You immediately dislike Kingsley with how he appears to ignore his wife and mate. You might think to yourself that Freya should not put up with being treated like a slave by everyone in her life. It takes a long time to warm up to Kingsley. Grace really is the definition of a wicked stepmother. Halfway through the story, you think it must be near the end, but a few twists and turns and you find yourself in the "just one more chapter before bed" situation. I found it a slow burning story but worth sticking with it till the end
