AMELIA

"Amelia! You forgot your spec!" I heard my colleague shout as I rushed out of the office, ready to go home.

I made a quick stop at the door and turned to face Mariela, arching my eyebrows to find out why she had called me back again for the third time.

"This," Mariela pointed to my desk and there laid a file full of patients' documents that I told her I'll take home with me to work on.

I mouthed an oh and rushed back to pick up the file, searching my eyes around the areas of my desk. "Anything else, anything else?" I mumbled to myself hurriedly. It was almost midnight and I had to leave for my pack that was some meters away from where I work. I was late and my drive home was about twenty minutes.

"You should go home very early tomorrow, Amelia, your leave is three days, why are you in such a hurry?" Mariela pouted, leaning on her desk, her hands crossed beneath her bosom. I smiled knowing what she meant by her words. I was on leave and she was not pleased which meant she would be bored staying in the hospital with no one to chat with since I was her chat partner.

"I know you'll miss me, you don't have to make it popular," I said to her before I swirled around to face her. Heading for the door after scrutinizing my desk unable to find anything I might have forgotten again, I walked over to Mariela and placed a peck on both of her cheeks. "I love you, hun, you should have a good time before I get back," I asserted and moved away, trotting towards the door to leave.

"Have a good time too and greet grandmother for me, tell her I don't miss you but I miss her," Mariela pouted and I let out a loud chuckle, as I ran my way through the hallway.

"Here she comes, the good girl."

"Geez, I hate her smell!"

"I can't wait for her to leave, she disgusts me."

"Shut up, Jane, you should stop the hating words, why are you so jealous of her?"

"Jealous? Whatever."

I heard the gossip and hatred as I came into view, passing through the receptionist where the nurses stay and hang out whenever they are not busy. Even after hearing their abusive words at me, I walked past them, greeting them with smiles plastered on my face and they shared the real fake smiles back with me.

This was the very price I had to pay for being a brilliant and popular neurosurgeon in a 3-tiers hospital. Not only that, I was only twenty-three and had a successful career. I was rich and powerful with a reputable status to maintain.

With my hard work, I was given the executive post in the big hospital known around the state which was most surprising to people.

Some do appreciate me and take me as their role model while some pretend to love me but poke fun at me behind my back. Although I knew all this was going on, I never let it affect my career. Like why the hell will I take it to heart? I have been hard-working all my life and I deserve whatever I got.

I got outside of the parking lot and the cold waft hit my skin, harshly. I groaned, tugging on my coat and running to get my car at the parking lot. When I got to my car, I used the button key to unlock the door and quickly rushed in, dropping my bags and the file on the other seat while I took the driver's seat.

Within some seconds, I pulled my car into the road and burst through the highway, racing down to my pack.

I'm Amelia Sabastian, an orphan who became the top one neurosurgeon in the whole of the town. I studied medicine with the help of the orphanage after my parents were found dead and grew up with a foster grandmother. Since I was a very good and brilliant specialist, who spent my life working hard, I got a job at the biggest hospital owned by 3 packs as it was being named. My hospital was built in the middle of the three packs after they reconciled after a long time of separation.

The three Alphas of the pack were close friends and dealt with different businesses such as owning a school, oil company, hospital, and lots more that would benefit their packs. However, their main focus was the hospital since it was one of the best hospitals in England with great specialists.

The company had won different awards both from the packs and the human world because they were also known to humans as well as they have patients from the human world.

Thankfully, I was one of the great specialists and was also tagged the best neurosurgeon in my field of study. It was not so easy but I am so proud of myself.

I let out a heavy sign and played some songs from my stereo playlist as I sang and jigged along with it, driving peacefully home since the highway was cool with lesser noise.

Crossing the border of my pack, I felt so good to be back home. It's been a month since I left the pack since I was so occupied with lots of work. Even when I was given some days off, I still used them at work but that very night I was determined to go home to see grandmother. Grandmother was my biggest win and I hate to hear her cry out to me, wanting to see me. Although, she also gave me time to sort out myself but most times love to see me around.Just when I was driving through a narrow path, almost getting home, I lifted my face to a motorcycle rider who was coming right in front of me. Staring deeply into his eyes, I felt the electric spark between us. "My mate?" I gasped out loud when I discovered I had finally found my mate after many years of waiting for him.

I got lost in thought as he approached me, without the knowledge that I had lost focus of the road. But before I knew what was happening, I found my car swirling as I tried hard to control the wheel but I couldn't and it went dangling into the pack woods. I let out a scream of fright knowing the accident wasn't going to end well. Surely, I knew the day I find my mate will be the day I will face death.

I drove my motorcycle out of the mansion with the thought of going to a restaurant to find something to eat. I have just returned from New York where I went to study medicine for seven years and that day was the day I finished all my program and also was the day I decided to return to the country on a late flight. So, by the time I got home, everyone was already asleep and I was extremely hungry after my trip.

Crossing the path that led to the restaurant that I knew would be available at that time of the day, I saw a car driving at a very high speed. I wondered who was driving so recklessly at that time of the day so I shifted my gaze from the road to the owner of the car to see who was driving. Fortunately for me, my eyes met with the one person I have never thought I would meet at that time of the day. I felt the electric spark vibrate all through my entire body and I knew confidently that I have found her, I have found my precious mate.
