Deskripsi

“Marry me.” It was a plea born of absolute desperation, a final attempt to survive the wreckage of her life. She thought Ram was her safe harbor—the quiet, steady man who had watched over her from the shadows. She expected comfort. She got an icy, heart-shattering rejection. “You shouldn’t have come here.” But when she turns to flee, the exit slams shut. The gentle bystander vanishes, replaced by a dominant predator who traps her against his chest, refusing to let go. As his grip tightens, the terrifying truth setlles in that she didn't find a savior. She walked right into a trap. Whispering against her ear, his voice drops to a dark, possessive promise: “You asked me to marry you. But you don’t get to pick and choose when you want me.” "Coming in was your choice but letting you go is mine" he smiled. Locked in his room with no escape, she realizes too late—she has no idea who Ram really is. And he has no intention of ever letting her go.

Character & prologue

Prologue

She stood at the edge of the world she once believed in, her heart aching with betrayal and loss. The night was eerily silent, save for the howling wind that whipped through her long, untamed locks. The chill crept into her bones, a bitter reminder of how warmth could disappear in an instant—just like love, just like trust. The place that once felt safe now seemed foreign, alien, like a cruel illusion shattered by the harsh light of truth.

Her chest rose and fell erratically as she tried to make sense of what had just unfolded. Hours ago, she had believed she was cherished, held close by the man she thought would protect her from the world. His embrace had felt secure, his whispered promises had lulled her into a false sense of hope. But now? Now, she stood alone, discarded like an old, useless relic. The weight of his lies pressed down on her, suffocating, unbearable.

She had been used. Every stolen glance, every affectionate touch, every word spoken in hushed tones—it had all been part of a cruel game. His charming words and tender smiles had been nothing more than tools of manipulation.

She had given him her heart, her trust, her everything, only to have it tossed aside as if it meant nothing. The realization was like a blade slicing through her soul, leaving behind an open wound that burned with the sting of betrayal. With trembling hands, she clutched at her chest, as if holding the shattered pieces of her heart together would stop the pain. But it was useless.

The damage was done, and she would never be the same again. Desperation clawed at her, whispering dangerous thoughts into her ear. She could not allow herself to remain the weak, naive girl who had been so easily deceived. No, something inside her shifted, cracked, and reformed into something new—something reckless, something that spoke of vengeance and redemption.

She would not be broken. She would not be used again. And in the midst of her chaos, he appeared. His presence was steady, unmoving, like a silent guardian watching from the shadows. He had been there all along—watching, waiting—but never interfering. He had never tried to touch the darkness that threatened to consume her, but he had never truly left either.

She turned to him, eyes brimming with unshed tears, her voice cracking under the weight of her anguish.

“Marry me.”

The words left her lips in a breathless whisper, a plea, a command, a desperate attempt to grasp at something—anything—to anchor herself. She expected him to say yes. She expected him to be the salvation she so desperately sought.

After all, wasn’t he the one who had always been there, offering quiet support in the background? Wouldn’t he be the one to finally catch her before she fell into the abyss? But the answer she received was not the one she had hoped for.

“You shouldn’t come here,” he said, his tone sharp, cutting through the fragile hope she clung to. Her heart twisted painfully at his words. She had been foolish to think he would accept, foolish to think anyone would want to pick up the broken pieces of what remained of her. She clenched her fists, swallowing down the bitter taste of rejection.

“I had no choice because of Aunt. Even I didn’t want to come here,” she muttered, her voice laced with frustration as she shoved a small packet of tablets into his hand. It was a simple exchange, one that should have ended there. She had done what she came for, had endured his cold words and his indifferent gaze.

There was nothing left for her here. She turned to leave, eager to escape before her emotions betrayed her further.

But before she could take a step outside, his hand shot out, pressing firmly against the door. Her breath hitched. She gulped, a sudden wave of nervousness washing over her. His presence loomed behind her, dangerously close.

“What are you doing? Move aside, I want to go outside,” she said, her voice quivering as she tried to push his hand away. But he didn’t budge. And then, in a swift, unexpected movement, he sneaked his arm around her waist, pulling her back against his solid chest.

A startled gasp escaped her lips as the heat of his body seeped through her thin clothing. The air between them grew thick, charged with something unspoken, something raw and dangerous. His grip on her waist was firm, possessive, as if silently telling her that she wasn’t going anywhere. She stiffened, her heart pounding in her chest. She swallowed hard, her mind racing.

Did she? Did she truly understand? Perhaps she didn’t. Perhaps, in her desperation, she had sought refuge in the only place that had ever felt safe. But now, standing here, trapped between the past and an uncertain future, she wasn’t sure of anything anymore. Her fingers curled into fists at her sides. She wasn’t the same girl she had been before.

She wouldn’t allow herself to be weak again. If he wouldn’t take her, if he wouldn’t be her salvation—then she would forge her own path. One way or another. ---

Chapter 1

Author’s POV

"Wrong move, pari it's not ladylike to enter inside a man's room alone" Ram’s voice was like ice, cutting straight through the heavy silence of the dimly lit room. His eyes burned with a dangerous intensity that made a shiver run down her spine. Looming in the doorway, his tall frame felt like an unmovable wall. He looked pale—sickly, even—but the sheer weight of his presence hadn't lessened at all.

"I didn't have a choice. Aunt asked me to bring your medicine," she muttered, keeping her eyes glued to the floor. Her fingers clamped down tightly on the foil blister pack, her hands trembling. Her instinct told her to run, to escape the suffocating tension building between them. And she did, she tried her best to run away but the moment she turned to leave, a heavy hand slammed against the doorframe right next to her head.

The sharp smack echoed through the room, making her flinch. "What are you doing?" Her breath hitched. "Mo
