Harriet , who has been increasingly unhappy in her loveless marriage , files for divorce and leaves for Europe without telling her husband that she is pregnant. Four years later they meet again at a friend's wedding ; she is there with her twins and he is accompanied by his long time girlfriend , Evelyn , the cause of all Harriet's problems . The situation is quite complicated , Damien is surprised to find that he is a father and also that he has feelings for his ex wife ; Harriet who thought she was finally over Damien obviously isn't ; and Evelyn who thought she was about to become Damien's wife has to resort to some extreme measures to rid herself of her rival. This culminates in a botched kidnap attempt on Harriet that leaves Damien seriously injured and in a coma . When he wakes up Harriet is the first person he sees and everything seems to have ended happily , however , Evelyn fearing imminent arrest has escaped . Will they find her before she tries to hurt Harriet and Damien again ; will their love survive whatever she has in store for them ; and who is the mysterious man who is helping Evelyn?
