Chapter 1
Gabriella's POV
I dragged my tired body up the stairs, heading to my boyfriend's apartment.
I was so tired and I just needed to cuddle with him and sleep. Work at the cafe was hectic today.
I opened the door and noticed the extra pair of shoes in the living room, an extra pair of feminine shoes I might add, but there was no one there.
Did Mark have someone over? If he did where are they?
I notice the Chanel bag on the sofa and my heart starts pounding.
No, no. Mark won't do that to me.
Slowly, trying to make as little noise as I possibly could, I went towards the bedroom, hoping for anything except to see my boyfriend cheating on me.
I hear voices inside the room and I pause, my hands shaking just a few inches from the door handle.
I trust Mark. Maybe it's all a misunderstanding.
Taking a deep breath, I push open the door, nothing preparing me for what I am about to see.
I stared in horror as my best friend, no ex-best friend, sat on my ex-boyfriend both of them naked on his bed.
Mark didn't even look at me when the door was opened, breaking my already broken heart into tiny pieces. Veronica, my ex-best friend turned to look at me with a satisfied smirk on her face.
“Oh no. We weren't expecting you to be back this early." She fakes a gasp, not looking even a tad bit remorseful.
When we said we were going to share everything. I didn't know we were going to share my boyfriend too.
With tears in my eyes, I turn around. Running back the same way I came.
How could they both do this to me? My boyfriend and my best friend?
I half expected Mark to call my name, to try and stop me. But he didn't.
Flagging a taxi down, I told him my address and we drove off.
Tears streamed down my eyes as I looked out the window, the passing buildings look blurry in my eyes.
“Whatever you're crying about isn't worth your tears." The taxi driver says looking at me from the mirror
I looked up to meet his eyes, then cleaned my eyes, sniffling.
“If it's a boy, then he's really stupid to break the heart of a pretty girl like you." He says again and I chuckle not saying anything.
He looked to be about my father's age, spotting grey hairs on his head.
“If it makes you feel better, you should go out this night just to unwind. A few drinks in your system might work.” He tells me when we stop in front of my apartment building.
Thanking him, I smile and pay.
I stayed indoors all through the night watching sad movies and crying my eyes out.
Maybe the taxi driver is right. I shouldn't be crying because of this. Partying would probably make me feel better.
I looked at myself in the mirror the next morning feeling tired. Eye bags decorated my eyes and I looked like Wednesday, the cartoon Wednesday.
My doorbell rang and my eyes snapped to the door, the only people who visited me were the two who cheated on me.
And I don't want to see either of their faces right now.
The bell rings a few times and I ignore it. Hoping whoever it is would go away.
“Gabby. I know you're in there. Open the door let me explain.” Mark's voice came from outside, he stopped ringing the doorbell and switched to banging with his fist.
Oh God. Curling up on my sofa, I hope he gets the hint and leaves me alone. I don't want anything to do with him anymore. I sent him a break-up text last night and I was hoping he would take it and not bother me again.
“Gabby baby." He calls, his voice sounding broken. “Please just let me explain."
Sighing, I push the duvet I had used to cover myself away, getting up from the sofa.
Alright, let's hear whatever lie he's about to tell me. I've been throwing a pity party for myself all through the night when they were probably still at his place cuddling and laughing at me for being stupid.
After counting down to one, I pulled the door open at the same second he raised his fist to knock on the door.
He looked at me in relief when I opened the door, pulling me into his arms.
The smell I used to love so much was smelling worse than garbage and I loathed it so much now.
I softly pushed him away from me, folding my arms in front of me. I saw the small frown forming on his face but I ignored it, keeping my face stoic.
“I don't know what you were thinking when you sent that text, but it's not what you think.” He says and I scoff, looking away.
Is this supposed to be an apology? It sounds like he is trying to gaslight and make me feel stupid.
“It's not what I think? Really? Mark, I saw you with my best friend on the same bed both of you shirtless. And you're telling me it's not what I think? What am I supposed to think?” I ask, keeping my voice level. I wanted to scream at him and hit him but I couldn't let him know that he was hurt.
“I know you are hurt but.."
“No, I'm not." I lie immediately, cutting him off.
I know my puffy eyes gave my lie away immediately but I don't care.
“I'm fine. I am. I hope you're happy though. And if the text wasn't clear enough for you then I'd say it out to you. We are done."
With my final words, I slammed the door shut on his shocked face, feeling a little bit satisfied.
Yeah, I'd be fine. I just need to sleep and probably go party night.
Chapter 2
I stood at the entrance of the club, everything in me screaming to get out of there and go back home.
Veronica was the party type, not me, she usually dragged me to her parties whenever she went for one but they usually didn't interest me.
Now here I am, at my first party without her.
I had gotten a room in the hotel just in case anything happened and home was too far for me to go.
“Are you gonna go in or not?" The bouncer asked, obviously tired of me standing there and not doing anything. I turned to look at him to see him staring at me with an eyebrow raised and interest clearly in his eyes.
He looked Italian and was very attractive.
Taking one deep breath, I give him an apologetic smile before walking in.
I just need to unwind and I'd be fine.
Heading straight to the bar, I sit on a stool and look around, unsure of what to do.
“You look lonely." I hear a voice say from beside me and I turn, meeting a pair o
