Chapter 1

"No, I can't hire you. Good-bye"

Those words hit me, straight in my guts. I clenched my fist around the door knob, staring at the man in disbelief.

He didn't even spare me a glance.

"Stop blocking the entrance." He groaned frustratedly, his eyes still fixated on his computer as he typed.

Adamant, I pushed myself further into the office, a small frown etched on my face.

"Good day, Sir," I fixed my glasses which had moved to the tip of my nose. "Sir, I'm -"

"Didn't you hear me? I said I cannot -" The words seemed to get stuck in his throat when our eyes met.

We went quiet just staring at each other. The way his eyes roamed around my body made me feel nervous.

He dragged his eyes from my face down to my breast and then to my leg before taking it up, back to my breast.

Maybe his eyes stopped moving due to an illness, I didn't know....but then, his eyes were glued to my chest.

No doubt, this man was gorgeous.

Though he was seated and wore this permanent scowl on his face but that was just it. It didn't take away his handsome features at all.

His emerald green eyes were one of the most mesmerizing features about him. Then, his full lower lips looked so good that I had already started to imagine things it could do.

He cleared his throat breaking the silence, "Like I was saying, I -"

"I heard you the first time, Sir. I think it's unfair that you write me off without hearing from me. Besides, today is the slated date for my interview." Snapping out of my daydream, I decided to attend to the matter on ground.

Who did this hot as hell, young, arrogant, gorgeous man think he was to throw me out on my first interview without even listening to me?

More like 4th interview with this company. Its like he had a personal issue with me because he always called it off before we even got the chance to meet.

I wasn't letting him off the hook this time where I had the opportunity to see him physically.

He cast an amused expression at me, leaning back on his chair. "You now call the shots in my office, Eva? My own company."

He addressed me like he knew me - like an acquaintance, and maybe his eyes looked a little familiar to the eyes of this guy ....

Nevermind. It couldn't be him.

"No, I don't. However, I think I deserve to be heard and attended to just like everyone else." I walked up to him, placing my CV on the table for him.

He had to give me a good reason for not taking me in. I wasn't going to take nothing for an answer.

"You definitely are calling the shots" He scoffed, pushing down my files from the table. The papers scattered everywhere when they landed on the ground.

That was where the last string cut, guys.

This was unbelievable!

"Excuse you? That was rude" I frowned at him, eyeing him in pure disgust.

I didn't care who he was at this point. I could literally kill him.

He stood up, showing off his full bloody height. If he thought that would intimidate me then he had to do a re-think. I wouldn't let this slide just because he was drop dead gorgeous.

I watched as he walked round the table until he got to me. A normal person would cower at that point where he was so close to them, glaring daggers at them but I was not normal

Blinded with rage, I matched his glare. I didn't care if he was older or taller than me but i was ready for him.

Besides, I knew I wouldn't be getting this job anyway.

"Hmm!" He nodded. "You want to file for the position of my PA but yet you stand there bashing your potential boss?"

I laughed, shaking my head. "Since when did standing up for yourself become bashing? Is that the word children these days use to describe it?" I raised my eyebrow at him.

He nodded slowly as he moved closer, leaving very little space in-between us. "Eva Dolce. I refuse to accept you in my company for any position at all. Be it the barest position of a cleaner." His minty breath fanned my face as he spoke.

"You know what I think?" I started, crouching down to pick my papers which were littered on the ground

"No. I should tell you what I think" He interjected, staring down at me. "I think you're just some girl who has had it too easy in life that you think that you should get anything, whenever you want"

I gasped, placing my hand on my chest in shock.

He did not just say that to me.

He didn't even know me that well. I wouldn't be here trying to prove myself to him if I had everything easy.

I said nothing to him until I picked up all my documents. When I stood up, I began to hit him with the file. He kept protesting but I wasn't listening. I had to let out my anger.

"I know I'll not be getting this d*mn job anymore. However, you're not any different from what you just described me as" I eyed him up and down. His hair was now scattered from my little tantrum.

"You -"

"Shhh!" I raised my file at him, threatening to hit him again. He flinched, raising his hand in an attempt to block it. "YOU..." I poked his chest. "...are just a rich spoiled kid who I'm sure didn't work for sh*t but is just living on what daddy left for him."

"Huh?" His eyes widened as he glared at me. "That's what you think?"

"Pfft. That's what i know." I tsked, eyeing him up and down in disgust.

"You think I had it easy? It's way more easy being a lady than being a man" He yelled.

"Oh please" I rolled my eyes. "Men like you barely do anything but feed off your parent's remnant. Doesn't that scream 'easy'? " Flipping my hair over my shoulder intentionally, I stomped out of the office.

The minute I came out, everybody's eyes were on me. I glared at them but they wouldn't look away.

"What? If you've not seen a person who has been denied an interview for no d*mn reason then feel free to stare and probably take pictures that'd last longer!" I yelled.

This seemed to make them retreat back to their various work. Stupid office.

On getting outside, I noticed that it was raining cats and dogs. I couldn't go under that rain. Tears pricked the corner of my eyes when I finally realized that I was denied again.

Maybe if I go under the rain, no one would see me cry. I thought to myself.

"Today is Mishap Day. I heard it isn't a good day to get angry" Two girls who stood by my side, discussed loudly drawing my attention.

"That's just a myth" The other girl said, disbelief etched in her voice

"I thought so too until -"

Wait!

I brought out my phone, opening my Calendar. Today was MISHAP day.

"Make sure you avoid any form of conflict or situation that'd make you say anything negative or else..." I remembered my grandmother's word to me this early morning.

Oh no!

No, no, no.

"I should go back to say sorry" I turned back but stopped on track.

He deserved whatever. How dare he?

What was the worst that could happen anyway?

That was what I thought until IT happened. It felt like a movie but it was real.

Too d*mn real.

F*ck. My. Life

Chapter 2

"Ahhhhh! What the freaking flick is this?" I screamed.

My mother was the first to bolt inside my room, followed by my grandmother. They both stopped abruptly when their eyes collided with IT.

"What... What happened? What.. what's that?" My mother's finger trembled as she raised her finger up.

"I don't f*ck*ng know mum. Please get it away from me" I cried, pushing it away. It wouldn't leave. It was stuck.

Oh goodness!

Oh my goodness!

I was gonna puke.

This can't be happening to me.

"I warned you, Cara Mia" My grandmother said, folding her arms as she stared down at me.

"Now's not the time for that mama. This is a real ... Oh God! What are we going to do about this, mama?" My mother asked, casting a pitiful and disbelieving look at me

I was dumbfounded. A huge bile rose up in my throat, restricting me from talking. My vision began to blur from the tea
