Trapped in her own home, she is forced to pay off her father's debts through a deal with him, by pretending to be his vampire fiancée who was just recently assassinated, in order for him to find out the truth behind her death. A dead fiancée with whom she strangely shares an exact resemblance, despite being completely human herself. Pulled into a world she is not accustomed to, Cassimira finds that she has inherited enemies who would stop at nothing to keep her quiet over a secret she knows nothing about. To keep her father alive, she must play this dangerous role and remain attached to a man who is just as cold as they come, but little did he know that petite Doctor Cass was just as wild and daring, and she would not be submitting so easily to anyone. Donna Brooks works as the personal secretary to Keith Preston, an Alpha wolf, ruthless CEO of Ortho Speare, and the most feared man in Hontari City. Cold, demanding, and dangerously charismatic, Keith is a boss few can endure. Yet Donna remains at his side longer than anyone else ever has, drawn to him in ways she refuses to admit… while Keith keeps her closer for reasons of his own. Her carefully controlled life shatters when Jeremy Xiu, her ex-fiancé who vanished seven years ago, returns as a powerful Vampire Lord and the CEO of Ortho Speare’s biggest rival, The Aviary. Jeremy arrives obsessed and determined to reclaim the woman he never forgot. But his wife, Cheryl Declan, elegant, unhinged, and fiercely possessive, will burn the entire city before she lets a human secretary destroy her marriage, one she desperately needs to hold on to. And she’s not the only threat Donna faces. Keith’s rejected Luna, the woman he cast aside, has sworn vengeance, convinced Donna is the reason the Alpha ended their bond. She brews a shadowy rebellion within the pack, and his enemies believe striking Donna is the fastest way to break him. Yet even amid political warfare, pack betrayal, and vampire madness, Keith refuses to let Jeremy reclaim what he once abandoned. The Alpha and the Vampire Lord want the same woman, but Donna wants to survive. As wolves and vampires close in around her, Donna realizes they are no longer hunting her alone. Their eyes are turning toward Alix, the daughter she has spent years hiding from the supernatural world, because the most terrifying truth isn’t who Donna really is… It’s who her child might become.
