Annotation

A forbidden romance filled with laughter, tension, and the kind of chemistry that breaks every rule. Elara Trent has a problem. Well - technically, she is the problem. One nervous laugh, one spilled coffee, and one very important client meeting later, she'd become the most talked - about intern at Vale Dynamics... For all the wrong reasons. Her punishment? Working directly under Damian vale - the icy, untouchable CEO who runs the company with a glare that could silence thunder. He's sharp suits, quiet power, and absolute control. She's clumsy brilliance, sarcastic humour, and absolute chaotic. Together? A walking HR nightmare waiting to happen. But what starts as punishment quickly turns into something far more dangerous. Behind his tailored suits and ruthless reputation, Damian Vale isn't quite what the world thinks. There's a loneliness behind those cold eyes.... and a spark that flares every time she's near. Elara tells herself to keep her distance. He's her boss He's engaged He's the definition of off - limits But late nights have a way of blurring lines. Laughter slips into whispers into glances, and before long, the air between them feels too heavy, too charged, too forbidden. And when one careless moment turns into something deniable, they both realize the truth; Theis isn't attraction, it's something much worse. Something they can't undo. Now the office is whispering, his fiancee is watching, and Elara career - the one she worked so hard for - is hanging by the thread. The more they try to stop, the harder they fall. Because some rules aren't meant to be broken. They're meant to be rewritten. Terms of attraction is a witty, slow- burn, forbidden office romance about power, vulnerability, and the kind of love that shouldn't exist - but does anyway. Filled with sparkling banter, laugh- out - loud disasters, and tension so thick you'll forget to breathe, this story proves one thing: In love, as in business, the greatest risks often yield the sweetest rewards.

Chapter 1 : "Welcome to Chaos"

Elara's Pov.

There's confident - and then there's fake confident, which is what I was that morning.

It was my first day at Vale Dynamics, and I was armed with caffeine, ambition, and a dangerously false sense of control. My best friend Mara had said, "Elara. walk in there like you own the place."

So, I did.

unfortunately, I walked in carrying a coffee the size of my dreams.

And the coffee didn't survive.

It happened fast - one turn distracted step, one shoulder colliding with what felt like a brick wall wearing cologne that cost more than my rent - and my caramel macchiato exploded across a suit.

Not just any suit.

A CEO -level suit.

The man looked down at the spreading stain, then up at me, his expression so unreadable it could've been copyrighted.

"Oh no- sir, I'm so sorry!" I gasped, fumbling for tissues like a magician pulling napkins from thin air.

"I swear I'm not usually - okay, maybe I am - but this was an accident!"

"Stop talking," he said calmly.

That's when I realized two things:

1. I was standing in front of Damian Vale - the Damian Vale - the company's legendary CEO.

2. My career had ended before it began.

The elevator went silent. You could've heard an intern's soul leave their body.

Someone at the back whispered, "That's him," and I swear I died twice.

He looked at me for exactly three seconds before saying, "You must be new."

His voice smooth and deep, but the tone had a chill that could freeze lava.

"Yes," I croaked. "Very new. Like - brand new. Still has the receipt."

A flicker - almost amusement - passed through his eyes, but it vanished before I could be sure.

when the doors opened, everyone bolted out. I stayed, clutching my tissue and dignity, until he stepped out too, leaving a trail of expensive silence behind.

And that's how, at 8: 17 a.m., I became "the coffee girl."

By noon, the entire office knew.

Someone from HR actually handed me a towel.

Someone else offered to start a prayer group.

When my phone buzzed, I prayed it was Mara. It wasn't.

From: HR Department

Subject: Appointment Notice

Please report to the CEO's office.

My heart did a triple backflip.

Oh no. Oh no no no.

Dmian's Pov.

My morning meeting schedule didn't include "wear a latte," but here we were.

I'd met hundreds of employees - ambitious, quiet, predictable. But the intern with the coffee? She was chaos in heels.

Most people stutter when they're nervous. She performed.

And now, I had her name flashing on my screen, courtesy of HR: Elara Trent.

Normally, I would've ignored it. I didn't deal with interns. I didn't have the patience for apologies wrapped in nervous laughter.

But something about her had stayed with me - the sincerity, the way she spoke even when i told her not to. It wasn't defiance. It was honesty, in its most unpolished form.

And maybe I wanted to see what kind of person managed to spill coffee on a CEO and still hold eye contact.

When she entered my office, she nearly tripped on the threshold. Of course.

She froze halfway across the room, clutching her bag like it held divine protection.

"Mr. Vale, I just wanted to formally apologize again," she said. "And also thank you for not, you know, suing me, firing me, or declaring me a corporate hazard."

I folded my hands. "You're assuming I won't."

She blinked. "Right. I'll just - get started on the packing, then."

I should've dismissed her, but instead, I said, "Your supervisor's been reassigned. Effective immediately, you'll report directly to me."

Her mouth fell open. "Wait, you? As in you- you? Like top- floor, has- as - office - bigger- than- my- apartment you?"

"Yes. That me."

"That feels.... intense."

"It is."

For a second, we just stared at each other. Then she muttered, "Great. Love that for me. I'll just try not to spill anything else."

"Try harder," I said, and turned back to my computer - mostly so she wouldn't see the small, dangerous smile I didn't mean to have.

Elera's Pov.

By 5 p.m., I'd emailed the wrong client, gotten lost twice, and accidentally called the CEO "sir coffee" - out loud.

At this point, I was ninety percent embarrassment, ten percent determination.

When I passed the assistant, Charles, he gave me a sympathetic smile. "He's not as scary as he seems," he said.

I nodded. "Sure. And sharks are just misunderstood fish."

Charles chuckled. "Good luck, Miss Trent. You'll need it."

That night, as I collapsed on my tiny couch, my phone buzzed again.

From: D. Vale

Subject: Tomorrow, 8 a.m. sharp. Don't be late.

I stared at it. No "regards," no punctuation flair, just pure CEO energy.

I texted Mara immediately.

Me: I think my boss hates me.

Mara: Is he handsome?

Me: ....... That's not the point.

Mara: Then yes, he definitely hates you.

Damian's Pov.

She's inefficient, unpolished, far too expressive - and somehow, I'm still thinking about the way she smiled when she said she'd "try not to spill anything else."

My assistant thinks assigning her to me was a mistake.

He's probably right.

But something about her disrupts the silence I've lived in for years - and I can't tell if that's good or catastrophic.

When I left the office that night, her laughter still echoed faintly in my mind. It was bright. Alive. Inconveniently unforgettable.

Chapter 2 : "Meetings, Misunderstandings, and Minor Disasters"

Elara's Pov.

There are mornings that start with sunshine and birds singing.

And then there are mornings like mine - where my alarm didn't go off, my blouse had a mysterious stain, and my bus driver decided to re- enact a Fast & Furious chase sequence.

By the time I reached the 38th floor, I looked loke a motivational poster titled "Try Again Tomorrow."

I smoothed my hair, inhaled courage, and pushed open the CEO's door.

Only.... someone was already there.

Tall, elegant, and terrifyingly perfect, the woman turned as if she'd been waiting her whole life to witness my downfall.

Victoria Hall.

Head of Operations. Ex - public relations model. And, from the way she smiled at Damian Vale, definitely not someone who got coffee stains on anyone's suit.

"Oh," I squeaked. "You have company."

Her eyes flicked over me. "You must be the intern."

"Yes, ma'am. I specialize in accidental caffeine distribution."

She blinked.
