Chapter 1

As he stepped out from the plane, he breathed in the familiar scent of his hometown: Italy. He has been away from home for studies in the United States but now he is back home to see his father. He walked sharply with his luggage trailing by his side, looking around, as usual, to see if there were any changes in the airport.

As he walked through the airport, he couldn't take his eyes off the Italy flag that the kids held and he smiled at himself. "I'm home once again.'' He was eager to see his old friends and family and to immerse himself once again in the rich culture and history of his homeland.

As he walked out of the airport, he was greeted by familiar but unexpected faces. How they got to know he will be around was what he questioned.

"What's wrong with you guys, and why are you here?" He questioned, a hint of anger in his voice. He hated unexpected visitors, especially on such a joyous occasion as his homecoming.

They were all wearing solemn expressions, and their eyes spoke of tears. Even their mouth was too weary to say a word.

One of them stepped forward, his voice low and serious,'' Your father, the don, is dead and we were asked to bring you to the wake.''

He couldn't believe what he was hearing. He had spoken to his father only a few weeks ago, and he had seemed healthy. Why hadn't anyone informed him of his father's passing? And why was the wake being held so quickly?

He looked at the mourners' and what he saw was strange. They seems to be avoiding him and some were glancing at him with suspicious faces. Then he knew something is wrong somewhere.

He knew before now that the Mafia is a dangerous environment and only those who are wise and smart do overcome it. He couldn't shake off the feeling that something is wrong somewhere.

Why didn't they call him to inform him about the incident? Why did they wake so quickly? That's not proper, they didn't wait for him to come before commencing on anything.

As they arrived at the wake, He was struck by the elaborate display of flowers such as roses and lilies that were arranged in cascading and the casket made of solid bronze, the exterior of the casket was adorned with floral motifs, that are etched into the metal and then coated with a layer of gold or other precious metal.

That didn't shock him. His mafia family was the most riches mafia in Italy and beyond so if they wanted to get a golden casket all through they are quite capable of that.

His attention was quickly shifted to the mafioso, who had taken over as the new boss. She was clad in a black dress with a white shirt and a black tie. The dress was tailored in reflecting the Delta's wealth and status rather than mourning. The outfit was completed with black high hills and black gloves with signifies mourning and respect. She was wearing a piece of jewelry that carries the symbol of the don on her neck and the golden ring of the new boss of the organization.

She greeted him with a cold smile, and he could sense the hostility in her eyes. It's unusual of her to give such a smile and that only made Casino almost ruin his aggression on her.

"I'm sorry for your loss, Casino." She sounded in a voice that was as sharp as a knife. "But I'm afraid we have some business to attend to.''

She turned to leave but paused.

"Don't try doing anything funny here. I'm now the don of THE DELTA'S. '' She added bluntly with pride in her words, looking more annoyed at the sight of Casino.

"You and I know that Don Coslos will never die just like that... What happened?" Casino queried in a high tone as his eyes were forming from angriness. He didn't want to advertise noise at that moment but he couldn't control those attitudes.

"You better remain a silent consigliere else you will have to pay for the price.'' She replied and gave him a naughty glare. That didn't shake him but he wanted the truth.

Casino started searching for his friend, Alberto to explain what really happened in his absence but he was nowhere to be found. Maybe he was on a mission for his boss before now.

As the wake went on, Casino couldn't help but feel that something was off. He noticed that the mafioso and her associates were watching him closely, and he heard whispers of his supposed involvement in his father's death.

Casino was taken aback. He had no idea what they were talking about. But as the night wore on, he began to piece together a frightening truth. He realized that the mafioso had likely been responsible for his father's murder and that she was now trying to pin the blame on him.

The glances from the associates were killing from inside as he took out his silver pistol and pointed it at Vasaronica: the mafioso. She didn't fidget but laughed wickedly at him.

"You are such the son of Don Coslos and the fearless consigliere of the great organization.'' She pointed to the associates who were under him before his dad's death. They were already fixing their arms in his direction. All against him.

In a sudden moment of clarity, Casino knew he had to get out of there. He couldn't stay and risk being detained or worse. He had to escape back to safety and find the root of this problem.

His eyes blazed with anger as he realized that this had been planned all along. How could a woman who had previously shown no interest in the mafia suddenly rise to become the fearless leader of the Delta mafia - of all mafias?

He kept his pistol trained on Vasaronica, knowing that the situation might not play out in his favor. "You can try all you want, but you'll never be the boss of this mafia. It's either you or me who will end up dead."

"Then I think it's time I show you what I'm capable of," Vasaronica replied coolly.

Suddenly, a gunshot rang out, silencing the noisy hall. Everyone scrambled for cover as bullets flew back and forth between the Delta, Casino, and an unknown group of hoodlums. After a fierce gun battle, Casino and the hoodlums slipped away, leaving the Delta in the dark.

After the departure of Casino and the other intruders, a black SUV sped onto the highway at high speed. However, Mafioso Vasaronica did not give orders to chase them as she believed she could catch Casino differently. The car raced at a high velocity, carrying Casino and three others.

Chapter 2

The car suddenly pulled over onto a dark, desolate path and the passengers stepped out. The air was heavy with silence, broken only by the sound of the car's engine settling into silence. It was an abandoned alleyway where government officials had not visited for several years. The hoodlums were dressed in black pants and body-fitted shirts with black boots, black masks covering their faces, black gloves on their hands, and various weapons.

"Sir Casino, we'll have to wait for him before we know what to do next," the only female in the group said as she walked to the trunk of the car and sat on it, crossing her legs in a ladylike manner. The two men guarded the north and south sides of the highway.

Casino pulled out his pistol when he saw a vehicle approaching them on the dark path. He was ready for anything or anyone who might cross their path, even though they were waiting for one person. He was burning with rage for what Mafioso
