt like I needed some space , but the distance that was supposed to make our hearts grow fonder but i think it ended up making us grow farther apart.

Just then I got a text message it was from James. James hasnt texted me in 2 months so you can imagine my surprise to see a text from him.

James- hey baby haven't seen you in forever. What have you been up to.

Alex- nothing much, but where have you been the last 2/3months.

James- are you really still mad about that?

Alex- Wdym its still happening.

James- Alex baby all this is not going to matter when we get married and have kids so what's the point in arguing over it?

He does this all the time. Every time we argue about anything. In the end I just texted. "You're right I'm just being silly." But thats not what I wanted to say. I wanted to say I don't wanna have your kids and I don't wanna be your wife, but it never comes out like that.

I laid on my bed and looked at my ceiling. What is my life anymore! Worst of all I couldn't get Austin smiling at me out of my head. I decided to poke my head out the window to look at his house. Did I mention we're next door neighbor. When I look out I see him swimming outside all by himself.

I wish he would look my way just for a second but my no luck at all he still doesn't.

I decided I need to get the heck outta of this room. I called up my best friend Julia. Which also happens to be Austin's sister.

As soon as Julia got to my house. She flipped on my bed and asked what we were doing today. Julia was naturally beautiful 5"5 pale white with black hair. I was always envious my 5"3 frame and strawberry blonde hair I couldn't compete with her. Looking at Julia I decided I needed to open up about my feelings for Austin.

Julia when you talk. Julie looked at me nervously and said. Oookayyy What did you need to talk?

So I tould her everything About me, Austin, and James.

She was shocked but I never expected her to say this.

Omg I'm so team Austin!! You need to break up with James and go after Austin. Yes he's kind of ass and yes he's my brother but you need to follow your heart. Omg we should start planning your wedding!!

Breath juila! He doesn't even see me as anything more than his best friends sister.

Alex you don't know that hell even I don't know that but I can tell you're in love with him

I don't know about love he's cute I really couldn't hide the blush on my face it didn't help when Julia said you are head over heels in love with him you can't hide this anymore for me I see right through Alex.

Something in the back of my mind knew she was right. That I was in love with him,but he's a big player he looks at all the other girls but me so what's the use in trying. He would never love a girl like me. Plus there's Justin he's safe, boring, but he's safe maybe that's better than love.

I smiled at Julia  that's denying or accepting that she was right,but we both knew she was.

I was in love with Austin, but their is no way I'd ever tell him that. Me and Julia then proceeded to watch a movies and gossip on the guys she likes at school she then ended up staying over it was a perfect girls night to get my head over clouded with boy thoughts.

When I woke up in the morning I saw Julia had already left she left me a text saying hey had to run home see you later I decided to go ahead and eat lunch since it was already 2:00 p.m. I didn't look down to see a text from James.

James-hey I just got back you want to go on a date tonight?

Alex-hey I would love that want to watch a movie?

James- sure meet you at the movie theaters about 7:00 pm.

Alex- see you then.

Honestly I was a little nervous to see James again. What if things have changed in the last 3 months. The one thing I like about James is that he is safe and Smart. If I could count on anything it would be that James wouldn't cheat on me I just don't want that to change. I think that's the real reason I haven't let James go I'm not ready to see him with somebody else and I still be completely alone.

I tried to wipe the thoughts from my head and focus on getting ready for my date it was already 4:30 p.m. so I went to my closet to pick out a pretty sparkly dress, but I changed my mind I thought it might be too over the top. I went with some comfy jeans and a t-shirt. I decided to put some light makeup on, and curl my hair it honestly took me like an hour to curl my hair. after I was done I put on my shoes and I was ready to go.

I decided I was going to stop by Julia's house too get her opinion on my outfit before the date. I dropped her a text and said hey you home needing an outfit check. when I started walking next door I knocked on the door and you'll never guess who opened it Austin Reilly Tipton.
