Chapter 1

“Let’s break up, Sophia.”

Sophia blinked, raising her eyes to look at the young man she had dated for three years. He was handsome, tall, thin, has great body shape, sharp dark eyes, a man every lady would want to fall into bed with.

Having s*x with him has been nothing but amazing, he was perfect, and their love life have been nothing but amazing, he was wanted by lots of lady, yet she was that lucky girl who got to be his girlfriend.

Dating him, loving him, it was a dream come true, and she never thought she would wake up from it, but right now, right here, at a moment she thought there would be yet another sweet romance between them, he was speaking of breaking up with her.

Sophia swallowed hard and put down her cutleries, she parted her lips to speak, but no words came out, tears were far from her eyes, all she could do was stare at the man whose expression was blank as though what he said wasn’t meant to hurt her feelings.

“We can’t continue this relationship, Sophia,” he continued, holding her gaze. “Let’s move on without each other.”

Those voice, those deep voice were always s*xy when he moans her name, but right now, hearing them, Sophia could feel all the future plans she had for them crumbling down to her feet.

How had she been so far from reality? How did all the butterflies she had in her stomach all these while suddenly make her belle churn? Why did she think this man was the last person who would break her heart?

How can love start so beautifully and end so bitterly? How can he just wake up and decide it was time to end a relationship they had worked so hard to build for three years without thinking of the pain it could cause her?

There was no warning, there was fight, no argument, no clue or reason, yet he just dropped it on her like a time bomb.

Sophia was in a complete daze, she glanced around the restaurant they had come for dinner, there were lot of couples here, smiling, talking, and being romantic to their partners, all she had dreamt of, she could see other couples do.

He had invited her over for dinner, and she rushed here in excitement after dolling up, they even got to order meals and now this.

Was it going to end this way for these couples too? Would one couple wake up and end it with their partner without a clue? Was that how relationships were meant to end?

“Sophia, are you listening?” He tapped the table to draw her attention back to him when he noticed she wasn’t looking at him or saying anything, she turned her gaze to face him again. “Did you hear what I had just…”

“Why?” Sophia questioned, interrupting him, she held his gaze, searching his eyes, he pressed his lips together and she sniffled, but there were still no tears in her eyes, only her heart bled.

“What is your reason?” Her lips moved again and this time she could feel the tears she wished she could fight back blurring her gaze. “What have I done wrong?” She raised the corner of her brows.

She shook her head. “I can’t remember doing anything wrong, so why would you want to break up with me?” She slowly raised her hand to touch her hair in thought of what the reason would possibly be, but she could think of nothing.

“You should at least give me a reason,” a knot rose in her throat making her purse her lips, she lifted her eyes to suppress the tears threatening to roll down.

She stared at him for a while, but he said nothing, she scoffed. “Nothing?” She arched her brows. “You have no valid reason, right?” Her throat felt dry so she drowned the water in her glass and placed it down, clenching the glass.

“This must be so easy for you,” her lower lips trembled. “You seem to have made your decision already, and I guess there is nothing I say that would change your mind.” She closed her eyes momentarily and the tears she was holding back rolled down her cheek.

“Sophia, I…”

She quickly raised her hand to silence him, and he pressed down his lips together, drawing a sharp breath, she grabbed her bag and got to her feet.

She turned to leave but halted and turned to him. “To you, love is so easy, you can make someone fall head over heels for you and end it easily in a split second.” She clenched the straps of her bag and stared down at him.

“I hope you have a great life…” She forced a smile, turning around, she walked out of the restaurant without looking back at the man that had hurt her like their whole relationship meant nothing to him.

She pushed the door open and was greeted by a light breeze that brushed past her face, her hair flipped backwards as she made it down the walkway, the tears she had been fighting back rolled down her cheek and her legs felt so weak that she had to locate a nearby bench next to the restaurant.

Love doesn’t come in a blink of an eye, yet it ends so quickly, before now, everything had been rainbows for her, but now they were grey.

She lowered her eyes in tears and sobbed bitterly, her lower lips trembled, she clenched the dress next to her chest. Her heart ached so much.

“Why does it hurt so much?” She screamed, it wasn’t the first time her heart has been broken, it wasn’t the first time she bled this way, she thought this would be the end, meeting him she thought maybe, just maybe he had come to stay.

Sophia sniffled and glanced towards the restaurant, blinking tears away only to gasp at the sight of the man who had just ended things with her walking out of the restaurant hand to hand with a pretty curly hair lady, smiles all over their faces.

Sophia clenched her jaw, and her hand curled up into a fist. He looked very happy while she was here crying her eyes out.

It took all the control she had not to scream, her tears seized to flow, and she rose to her feet, she wanted to ignore it, wanted to leave, but she couldn’t, for once in her life, she decided to react, to blurt out, to act recklessly.

“Kyle!” She shouted and rushed over to them, her scream made them stop walking, and they both turned around, but Sophia halted abruptly when she recognized the lady standing next to him.

“Nora?” The words slipped out of her lips before she could stop it.

Chapter 2

“Nora?”

This hit Sophia like a hurricane, but a hurricane comes with a sign.

Sophia blinked and looked at the face closely to make sure she wasn’t mistaken, but it wasn’t someone who looked like Nora, it was her, it was her best friend, a girl she had known half her life.

“Sophie…” Nora said her name softly, her voice trembling, Sophia lowered her eyes to Nora’s hand that was intertwined with Kyle’s, Nora slowly pulled her hand from Kyle’s, but he held it back and looked at Sophia.

Sophia looked up at him, she chuckled bitterly, a humorless chuckle that didn’t reach her eyes. “Is this the reason?” She glanced from Nora to him.

“Now you know, Sophia, the reason I don’t want us anymore.” He spoke without guilt in his voice, his gaze was icy and there was no shame in them, no pain at all.

“Sophia, I truly wanted to tell you.” Nora started to speak but pressed her lips together when Sophia shot her a glare.

“You betrayed me, Nora!” Sophia’s word
