Annotation

A heartbreak in the past was the trigger for Alpha Noah Walgreen to become a cold, cruel and lonely wolf. He is unwilling to open his heart to anyone, and he makes that abundantly clear when he glares at the small, gray-eyed, slender-bodied figure who looks up to him with recognition: his Mate. ~~~>> "Did you really think I would be excited because you came back for me?" Her tone was cold and cutting. "Did you expect me to jump for joy like a stupid little girl, Noah?" "Greta..." "Shut up and get out, I never want to see you again.”

Chapter 1

His eyes, wide open from the deplorable spectacle before him, seemed bloodshot.

His breathing was erratic, and the fists at his sides prevented him from doing something reckless, even though his mind was a mess with what he was able to see and hear.

Moans... gasps... sighs... frequently emerged from two bodies intertwined in the rhythm of passion, lust, and infidelity, sounds that tormented and drilled into his head without mercy.

When Noah met his Mate, he thought it was the best thing that had ever happened to him and that he had never felt so good in his entire life.

She loved him as much as he did—or so he thought—because with what he was witnessing, it seemed that he was the only one who had invested in the love in their relationship.

He entered the room with a loud crash, startling the lovers who looked at him with disbelief and confusion... or at least one of them did.

"Paula..."

"Love... listen to me, please? It's not what you think," she spoke in a pleading tone, but Noah couldn't hear her clearly.

Everything hit him all at once, trying to find in his memories some moment where he might have done something to deserve this, but there was nothing.

So, why? Why did she do it?

“D*mn you…”

“Love, look at me…” She felt his hand on her cheek, but he grabbed her wrist roughly.

“Don’t you dare touch me,” he spoke as firmly as possible. “Never again in your life.”

“No. Don’t do this to me, please, Noah,” she sobbed. “I love you…”

That enraged him beyond measure, snapping him out of the shock from witnessing the betrayal.

He looked at his Mate with rage flashing in his eyes, and she must have noticed because she suddenly seemed frightened by his expression.

A pang in his chest caught him off guard, and he couldn’t lie to himself—it hurt.

It hurt to know that the person he loved was afraid of his expression, but that wouldn’t fix what she had consciously done to him.

“You love me? Really?” he spat with irony. “Then why the hell did you sleep with him?”

He couldn’t bear it any longer and pushed her away. He didn’t want her close because he felt capable of killing her with his own hands. He preferred to keep his distance.

“Alpha…”

“And with one of my men! A Delta!” He turned to him. “D*mn traitor. I’ll finish you off without mercy!”

The man remained impassive, only his eyes were cold, and the Alpha noticed, but at that moment, he didn’t care.

“Then tell me!” He looked back at her. “Do you love me?! Are you serious?!”

She kept crying out loud, apologizing and repeating that she loved him. But he couldn’t believe her words anymore.

He told himself that if that was her love, then he didn’t want it. It would only cause him more pain than she already had.

“And you,” he looked at Ezra, the Delta. “I’ll tear you apart, d*mn scoundrel.”

“At least now you know the truth. Have some dignity and leave,” he said with calm mockery this time. “I don’t owe you any loyalty anymore. Do whatever you want with your pathetic pack.”

That mocking smile on his face irritated him; it was obvious that he found the whole situation amusing, which infuriated Noah even more.

He couldn’t help himself and punched him in the face before grabbing him by the throat.

“I still deserve respect from you, b*st*rd,” he growled.

He was about to kill him when Paula clung to his free arm, looking at him pleadingly while crying.

“L-Love, wait… listen to me, please.”

He looked at her from head to toe, feeling disgust and revulsion at seeing her half-naked and disheveled from everything she had done with the stupid Delta.

He couldn’t bear to see in this state the one who was supposed to be with him forever.

"Agh!"

Suddenly, he felt a blow to his face. When he looked, the other wolf had already disappeared.

"He escaped, like the d*mn coward he is," he said through gritted teeth.

Chapter 2

He ran a hand over his face and grimaced, but the wound healed by the time he looked back at his Mate.

"I was going to give you everything. I was going to make you my queen, but your selfishness and greed took it all away."

"No, love. H-He forced me, I didn’t..."

"Shut up!" Noah raised his hand. "I might have believed that if I hadn’t heard you. Or are you going to deny that you said you were going to leave me to be with him? Didn’t you say I was only good for satisfying you?"

"I-I..."

Seeing her like this, not knowing what else to say, completely shattered him. Knowing it was all true, that she never loved him...

"I can't take this anymore," he murmured. "I, Noah Walgreen, reject you, Paula Abbey, as my Mate and future Luna of the pack."

"No...!" She clutched her chest and screamed from the pain of being rejected by her Mate.

Noah had heard that it was the worst pain a wolf could
