“I, Alpha Amarok Meyer, reject you, Azrael, as my mate for your own good. I swear it’s for your own… good. I swear.” "I, as the fragile human you told me I was, accept your rejection." The members of the pack had described this pain as something unbearable, but I never thought this would feel like dying. I didn't know what hurt me the most now: his rejection after declaring himself the killer of my sister or not being able to tell him I was carrying his baby. The fruit of the love we once shared. There was no choice for me when Alex, the Alpha of the Crescent Luna, offered to take me as his Luna, usurping my sister's place because I would rather live as her than to live with a killer.
CHAPTER 01
AZRAEL’S POV
My mom was right when she said that as soon as I turned 18, we were going to change our lives. This was something I would never forgive her for. Why? Why, at the mere instant my mom divorced my father, did she decide to come to this village?
“Would you stop crying?” My mom asked with sarcasm.
“I’m not crying,” I sobbed.
“Of course you’re not!” And then I saw my mom turning the steering wheel to the left just to let me see the big announcement, Welcome to the pretty island’. “You know, Azrael? When I was a teenager like you, this was home for me, my paradise. I know you’re going to love this place as much as I do.”
I mocked her. It was easy for her to say, and it was easy for her when she didn’t leave any friends behind. As she had said, her life was here, which meant her friends were also here. There’s no way she can understand how I feel right now.
Finally, after four hours of driving and crying on my part, the car stopped in front of a mansion. Yes! That’s what we can call it due to the antiquity and immensity of the place.
“Let’s go, my love; my friend is waiting for us!”
I sighed heavily.
“I hope you really stick to our deal.”
“Of course, my love, of course.”
What deal? I was on vacation this summer. She wanted me to change the school I currently study at for my Senior year of High school because I was going to lose all my friends and even my boyfriend. We had a deal where we said I was going to be open-minded about this place. I was going to see the advantages of starting a new life here, but if I didn’t like the place, she wasn’t going to say anything, and we were going back home.
I doubt there will be something that makes me stay.
My mom knocked on the wooden door a couple of times until it opened, allowing me to see the beauty of a thirty-six-year-old woman, I guess.
“Oh, Sandra, you’re here!” The woman said this, opening her arms to receive my mom.
I rolled my eyes. It was going to be just a month away from my real life.

AMAROK’S POV
“What do we have here?” I asked my friend, who was extending me a pile of documents.
“I don’t know, Amarok, but I think those are the issues we have to start the new plan at school for men.”
“Okay, I’ll check it out.”
“Do you need something else, Amarok?”
Suddenly, I remembered the surprise he had promised me. A playful smile was drawn on my face.
“Don’t think I have forgotten it.” I pointed at him.
“What?” His eyes widened.
“Oh, really? I think we're not speaking in the same language.”
“Of course we are! I do know what you’re talking about. You’re talking about the girls, right?” Conrad followed. “I already have them. Stay tuned; I have a surprise for you.”
“Well, I’m getting a little, you know, desperate.” We laughed.
Conrad was always going to be the best of the best. I would never doubt leaving him at my place every time I’m not available. Conrad was the best Betta, and I’m positive other packs would kill to have a Beta like mine. Despite what happened some years ago, I would never regret the day I decided to take the blame for him after having found that poor woman cut in half.
“Are you still sure you want to live your life like this? I mean, you’re 28 and you haven’t found your mate; why don't you take things seriously?”
I sighed heavily. “To be honest, I think I’ll never find my mate. That witch told me I was never going to find her since the sin I’ve committed.”
“Amarok, it wasn’t your fault; you weren’t the one who killed her. I was the one who
“Shh, don’t say anything else. Bring my girls, and let’s see how good they are.”
Conrad looked down. “Okay, king of ladies,” Conrad said, closing the door behind him.
Conrad was right; even if I didn’t kill that she-wolf, my hands were still stained with her innocent blood. I had received my punishment, and it has been not finding my mate, at least not in this life.
Suddenly, my cell phone rang in my pocket.
“Hello, Merry, How’s it going?”
“You’re not going to believe this! My friend is here with her daughter. She’s awesome!”
“Human beings, right?”
“Yeah, what’s the problem?”
“I don’t want any human being to know about us, okay?”
“Come on! They’re going to be here for a week, that’s all!”
“I’m coming; I don’t have anything to do.” And then I hung up.
Merry was really something.
*********
When I arrived at the mansion where my dear friend had her visitors, I couldn’t help but look at it as if it were a special hell. Immediately, my ears were invaded by the sound of the tires hitting the pavement. I turned around. So was this my surprise?
“Hi, hi!” Two ladies got out of the red car.
I smiled awkwardly.
“Hello, hello, ladies,” I greeted them back.
Two beautiful ladies with short skirts appeared in front of me; the cleavage was extremely rebellious. Not having a partner isn’t always a bad thing.
One of the girls approached me just to pass her hand over my chest, while the other woman took my hand, almost forcing me to hug her just to end up showing me off her cleavage.
I smiled at the girls who were giving me their best shows of gratitude for their Alpha. My life wasn’t going to be as bad as I thought it was going to be.
Suddenly, as a ray of hope that lights up in the heart, my senses were called, and the necessity to look at the door of the mansion was everything I lived for.
My eyes fixed on the little person who had come out of the mansion: her straight blonde hair, her tiny body, those ripped jeans with that brown jacket... My heart was beating so fast that cold sweat ran over my back. This couldn't be possible. I can't... it shouldn't... this can't be!
But why do her eyes fill with tears?
"Mate, my mate!" I pronounced it lowly.
That witch had been wrong all along. She said I had been punished for having killed that she-wolf, but now I realize how wrong she was.
My mate. The problem wasn't having a mate when the witch said I wouldn't have one in this life; the problem was her sense, her aura... I was sure I had been surrounded by the same one, because the woman I killed almost had the same aura and that heavenly perfume.
That she-wolf shared the same type of blood; the she-wolf could be her sister. My mate's sister
CHAPTER 02
AZRAEL'S POV
I've lost count of how many times I've rolled my eyes. How many times am I going to listen to her stupid voice showing off about what she wants in life when she left my father heartbroken? That's something I will never forgive her for.
“I'm really glad you lived a peaceful life after all." Merry said.
“Yes, it was difficult for me to understand that my first daughter was no longer with us. Wherever she is, I hope she's happy with the mom I've become."
I wasn't going to let her be put on a pedestal. My mom was always trying to talk about my sister when it came to playing the victim card.
“Oh, really?" I asked, Merry, and my mom looked at me. "Because as far as I know, you're still being the same bitch that cheated on my father!"
“Azrael, this is enough!" She raised her voice.
“Enough is enough, heavenly mother!" I raised my hands and turned around before she dared touch me a single hair.
My blood pr
