Chapter 1 Where It All Begins

Olivia is a mercenary, and today she received an invitation letter from the mercenary union.

The words on the invitation were as beautiful as poetry, as if inviting Olivia to a beautiful candlelight dance, but no one would invite a mercenary who couldn't even wear high heels to dance.

The purpose of the mercenary union sending the invitation letter is to invite Olivia to join a mercenary team. If Olivia has no intention of joining, she can ignore the invitation letter.

The gold-stamped invitation was placed on the coffee table, next to Olivia's light crossbow, while Olivia herself was in a daze in the bathroom.

The bathtub was filled with water, and Olivia's clothes were hung on the wall hook. She sat curled up in the bathtub, with a barely visible scar on her naked back. Although the scar was small, it was less than an inch away from her heart.

"Olivia——"

There is a knock on the door.

Olivia put on her clothes and walked out of the bathroom. She opened the door a little and saw that the person knocking on the door was old Bonte with a broken arm: "Olivia, I have good news for you!"

Seeing that it was Old Bonte, Olivia said, "Wait a moment."

Behind the door, Olivia was tidying up her clothes. She had just been taking a shower and came out in a hurry. After a while, Olivia opened the door. Old Bunter was waiting outside. As soon as the door opened, he walked in on his own.

Olivia took out two cups from the kitchen: "What would you like to drink?"

"Give me a glass of vodka with ice." Old Bunt sat down on the sofa with his feet on the coffee table. He saw the gold-embossed invitation at a glance.

Olivia brought two cups of black tea, one with milk, and placed them in front of old Bunter.

"I want vodka with ice, not this sweet tea," Old Bont rolled his eyes at Olivia and didn't even touch the cup of tea. He went into the kitchen, dug out a bottle of vodka, opened the bottle cap with his teeth, and gulped down a big gulp. "This is what a man should drink!"

"Your stomach is already upset."

Olivia was telling the truth. A few days ago, she ended her employment relationship with her previous sponsor and came back. Aunt Bonte met her at the city gate and told Olivia that old Bonte was sick and needed to rest. Olivia asked what the illness was, and Aunt Bonte said it was a stomach problem.

The doctor had advised old Bunt not to drink anymore. Vodka is called the fire of wine. Old Bunt had been drinking it for most of his life. Even if his stomach was made of iron, it would have been burned through.

Old Bont always disdained the doctor's advice, and privately he always called the doctor who treated him a blood sucker. Old Bont had many bad habits, which were left over from his youth as a mercenary. He always had a dirty mouth and had some bad words to say to everyone who came into his mouth.

Olivia is the daughter of old Bunt's friend, and is also half father and daughter to old Bunt. When she was young, she was a money-losing girl, and when she grew up, she became a b*tch. Olivia is used to it, and she is also used to old Bunt's occasional lecherous eyes.

"What's the good news?"

Old Bonte finished a bottle of wine before speaking, wiping his mouth. "It's nothing. I saw a pretty boy before. He's pretty good at physical defense and close combat. He can be your partner and protect your back. You're a girl, fighting alone will always be a disadvantage."

"I'm also thinking about my partners. Now..." Olivia pointed to the gold-stamped invitation on the coffee table. "I'm thinking about whether I should go to the union tonight. Would you like to stay for lunch?"

"What are you still thinking about? My wife has already prepared lunch!" Old Bunter waved his hand and got off the sofa to leave.

Olivia didn't go to see it off. She collected the empty wine bottles and cups and went to the kitchen. Next to the sink were washed vegetables and fruits. Olivia moved the things aside and cleaned the cups in the sink. The empty wine bottle was thrown into the trash can.

The bottle of vodka that old Bunter had was half diluted with water, but he couldn't taste it. Perhaps his illness was causing him to lose his sense of taste, or perhaps he was just too old.

Olivia couldn't say anything to advise Old Bonte. She was just sad. The union's affairs in the evening also made her upset. Olivia was used to being alone and always felt uncomfortable with others. She didn't know how to communicate with others.

Normally, once an employment relationship ended, Olivia would return to her small house and stay there, reading, sleeping, studying her light crossbow, and occasionally researching some dishes, until the next employment relationship began.

In the evening, out of politeness, Olivia changed into a green-gray skirt, combed her hair neatly, locked the door and set off.

As she walked on the road, Olivia's anxiety inevitably increased. The Employment Union was not an unfamiliar place, but this was the first time she received such an invitation. Olivia was not good at dealing with strangers, and she felt a strong resistance to this invitation.

After walking through two blocks, Olivia stood at the gate of the employment union. The gate in front of her was not as crowded as usual. Olivia subconsciously looked at the bulletin board next to it. There was not a single new order form posted on it. In the past, Olivia would peel off an order form, walk in from the edge of the crowded crowd, and find Miss Dorothy at the front desk to register.

Now--

Dorothy wore a long fishtail dress and bright lipstick. She stroked her coquettish blonde hair, swayed over, and opened a red copper door for Olivia: "Miss Olivia, please come this way."

Olivia squinted subconsciously, not because of the dazzling lights inside, but because of the strangers inside. Amidst the wine, women, dance and music, Olivia only recognized one person. That person stood in the center of the stage, and his enchanting dance attracted everyone's attention.

No one was willing to take their eyes off the stage to pay some attention to Olivia. Instead, Olivia's heart calmed down a little. She gradually began to treat this place as a tavern. She took a cup of white tea and stood in the corner.

A girl in a tutu came over, holding a white card and a white rose, her eyes curved. "Hello, this is your information card and white rose."

Olivia was stunned for a moment and took the white card on the tray. It said: Please find a partner who is wearing the same flowers as you.

Partner wearing the same flowers?

Olivia looked at the white roses on the tray and glanced at the people present. The girl in the tutu skirt standing next to her asked, "Do you need Dani to help you put on the flowers?"

"Okay," Olivia nodded. "Can I ask how many people are wearing white roses with me?"

Dai Ni placed a white rose on Olivia's temples. She took out the pocket hidden in her puffy skirt, which contained all kinds of tools and cosmetics. While she worked skillfully, she answered Olivia's questions in a sweet voice: "There are four of us in total, Miss Olivia."

"Four!"

"Yes," Dani took a step back, hid the pocket back into her tutu skirt, and looked at her masterpiece with satisfaction. "Okay, does Miss Olivia need a mirror?"

"No, thank you." Olivia could see her own appearance in the reflection of the wine glass.

Dani held the tray and smiled sweetly: "Then please feel free to do as you please, Miss Olivia. If you need any help, you can ask the girl in the tutu on the field!"

Olivia nodded and looked at the venue again. Sure enough, there were many girls in puffy skirts mOliviang around in the crowd like flowers. She hadn't noticed before that everyone in the venue was wearing a flower. Now she was looking for people wearing white roses. Those people would probably be her future companions.

Those men over there gathered together to enjoy the wine?

No, they all wore cornflowers.

Is that the old man watching the dance alone over there?

No, he was wearing a dragon orchid.

Chapter 2 A Happy Gathering

There were very few women on the scene. Olivia looked everywhere but didn't see any woman wearing a white rose like herself.

Olivia leaned against the wall somewhat dejectedly. She stood there for a while. Because of this invitation, she was wearing high heels today and her feet were a little sore.

"Hi!" A man wearing a slanted shoulder breastplate on his upper body walked over. His short black curly hair was messy like a bird's nest, and the white rose on his chest seemed a little out of place.

Olivia smiled: "Hello."

"Hello!" The man stretched out a hand, which he had secretly wiped on his pants before.

Olivia hesitantly extended her hand and shook it in a friendly manner. She felt the sweat on the man's palm.

The tall, burly man in front of her was even more nervous than herself. Olivia's uneasy heart calmed down a little, and she smiled and said, "My name is Olivia."

"My name is Julian Witt, uh... I'm a great swordsman. It's the first ti
