That night, her group was wiped out by the enemy, and she lost her father and older sister. Her status as a Beta child meant nothing under the rule of Alpha Johannes. After one year, she fell into the hands of an Alpha werewolf. Romeo Crowley, Alpha of the Mountain Twins Pack, didn't just buy Lyssera. He trapped her in a contract marriage before she learned the painful truth: Romeo was her sister's mate, Athena. They are bound by a lie that could destroy them. How long can they lie to the world and themselves?
Chapter 1
Lyssera’s POV
I didn’t know why this forest had become so vast. It took me a long time to get out of the forest, which was rarely visited by werewolves and lycans.
I usually ride a bike.
I rushed out of the dorm. Panic gripped my neck and made me unable to think clearly. Luckily, I didn’t pass out when I heard the bad news.
“I’m tired.” I paused for a moment to catch my breath. My chest felt like it was filled with dust and rocks.
I was already at the end of the forest and had to pass through the river's edge because it was the fastest way to my group.
My hand reached into my pants pocket to take out my phone. My father and older sister didn't answer my messages and calls. The most terrifying thing was that our mind link wasn't connected.
'I will give you my energy.' My wolf's voice was so faint that it was almost inaudible, like the air whispering to me.
'Thank you, Ayla.' I didn't even know if she heard me.
Even though my wolf only gave me a little extra energy, it benefited me.
I dashed to my group, keeping my balance so I wouldn't fall into the river.
Various bad thoughts haunted me, and I couldn't shake them off. I also asked why my father or older sister didn't tell me when the enemy attacked our group.
My eyes sparkled seeing the front gate of my group, but worry suddenly gripped me.
"Why aren't there any warriors guarding the gate?"
My feet touched the ground of my group's territory. I gazed at the sturdy front gate, then lowered my head to see the footprints of hundreds of wolves.
My breath caught as I detected a burnt scent, and my ears picked up no sounds from within.
I instantly lost the courage to go through the gate.
‘You can do it, Lyssera.’ My wolf used the last bit of her energy to speak. She didn’t want me to be a coward.
My heart was racing so fast it felt like it would burst, and my fists were gripped so tightly that my nails pierced into my flesh as I entered my group.
Just a few steps, I was confronted with a scene that ripped my heart and sapped all of my energy.
They burned my group overnight.
Dozens of wolf warrior corpses lay in the street, their bodies charred, and I couldn’t recognize them.
My tears flowed freely. I hugged my body, which was shaking violently. My eyes looked around wildly and restlessly.
“Dad. Athena.” I shouted until my voice was hoarse. “They can’t be dead. Moon Goddess must be protecting them.”
My legs felt weak as if they had no bones when I saw blood and rogue corpses along my steps.
"Dad. Athena. Alpha Aiden.” I lost my optimism, but my mouth didn’t tire of calling them in a weak voice.
“No. No. They’re still alive.” I tried to contact them through the mind link.
My trembling hands made me drop my phone over and over again onto the sidewalk. I wiped my tears and snot with my shirt sleeve.
“Someone is still alive.”
Those heartless people stood in front of me. They stared at me fiercely and were ready to kill me cruelly.
“She is Beta Yohan’s daughter. I am sure her wolf will never rise. She is not a threat,” said the head warrior of the rogue group that destroyed my group.
They laughed at my weakness.
“What should we do?”
“We sell her to Alpha Johannes.”
“That’s a good idea.”
“No. I don’t want to.” I shuddered in horror and shook my head. Unfortunately, my body was too weak to move.
They hit me on the head with a wooden block. I didn't know how they brought me to Alpha Johannes' house. All I know is that they really sold me to Alpha Johannes.
"Hey, wake up all of you."
I jolted awake, gasping for breath, as loud screams echoed and a stick banged against the iron bars of the prison cells.
“Hurry up and shower! Put those clothes on!” they barked, throwing clothes into each cell.
“That same dream again,” I muttered, staring at the green dress. Like always, the nightmare appeared every time I closed my eyes.
I lay on the cold floor of a room barely wider than a drainage ditch, relying only on a small air vent for light and air.
Alpha Johannes had put me here. He didn’t kill me that night—he sold me.
For a year, my life was colorless and full of fog. Alpha Johannes wasn't ruthless, but that didn’t mean his house wasn't like hell. It was sucking my sanity bit by bit.
I wasn’t a slave who was tortured daily, but even the slightest mistake could get me thrown into that cruel prison for days. Everything finally exploded that night, when I fought those who tried to take me to Alpha Johannes' room.
“Good evening, ladies and gentlemen. Thank you for coming to tonight’s auction.”
I sat behind the giant red curtain. Around me sat women and men who seemed to be my age or younger. They were werewolves, and no one was a rogue like me.
That night, I would have a new master. Whether he would be more cruel than Alpha Johannes or not.
“She is a rogue. We just got her last night. She has been Alpha Johannes' slave for a year.”
A year ago, I was Beta’s second daughter, and now I was sitting in the auction chair with the spotlight shining on me. The Moon Goddess loved to give me pain.
I saw the scornful and dismissive gazes of the masked people.
My body was filled with nervousness and fear. I shuddered as the large room felt cold. My chest tightened, as if I were competing with them for oxygen.
“Let me tell you about Alpha Johannes. He is the Alpha rogue of the Black Forest group. He is known to be very cruel. This rogue woman is used to being tortured.”
The auction participants were competing to acquire me. Their eyes radiated the evil they intended to do to me. I felt like an object created to be harmed.
Not long after, the auctioneer declared someone the winner; no one else could top his bid.
They dragged me off the stage as the bright light shone on the auctioneer. I sat with the other auction participants in a room. We were all going to have new masters.
“Alpha Romeo of the Mountain Twins Pack bought you. You’re so lucky,” the woman with the black hair in a bun said to me with envy.
“But I pity you. Your new master is just as cruel as your old one.” Her expression didn’t match her words. She seemed interested in what was going to happen to me.
A few minutes later, a muscular man, whom I assumed was a warrior, picked me up.
I met Alpha Romeo in his car. He sat next to the driver and only glanced at me without making a sound.
Throughout the journey, I lowered my head. His Alpha aura was so strong. I didn't dare look at him, let alone pay attention to his appearance.
Alpha Romeo handed me a big black robe that wrapped my entire body as we were about to exit the car.
My feet stepped hesitantly into his house. I didn't know if I could survive in that magnificent mansion.
Take her to her room." Alpha Romeo handed me over to a head omega.
“Yes, Alpha," the head omega nodded. She was surprised to see me standing behind her Alpha, but her face quickly returned to normal. "I'll show you to your room."
The head omega said nothing to me until I entered the room. Alpha Romeo gave me one of the guest rooms with a queen-size bed.
"Am I going to be his bed warmer?"
Moon Goddess, I would rather die.
Chapter 2
I couldn’t sleep with this anxious feeling, even though Alpha Romeo seemed to want me to be comfortable while staying in his mansion.
This room was like a hotel suite. Soft bed, leather sofa, and comfortable bathroom. I didn’t have to worry about running out of towels.
All the clothes in the closet fit my body. Maybe they thought all women had bodies like mine.
The thought made me shudder. It seemed that Alpha Romeo had a female bed partner before, and then the woman used to stay in this room. So, where is the woman?
Stupid question. Of course, Alpha Romeo kicked the woman out of his house after he got tired of her, and I would be like that woman.
My assumption was based on a true story. When I worked at Alpha Johannes’ house, I saw it with my own eyes.
“Lyssera.”
I gasped in surprise when a knock on the door and a woman’s voice called out to me.
“We'll have breakfast after Alpha.” The head omega said as I opened the door and locked ey
