Erin's pov

I am to be married tomorrow. The queen of the witches of our clan chose me as a peace offering to the Almock Pack in the West and tomorrow, I am going to be shipped off to them. Oh, where are my manners? My name is Erin Flemming, I am a senior witchling at the Northmore Academy.

My mother is a human and my father was the strongest fire warlock who loved my mother until his death. I was just a kid when all this happened but i can clearly remember the devotion they had to one another and this is the reason why i can not marry for something other than love.

" What are you doing standing there all distracted?" My all time best friend, Stella asked snapping me out of my thoughts

" I really do not know how you talked me into this." I said to her and she stuck her tongue out at me. After the announcement that i was to be married off, Stella and my sister decided that i needed to loosen up and go out with Stella and our other friends.

" do not tell me you are regretting it already!" She exclaimed

" yes, let us go back please."

" No, we just got here!" She huffed

" Yes and i am bored already." I argued

" No, no we are not leaving. Today is the day we are going to have fun~~" she said as she twirled around like a ballerina. With that she entered the hotel and i followed her.

We were at Mozzal hotel, the biggest and most glamorous hotel in the city. Famous people used it as a gathering place but according to Stella, it was also a hang out place for most academy students. The hotel lived up to its name because it had a gorgeous interior crystal design with a tinge of gold. Everything inside looked very expensive but all this suited the taste of all the wealthy folks who gathered here.

The place was divided into sections and we went to the section catering for students. The music was very loud and deafening, I could hear it as we walked down the passage to the students section.

" can i have your identification devices please?" One of the gaurds outside the student secrion stated

"Of course~~here~~" Stella said using her flirtatious voice she has been practicing ever since i agreed to come to this place.

The bouncer gave her a small smile at her gesture but then frowned upon looking at my device. There we go again, i was used to it though, people frown when they see a young woman with black hair because it can only mean one thing, you are a witch with no element or one with a broken core. I simply smiled at him waiting for his comment .

"I am sorry miss, but i am afraid letting you in will only pose a danger to you." He stated calmly. Boy, I was glad he was at least professional and did not start throwing insults.

" Is that so? Well, I am sorry for the trouble." I said to the bouncer. He helped me because I did not want to be there in the first place so Stella would not be mad if I walked out on our plan now given these circumstances.

" What? No! Do you know who her sister is? Do you have any idea, huh?!" Oh, gosh she was doing it again. Whenever we met a problem because of my hair color, she used my sister's influence to solve the problem or at least attempt to.

" Miss, threatening me using a powerful backer will not work. That is not how we do things around here." The bouncer said as he frowned at Stella.

" Are you sure you want to do this ?" Stella said not backing down

" She is Ame-"

" Sir, I have boosters on me so my energy will not get depleted should I go inside the venue." I quickly said to cut off Stella

"You do?" Stella asked with a shocked face.from the original elements.

" When did you go get them -mmmmm"

"Can we go in please?" I said after covering Stella's mouth before she let the bouncer know that I did not have boosters not that I needed them. Boosters are artificial elements extracted

They were first created to help black-haired witches attain some powers but were soon deemed useless because the broken core of a witch born with black hair would only use up the energy provided by the booster without allowing the witch to use the element. So in the end, they were used as energy boosters to protect cores from further damage when surrounded by stronger magic users.

I did not need boosters because I was not born with black hair. I dyed my hair because of circumstances.

Looking skeptical, the bouncer let us through and that was the start of my nightmare.

" You guys are late!" Robin exclaimed as soon as we arrived at their table. Robin and Skylar were sitting next to each other at the table and were as drunk as hell.

"Sorry, Stella could not figure out what to wear so we took time trying to find an outfit for her," I said with an apologetic smile.

" Again?" They both exclaimed in unison, making me laugh.

" Hey, do not act like you guys never struggle with outfits!"Stella said with a huff.

" Yeah but even if we struggle we would never be worse than you Stel. You have to take the time beforehand to prepare if you know that you are going to take the entire evening to find an outfit." Skylar said dryly

"You-" Stella started but I interrupted her

" Where is Aria?"I asked to change the topic before these two decided to let their claws out. Though Stella was not drunk yet she could definitely pick a fight with the drunk Skylar and I did not want to have a headache just when I had arrived.
