Edith Sherwood, an orphan known for her strict, idealistic nature, was determined to win the position of chairman of the student committee at her prestigious werewolf academy. But her plans come crashing down when she makes a shocking discovery—she’s nine months pregnant. How could this have happened? As far as Edith knew, she was an ordinary human attending a school for werewolves. For five years, she hadn’t undergone any of the changes that typically accompany human puberty, leading her to believe she was immune to this world. But a fateful one-night stand with Seth Tinley McKirby—the school’s most notorious bad boy—revealed otherwise, leaving her with an inexplicable pregnancy that defied all logic. --- “I want to make things right. Edith, I love you. I’ll wait as long as it takes for you to love me back.” --- As Edith grapples with her impossible pregnancy, the truth about her hidden identity begins to surface. Her past, long buried, intertwines with the supernatural, revealing powers she never knew she possessed. And at the center of it all is Seth—the wolf bound to her by fate and the future of their unborn children. Now, Edith must confront her destiny and embrace the world she once thought she didn’t belong to. But can she rewrite her fate before it’s too late?
Turn to You
[Now or never, Seth. She's your mate.]
"Shut up! I'm working on it!" Seth muttered under his breath, irritated by the relentless voice in his head.
Seth stepped forward confidently, drawn by the voice within him. His heart raced, as if an invisible thread bound him to the girl. The strange pull had started a month ago, around the time he was named the future Alpha of the Red Crescent Moon pack.
When he saw her striking green eyes, it felt like magic—like gravity pulling him in. His heart pounded, his body humming with excitement. He moved toward her slowly, already captivated.
Her shoulder-length blonde hair swayed gently as she walked, her eyes glued to the phone in her hand. She was absorbed in watching the polling results for the school committee election at Abberforth High in Surrey.
Seth cleared his throat. "Hi, Edith."
Startled by the familiar whisper, Edith tensed, her body rigid. 'That voice,' she thought, her pulse quickening. It was the same voice that always made her feel both vulnerable and strangely brave at the same time.
"Still trying to avoid me?" Seth's voice teased, but it held a darker undertone that unnerved her.
That same voice had haunted her since that night nearly a year ago, leaving her feeling unsteady. She tried to ignore it, to ignore him. But her body betrayed her—she froze when Seth caught her by the arm.
"You can act like you don’t care," he said, stepping closer, his voice low and dangerous. "But your feelings tell me otherwise."
Edith's gaze locked onto his, his brown eyes reflecting the intensity of that night. Her heart pounded as her mind screamed at her to flee, but her body refused to move. She stood rooted in place.
Finally, she tore herself free. "Get out of my way! I want nothing to do with you anymore. Move!"
Seth let go, watching her storm past with a grin. "You will soon, Edith. You can't fight it much longer. I've been imprinted by you."
"Arsehole," she spat over her shoulder, "I hate you!"
Seth turned and headed back to class, but his mind lingered on Edith. She had tethered him to her, and there was no escaping it. Almost a year had passed since he had crossed a line with her, and the bond between them had only grown stronger.
Until break at the cafetaria, Edith ordered two portions of rare steak. She’d been ravenous after today’s literature class, and her appetite had grown noticeably this month. She wasn’t used to eating undercooked meat, but now, the taste of the steak was incredibly satisfying.
“I don’t know why I’m eating so much lately. Just like everyone else here…”
The cafeteria was packed with students, all of them devouring plate after plate of meat. The sheer hunger in the air had once disgusted Edith, but today, she understood it. The school cafeteria didn’t even offer vegetables anymore.
As she cut into her meal, Seth appeared beside her, carrying a tray with four servings of steak. "Your presence ruins my appetite," she muttered, putting down her fork in frustration.
She was about to leave, but Seth grabbed her arm. "Please, Edith, stay. I’ll be quiet. I promise."
Reluctantly, Edith sat back down, expecting chaos. But Seth said nothing, which only made her more uneasy.
'What is he up to now?' she wondered, side-eyeing him as she finished her meal.
Edith had never understood why no one ever stood up to Seth and his friends, but she had vowed to change that. She ran for school committee chairman to stop them, and now she was close to winning. The polls would close at midnight, and her lead was strong.
After finishing her meal, Edith downed her strawberry juice and wiped her mouth. But as she stood to leave, a sudden wave of nausea hit her. She rushed to the girls' bathroom, barely making it to the last stall before she began vomiting violently.
"Edith, are you okay?" Seth’s voice startled her from outside the bathroom.
He had followed her from the cafeteria and now stood outside, waiting. Several girls passing by noticed him standing near the bathroom, but he didn’t seem to care.
Her stomach churned. 'Why does he always have to be there?' She thought bitterly. Between dry heaves, she snapped, "Go away, Seth! I don’t need your fake concern!"
Her body trembled, hot and cold flashes coursing through her. After emptying her stomach, she washed her hands and splashed cold water on her pale face. She felt awful—her throat burned, her head throbbed.
When she stepped out of the bathroom, there he was, waiting.
"Are you feeling better?" Seth asked, his voice softer than usual.
Edith was tired of his games. "Why do you even care?" She didn’t want to deal with him anymore, not after everything. She walked past him, her mind set on leaving him behind.
But as she passed, dizziness hit her like a wave. The world tilted, and her vision went black.
Edith opened her eyes to the unfamiliar ceiling of the school infirmary. She was lying on a bed, the softness beneath her a stark contrast to the cold floor she last remembered. She turned her head and saw Seth sitting beside her, focused on his phone.
"What are you doing here?" she asked, her voice hoarse.
Seth glanced up, the relief on his face unmistakable. "You fainted. I couldn’t just leave you."
Her head throbbed, and she pressed a hand to her forehead. "Why do you even care?" she muttered, not wanting to deal with his presence. "I don’t want to be involved with you anymore. Just go, Seth. Pretend nothing ever happened between us."
Seth hesitated, his expression uncharacteristically serious. "I can't do that, Edith. I’m worried about you." He paused, his next words softer. "I don’t want anything bad to happen to either of you."
"Either of us?" Edith’s pulse quickened, confusion clouding her thoughts. Her voice came out small, almost a whisper. "What do you mean?"
Miserable
“What are you talking about, Seth?” asked Edith.
"Both of you. You and the baby who are in your womb right now."
Like being struck by lightning at the day, that's Edith felt at this moment. She assumed that what she had just heard was wrong. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. Thinking hard to digest all these situation. Edith opened her eyes and asked, "I thought you were wrong, Seth! I'm not pregnant. So I ask you, do you want to set me up again?"
Seth shook his head and looked back with a look of sincerity at Edith. She became a different person at this time. But Edith remained vigilant, she didn't want to fall into the same pit twice.
"I only found out today. The doctor just told me what happened to you. You are pregnant and your gestational age is nine months at this time."
"This doesn't make sense. The doctor must be wrong! How could this happened?"
"Edith, wait! Goddamn it!"
Edith hurried to leave the infirmary. She ignored th
