Desperate to forget the night, she did the one thing she'd sworn she'd never do, she let go. One night. One stranger. No rules. In regret, they part ways but fate wasn’t done. The stranger she gave herself to was none other than Matthias Harrison—her ex’s powerful, magnetic uncle. She wasn’t supposed to want him. He wasn’t supposed to crave her. But no matter how hard they fight it, their connection only deepens, fueled by longing and a desire neither of them can explain. When a devastating truth comes to light: that the man who ignites her soul is bound to her by blood, their passion becomes an impossible secret. Will their love be strong enough to defy fate or will it tear them apart?

Chapter 1. Betrayed— A night with a stranger

Mirabelle's POV

“Yes, I just want to get some things at home,” I rambled to my best friend on the phone as I headed out of my workplace, “I definitely need to see you. Tomorrow’s presentation is huge and I need to practice in front of you.”

“Not a problem,” My best friend replied and I could feel her smile. “Do you need anything else?”

“Will you pick me up in thirty minutes? Too tired to drive.” I said and she agreed.

When I got to the parking lot, I got into the car and did the next thing on my daily routine. Having a phone call with my boyfriend.

Miles.

The phone rang twice but he didn't pick up. Frustrated, I kept ringing until the fifth time but still he didn't pick up.

Wow.

As I stared into my rear view mirror, I realized a tear was already rolling down and in my eyes was the acceptance. That was the third day he had gone without picking my calls.

Maybe our relationship had really ended.

Not wanting to be heart torn before my big day, I headed home and as usual the living room was empty.

I took the stairs to do what I always do. Talk to my sister. Ravena. I always made it a point of stopping by her room, a ritual I couldn't shake since we didn't see each other often.

“Ravena,” I pushed the door to her room open and my brows twitched. Her room was oddly scattered for someone like her.

“Yes, just like that,” I heard Ravena's voice.

Breathless.

Followed by a low familiar groan.

My stomach twisted as I dashed towards the bathroom and pushed the door open, the panic in my chest twisting into reality.

There, they were.

Ravena entwined with Miles. His hands on her butt. Her lips on his neck while she moaned.

My world collapsed. “You f*ck*ng dumbass,” I lunged at Miles in an instant.

Blood sprayed from his nose. And then from his mouth as I launched at him again.

“Goddamn!” he gasped as he staggered.

“You little brat,” Ravena gritted, “You said you didn't love him anymore.”

Anger burned within me as I stared at Ravena. Her eyes held no remorse, only triumph and nonchalance.

“How could you do this to me?”

“Because I can. I can do anything you can do, Belle. I can pull any man you can too.”

The rage in my heart took over. My fist tightened and before I could control myself, it collided with her eyes.

Ravena burst into a scream at once and Miles rushed towards her while I picked at my heels, fighting back the tears that burned at the back of my eyes.

I reached my room, my heart pounding while the whole scene replayed in my head. She was locked — in his arms while he was buried inside her.

He was my boyfriend. How could he do that? How could he chest on me? Worse. With my sister?

You saw it coming already. My subconscious told me and truth be told I saw it coming. The distance, the excuses, the way he hated us touching.

And how he stopped picking my calls. It was very obvious.

Again, my heart constricted and tears pooled at the back of my eyes while I struggled to fight it.

I needed an escape. I needed to stop the pain clawing at my chest. A scream threatened to burst out of my mouth and slowly, I headed outside.

In the living room, my eyes caught sight of Miles closing the car door as Ravena got in. My control snapped and my legs gave way to the floor as tears spilled from my eyes.

How long had that been going on?

After a while of tears pouring, I stood and headed to my car, my nose running and eyes itchy.

My phone blared in my pockets continuously and I knew it would be just one person —Calista. Tired of the tears, I wiped my face then put my phone on silent and began driving.

Seas of emotions tumbled in me and my heart kept constricting with each turn I took.

Needing a distraction from what I felt, I swerved my car to the direction of the bar in the town and at once, I headed in.

“A shot of tequila,” I told the bartender and I gulped it down in an instant. The bitter taste quenched my pain, distracting me from the ache in my chest as I requested for another.

“You are drunk,” the bartender pointed out after my second shot and I blinked while struggling to steady my head. How fast do people get drunk?

“I should forget this night,” I belched and smiled. Only having fun tonight.

“No more shots for you,” the bartender said as I gulped down another glass.

“You can't do that,” I whined but seeing he paid no attention to me, I sighed as I headed away from the counter, the loud music blaring against the commotion in my head.

Lights flashed in my eyes and people's unclear conversation hit my ears as I settled down and instantly, my eyes caught sight of something different.

A steady figure.

I blinked.

Within the chaos at the bar, he stood still, eyes deliberate and commanding like he owned the place.

He began walking, the strippers throwing themselves at him— but not daring to move closer.

And then he looked in my direction and my heart slowed. For a brief moment, the air thinned.

A chiseled jawline, dark brows and lips that look appealing at the same time were tempting.

He tilted his head and a slow smirk tugged at the corner of his lips like he understood the effect he had.

I swallowed hard as heat pooled in my core.

Standing to my feet, I was heading towards him, my wobbling legs dragging me through the chaos of people in the bar.

“Hey,” I gulped as I reached him, “you are not occupied, are you?”

His gaze swept over me and for a moment, heat sparked between us. When I staggered, one of his arms steadied me and he squinted his eyes, “why?”

“Because I want you for the night.” I gripped the purse I was holding and narrowed my eyes, “I can pay you if you want.”

An amused smile hinted on his face as his lips curled.

“I am not busy,” his deep voice came and at once, his lips captured mine.

Chapter 2. Another Harrison? As the investor?

Mirabelle's POV

I rolled on the bed as the sun rays hit my eyes and I exhaled sharply as my eyes fluttered open.

White ceiling.

My brows arched in confusion and I turned sideways.

Blue curtains.

At once, I jumped to my feet. When I looked down at my body, my eyes widened. I was naked! Slowly, the memories of yesterday night filled my head.

I caught Miles cheating and needed a distraction. Was that how I ended up in a stranger's bed?

And then a door creeped open and whipping my head to the direction, I stopped at the figure.

Standing like a shadow, his gaze almost penetrated my skin. His dark hair was slicked backwards with precision, complementing the manly structure of his face.

“You're up,” his bass voice rambled in the room and when he took a step, I grabbed the sheets around myself, “who are you?”

“Matthias Harrison,” he replied and I scoffed at t
