"You're joking right?" Alexander asked, leaning against his high-backed swivel seat, tapping his fingers on the table gently. "No, I'm not." Tessa swallowed hoping for the burning of her throat to stop, she dreaded what his reaction would be, yet he didn't take her seriously. "You want me to believe that a secretary who spread her legs easily for me the night I decided to notice her, is pregnant and it's my baby?" Alexander asked. "I'm not lying sir..I." Tessa stuttered she didn't have words to form, she couldn't believe what he said, he deflowered her that night they slept together, though he didn't know that, she didn't expect him to say what he just did, her throat burned so much, and her heart kept thumping irregularly, she held the chair she stood close to steadying herself. "You're an opportunist," Alexander said with a smile, he didn't like women like this, always finding excuses to trap him into what he didn't want. "Sir, I promise, I'm not lying," Tessa said her lips quivering, her eyes burning and the tears gathering were threatening to slip through. "I used a condom, I always do to avoid women like you." He spat standing up from his chair. "Sir, there must have been a…" Tessa paused when she saw him walk closer to her. "I'm going to give you one minute to leave my office, you're fired, and if I see you near the premises of this office, or close to my building, you'll be sorry for it." Alexander spat on her, pushing her out of his way, he walked to his door opening it wide. "Now leave." He roared. Tessa walked past him slowly, tears running down her eyes, she couldn't believe the one night she had resulted in her pregnancy and joblessness.

Chapter 1

Tessa.

Stepping into the modern lobby of Kristof Enterprises, I couldn't help but feel a flutter of nerves mingled with excitement.

Today was the day I had been preparing for meticulously, the day that could potentially alter the course of my career.

But amidst the flurry of thoughts racing through my mind, one particular thought stood out, him. The CEO, Alexander Kristof, had always been my secret crush since the day I laid eyes on him in a weekly business magazine.

Suppressing the butterflies in my stomach, I approached the receptionist’s desk with as much confidence as I could muster.

Her warm smile and reassuring words did little to calm my nerves as she directed me to the waiting area. I took a seat, trying to steady my breathing and compose myself for what lay ahead.

As the minutes ticked by, each one feeling like an eternity, I mentally rehearsed my responses to potential interview questions.

I had rehearsed the previous nights and even though I was so confident I was going to ace the interview, I still felt skeptical.

But no amount of preparation could quell the nervous energy coursing through my veins. Finally the moment arrived and I was called into the interview room.

Walking into the spacious conference room, I was met with a pane of interviewers, including the man who had been the subject of my countless daydreams- Alexander Kristof.

My heart skipped a bear as our eyes met, and I quickly averted my gaze, focusing instead on the task at hand.

The interview commenced, and I found myself answering questions with clarity and confidence I hadn't known I possessed.

With each passing minute, my initial apprehension began to dissipate, replaced by a sense of determination to showcase my skills and experiences.

Alexander's presence, though intimidating, served as a motivator to give it my all. Not only do I need the job because I want to be close to my secret crush, but I also need it for myself.

As the interview drew to a close, I couldn't help but steal a glance at Alexander, who was listening with a faint hint of twitch in his lips.

Had I managed to impress him? The uncertainty gnawed at me as I thanked the panel and made my exit, trying to maintain an air of composure despite the whirlwind of emotions churning inside me.

In the days that followed, I found myself caught in a state of restless anticipation. Every email notification sent my heart racing, only to be met with disappointment as it turned out to be yet another mundane message.

The waiting game was excruciating, each passing hour feeling like an eternity as I anxiously awaited news of the interview outcome.

Despite my best efforts to stay occupied and distracted, thoughts of the interview and Alexander Kristof continued to occupy my mind.

Sarah, my best friend and roommate kept assuring me and calming me, but my thoughts wandered. Had I made a favorable impression? Or had I stumbled over my words and missed the mark entirely?

The next day, just when I was on the verge of losing hope, it happened, the email I had been waiting for. My heart leaped into my throat as I read the subject line: “Job offer from Kristif Enterprises.”

With trembling hands, I clicked open the email, my eyes scanning the words in disbelief. I was given the job of being Alexander Kristof's personal Secretary. I had done it. I had secured the job.

The surge of elation that washed over me was indescribable, mingled with a profound sense of relief.

All those late nights spent burning the midnight oil, all the moments of doubt and uncertainty, they all seemed worth it now.

I couldn't wait to share the news with Sarah, my best friend. With trembling fingers, I dialed her number, each ring of the phone feeling like an eternity.

Finally, she picked up, her voice filled with concern as she asked if everything was okay. Unable to contain my excitement any longer, I blurted out the news, I had landed the job at Kristof Enterprises.

There was a moment of stunned silence on the other end of the line, followed by a deafening squeal of delight. “Oh my god, Tessa, that's amazing! I knew you could do it!”

Sarah’s words were filled with warmth, she promised to get home immediately from where she went.

As promised, Sarah rushed home, and together we decided to keep the celebration intimate, just between the two of us.

Our modest apartment transformed into a haven of excitement and joy, as we dimmed rje lights and lit candles to set the mood.

With a bottle of champagne in hand, we toasted to my success, the clinking of glasses echoing through the room like a triumphant symphony.

Sarah’s pride was palpable as she raised her glass to me, her words of encouragement bringing tears to my eyes.

Not only would I be working in a prestigious company, but I would also have the opportunity to work closely with Alexander Kristof, the CEO whom I had long admired from afar.

It was a dream come true, and I couldn't wait to see where this new chapter would take me. I reached for my phone to set an alarm for the following day.

Just as I was about to put the phone away, a new message notification popped up on the screen. My heart skipped a beat as I read the sender’s name — Alexander Kristof.

“Be in my office by 7 AM tomorrow.”

The message was short and to the point, but the implications sent a jolt of excitement coursing through me.

I showed the message to Sarah and she teased me about finally getting to see my crush every day.

Tomorrow morning, I would be meeting with Alexander Kristof himself, the CEO of Kristof Enterprises.

And I will be working as his personal Secretary and seeing him face to face every day.

Chapter 2

The shrill sound of my alarm pierced through the fog of sleep, jolting me awake with a start. Blinking groggily, I glanced at the clock and cursed under my breath. I had overslept.

With a sense of urgency, I threw back the covers and hurriedly dressed, my movements frantic as I tried to make up for lost time.

As I rushed to gather my belongings, my mind raced with thoughts of the impending day ahead. I cursed again as I fumbled with the house key.

Sarah was still sleeping, I decided against waking her up, the minutes were slippling away like sand through my fingers.

Finally ready, I dashed out the door and onto the bustling streets, my heart pounding with a mixture of anxiety and determination.

Arriving at the office, my heart sank as I realised I was already late. It was 7:30 instead of the appointed 7am he told me to get there.

Glancing at his translucent door, I quickly made my way to my desk, hoping to slip in unnoticed. But as soon as I sat d
