Chapter 1

"Isn't it beautiful?” Elmira gasped, probably surprised, and pulled from her thoughts. “I’d choose the green dress,” she added as the maid laid out the options on her large bed and continued styling her hair. “Between Isabella and me, who's prettier?” Elmira asked, her voice revealing her loss of control.

She couldn't help it; the Alpha had never truly looked her way. “You’re prettier, Luna,” the maid replied gently. Elmira could hear the careful attempt to comfort her, even if it wasn’t sincere. Once she was fully dressed, Elmira stepped out of her room. She had planned to surprise Alpha Luciano—it was his birthday today. She had spent two weeks preparing, hoping today would be perfect.

“What are you doing here?” A feminine voice asked, as she approached his quarters and it startled her. “Isabella! You scared me” She looked around the room, to see if Alpha Luciano was there. “I don’t get it. Why are you still here, holding onto false hope?” Isabella’s tone was mocking. “If you had any self-respect, you would’ve left this pack already.” Elmira lowered her gaze, trying to avoid confrontation.

“I only came to see the Alpha… if you’ll excuse me.” “I'm sorry, I only came here to look for Alpha, if you excuse me” She made to leave the room, but Isabella grabbed her arm and shoved her against the wall. “I’m not done talking,” Isabella said, gripping Elmira’s chin tightly. “Let me go! Isabella!” Elmira’s voice rose in panic. She managed to push Isabella’s hand away. Isabella backed up with a grin.

“I didn’t come here for you,” Elmira said through a shaky breath. “I came for Alpha Luciano. So, please, leave me alone,..she spoke and sniffled in. “How dare you speak to me like that?” Isabella scoffed. “No wonder Luciano wants nothing to do with you.” Then, without warning, Isabella snatched a small object from the nearby table, gave herself a cut across the cheek, and let out a scream.

“What…?” Elmira’s eyes widened in horror. She was frozen in place, staring at Isabella as blood trickled from her face. The sight became unbearable for her. “You horrible woman!” Isabella cried dramatically. “Jealousy made you do this, didn’t it? Her voice was as loud anything.

Alpha Luciano stormed into the room. The moment he saw Isabella hurt, he didn’t hesitate—he struck Elmira across the face. “What did you do?!” His voice thundered. Tears filled Elmira's eyes and words refused to find their way out of her mouth. “I… I didn't do anything” She managed to speak, but Alpha Luciano wasn't ready to hear that. “Honey, are you hurt?” He asked, reaching out to Isabella who held her cheek, screaming and crying with every single energy she had.

“Luciano!!...my face!!..she cried out. “I’ll take you to the hospital,” he said, casting one final, cold glare at Elmira before walking out. Elmira stood frozen. Her world felt like it had cracked open. The Alpha she had given everything to didn’t even give her a chance to explain. She returned to her room, hands trembling. She reached for her phone and dialed a number—no answer. She tried again, still nothing. Then the door burst open. Luciano stood there—furious.

His presence was overwhelming, darker than she had ever seen. “I didn’t do anything…” she stammered, backing away. Elmira's eyes went to his elongated fang, his long claws, it felt like he was going to end her here. His tone was final. “Let’s end this now.” Outside, the skies opened up in heavy rain. “I, Luciano Salvatore, Alpha of the Night Walker Pack, hereby reject you as my mate and Luna,” he declared. The hatred was evident in his tone. “I… I can’t accept that,” she whispered,..her gaze locked with his. “Don’t make me regret sparing you,” Luciano warned. Her lips trembled.

“I accept.” If there's one thing she's learned, it's to never take his words for granted. “Good.” Guard!! He called, and they assembled.“Take her away. I don’t want to see her in this house again.” Those were his last words.

The guards obeyed without question. The maids watched quietly as Elmira, broken and humiliated, was escorted out of the home she once thought was hers. Outside, rain soaked her dress and hair. Cold wind bit at her skin. With no money, no family, and nowhere to go, she walked through the storm. After a long time, her strength gave out.

She sat on the roadside, shivering, light-headed, until her vision blurred and everything went black. This was the end for her, so she thought. She lay there for hours before an elderly woman found her. “Someone help me,” the woman called, and with the help of strangers, she carried Elmira into a taxi and took her home. — “Grandma?” a young boy called as the woman entered the house with Elmira in her arms.

“Who’s that?” The boy questioned, following his grandmother, to the sitting room. “I don’t know, Henry. I found her outside. She must be in trouble,” the woman replied, gently wiping Elmira’s face. “But what if she’s a rogue? You know how the Alpha is,” Henry asked nervously. “Shh… it’s okay. The Alpha won’t find out, even if she's a rogue” she said calmly, reassuring him. After preparing a hot bath, she gently woke Elmira. Her eyes were swollen from crying, her body drained.

She sat up, and looked around the house, even before a word could be uttered, tears rolled down her cheek.” where am I?” “In a safe place, dear.” It's okay honey, you're safe” The Grandma replied, prompting Elmira to exhale, feeling safe. “The little boy stared at her behind the dining room. After some minutes, she went upstairs, to the place where Grandma had prepared her bath. She stayed long before coming out of the bathroom.

Later, she was offered a warm drink and a blanket. Elmira sipped the tea slowly, grateful for the kindness. Over the following weeks, the woman—whom she came to call Grandma—and Henry became her new family. Grandma helped her get a job at a café she knew well. Though the past haunted her, Elmira began to heal. Grandma always made sure she had whatever she wanted. But three months later, everything changed again.

She stared at the pregnancy test in disbelief. Tears ran down her face. She tried to take drastic measures, overwhelmed by fear—but Grandma stopped her, held her, and told her life was still worth living. She have to accept her life. That night, as they sat in the small kitchen… “Here, drink some milk,” Grandma said, handing her a glass of fresh milk. Elmira took it gratefully, sighing as she sank into the couch.

“Today was tough. I don’t know how I’ll take care of a child.” “You’ll be the best mother,” Grandma said from the kitchen. “I just know it.” “I’m broke… what do I even have to offer?” Come on, no negative thoughts. You will be the best mother any child could ask for,” she said, earning a chuckle from Elmira.

“Why not ask the father for help?” Grandma asked, turning to face Elmira, who looked troubled. “He’s… gone. My baby has no father. Just me. And you,” she said quietly. Grandma nodded and didn’t push further. She could tell Elmira wasn’t ready to share the truth. She thought, gently slicing the onion. — The night drew faster than expected, the cold calm breeze coming from the Sal ix Babylonica tree made everywhere unnecessarily cold. Looking up at the sky, Isabella smiled, feeling proud of herself.

“Hey,” Alpha Luciano called softly, placing a light kiss on her neck. She turned and returned the affection with a smile. He hugged her tightly, resting his head gently against her shoulder. Alpha Luciano noticed an unusual excitement in her.

Curious, he pulled away slightly to study her face. “What is it? You look excited,” he remarked. She nodded, barely able to contain her joy.. “Guess… make a guess!” she teased, eyes sparkling. “I’m not good at that,” he said with a small, uncertain chuckle. “I’m pregnant!” she announced. Alpha Luciano’s smile slowly disappeared.

Isabella’s face fell as she noticed the change in him. She had expected joy—warmth, even celebration. But instead, she saw confusion, then something colder. “What do you mean, Isabella?” His voice had dropped, distant.

He took a step back. She stepped forward, trying to close the space between them. “What do you mean what? I’m pregnant.” She reached for his hand, but he pulled it away sharply. “What is going on, Luciano? Why are you acting all different? “Whose child is it?” he asked flatly, his voice barely hiding the tension underneath. She blinked, stunned.

“Yours, of course.” “No.” His voice was cold now. “Don’t lie to me.” He turned away, pacing, his emotions clearly spiraling. “Luciano, please,” she said, voice trembling,..you're hurting me. “It’s your baby. I swear it is.” His eyes changed into gold, his hair slowly rising.

His breath was coming out fast, he slammed her heavily on the wall and blood rushed out from her nose. “Speak!!” He ordered and she gasped out. “Luciano… the baby…. It is yours!” “Lies!!!.. The child isn't mine!!” He yelled, and the entire place shook. Without a second of hesitation, he transformed into a black, gigantic wolf, his canines already bared.

“Please!!… please!!” She cried out desperately. “Whose child is it?” he asked again, his voice sharper this time. “She hesitated, then said quietly, “It’s Raymond’s… It’s your brother’s He dropped her and shifted back into his human form.

Luciano turned away, jaw clenched, fists trembling at his sides. This was why he had never spoken of his health issues. This was the secret he had buried deep. He fear such revelation. And now it had surfaced in the worst way.

“Get out,” he said in a low voice, every word laced with pain. “Before I say something I’ll regret.” Isabella turned and left in haste, wiping her tears as she disappeared from view. Alone, Luciano stared blankly at the wall. His hands clenched until his knuckles turned white. “I’ll never have an heir,” he muttered. “Is this my punishment for being the Alpha King?” The last child. “How long are you going to curse me?" He yelled.

He kept hitting the wall until he couldn't feel his hand. Furthermore, he stopped, breathing heavily. “You haven’t changed, have you?” a calm, unsettling voice echoed from the shadows. Luciano stiffened. “Who’s there?” he demanded, tracing the unknown shadow.

A stranger stepped forward, barely illuminated by the moonlight. “I know about your brother Raymond. I know about the prophecy—the rise of a new Alpha.” Alpha Luciano’s heart skipped. It was a legend passed down through generations. The prophecy had been long forgotten by most, but not by him. A prophecy that spoke of a new Alpha, one who would challenge the existing state of affairs and usher in a new era. “I don’t know what you’re talking about,” he said, keeping his tone even. The stranger only chuckled.

“Oh, but you do.” Then, just as suddenly, the figure vanished into the darkness as footsteps approached. Alpha!" Someone called, and Luciano went to get the door. “It’s past eight, Beta Chris,” he said, opening the door halfway. "I'm very sorry to bother you but…"

He didn't finish his statements before Luciano slammed the door behind and he swallowed the remaining words. "And I guessed that right" He muttered and turned to leave. Three steps forward, the door opened again. Chris smiled and hurried inside. "What is the matter?" Luciano questioned, treating his wound. "What happened?" Beta Chris asked, referring to his bleeding hands. “That’s not the question right now,” Luciano replied sharply.

Chris cleared his throat. "I'll get straight to the point. It's been three months since you rejected your mate and the Luna of this pack, so the council is concerned," he explained. Luciano chuckled briefly before his expression turned serious. Luciano gave a short laugh, but it faded quickly. “Better no Luna than one who brings shame.” "But the council is worried! You should have a mate, someone who will stand by your side at all times," he paused and placed his hands on Alpha Luciano's shoulders. "Someone who's willing to grow old with you, who will help you raise your future pups. Just tell me why you don't want a mate?" Beta Chris asked, raising his eyebrows.

"Did you say pups?” His voice cracked with emotion. “I’m… I can’t have children, Chris.” “Chris’s expression fell. “Luciano…” “I’m infertile. I’ve known for a long time. This is my burden—my curse. Whatever punishment the Moon Goddess has placed on me… I’ll bear it.”

"We can get it sorted out" Beta Chris said, moving his face to the other direction, as he shielded his face with his hands. He folded his arms, a quiet fury simmering behind his calm. Chris remained silent, respecting the storm in his Alpha’s heart.

Chapter 2

"Alpha Luciano!" Beta Chris called, as he entered into the Alpha's office.

"Not now Beta Chris, I'm busy" Alpha Luciano replied, his eyes still fixed on his laptop.

"You have to see this, now!" He emphasized the word, and Alpha Luciano looked at him.

"What is it?" He asked, and they both hurriedly left the house.

"Look!" Beta Chris said, pointing at the wonder in the sky.

It was an Eclipsed Union.

The sun and the moon had aligned in the sky, creating a mesmerizing celestial event. The sun and the moon appeared side by side, their radiant glows slowly merging into a single, blood-red orb that cast an eerie and ominous light upon the pack.

"You  know what this sign means, right?" Beta Chris asked, looking at Alpha Luciano, who furrowed his brow.

"The new Alpha is born" Alpha Luciano muttered, his gaze locked on the eclipsed union.
