The world is divided into three realms: the Heavens, ruled by the Pure Moon Goddess; the Mortal Realm, home to twelve wolf packs ruled by the Alpha King; and the Infernal Realm, where merciless werewolf demons live under the rule of three powerful triplet alphas. For three years, the Mortal Realm has maintained peace with the Infernal Pack by sending a royal bride every year. But none of the brides has ever returned alive. Each one is eventually found dead outside the Infernal Palace, leaving the true cause of their deaths a terrifying mystery. This year, the Alpha King's decree falls upon the Moonshadows pack. The chosen bride is the Alpha's illegitimate daughter, but shortly before the triplet alphas arrive to claim her, the illegitimate daughter is brutally mistreated by her stepsister and stepbrother. Fearing that the demons will be angered by the bride's injuries, her father prepares to protect his beloved legitimate daughter. Watching her family panic at the thought of her stepsister's death, the Aria the illegitimate daughter realizes something heartbreaking: if her stepsister dies, everyone will mourn her, but if she dies, nobody will shed a tear. Instead of allowing her stepsister to be sacrificed, she steps forward and offers herself in her place. For the first time, the three demon lords personally come to collect their bride. But when they see the heroine, they realize she is not the woman they were expecting. Yet something about her presence unsettles them. As she enters the mysterious Infernal Palace, Aria discovers that the deaths of the previous brides may conceal a much darker secret. The three triplet alphas begin questioning who she really is—and why the Moon Goddess appears to have marked her. What begins as a sacrifice may become the key to an ancient secret capable of changing the fate of all three realms.

Chapter 1

The Bride They Chose

There were three realms in our world.

Above everything stood the Heavens, where the Pure Moon Goddess ruled over the wolves and watched over the balance between the realms.

Below the Heavens lay the Mortal Realm.

It was home to twelve powerful wolf packs, each ruled by an Alpha, but all twelve packs ultimately answered to one ruler—the Alpha King.

And beneath the Mortal Realm was the place every wolf feared.

The Infernal Realm.

The realm of demons.

The Infernal Pack was ruled by three brothers.

Triplets.

Three werewolf demons who possessed enough power to make even the strongest Alpha tremble.

They were known as the Triplet Alphas.

The wolves of the Infernal Realm were merciless.

For generations, the Mortal Realm had feared them.

Then, three years ago, the Alpha King made a terrible agreement.

To keep the peace between the Mortal and Infernal Realms, one royal bride would be offered to the demon triplets every year.

It sounded like a sacrifice.

Because that was exactly what it was.

The first bride never returned.

Neither did the second.

Neither did the third.

Before each year was over, the bride's body was found hanging outside the Infernal Palace.

No one knew what happened inside.

No one knew how the brides had suffered.

Three brides.

Three princesses of Alpha blood.

Not one had lived long enough to return home.

And now, the fourth bride had been chosen.

My name is Aria.

I am the illegitimate daughter of Alpha Marcus of Moonshadow Pack.

And I had been chosen.

When the Alpha King's messenger arrived, my father didn't look at me with sadness.

He looked at me with relief.

As though the decree had finally given him a reason to get rid of the daughter he had never wanted.

"You will leave in three days," he told me.

I lowered my head.

"Yes, Father."

I had expected fear.

Instead, I felt empty.

I had spent my entire life being unwanted.

Perhaps being sent away was simply another way of telling me that I had never belonged here.

But I didn't know that my fate would change before those three days were over.

It happened the following afternoon.

My stepsister and stepbrother cornered me inside one of the palace corridors.

"You really think you're going to become important because you're going to the Infernal Palace?" my stepbrother asked.

I said nothing.

My stepsister stepped closer.

"You've always been jealous of me."

"I'm not."

She slapped me.

My head turned with the force of it.

Then my stepbrother grabbed my arm.

The beating that followed left my body aching.

When they finally walked away, I remained on the floor.

I touched my swollen cheek.

Blood stained my fingertips.

I didn't cry.

But someone had seen me.

My father.

His expression changed the moment he saw my injuries.

Not because he was worried about me.

Because he was terrified.

"The demons cannot see you like this."

I looked at him.

"Why?"

He paced across the room.

"If the Triplet Alphas believe Moonshadow Pack deliberately sent them an injured bride, they could destroy us."

There it was.

Even now, his greatest concern wasn't me.

It was the pack.

Then his eyes moved toward my stepsister.

His legitimate daughter.

She immediately shook her head.

"Father, no."

"You will go instead."

Her face went white.

"But she's the one chosen."

"That no longer matters."

My heart went still.

He had chosen me because I was the daughter he could afford to lose.

Now that I was injured, he was willing to sacrifice someone else.

My stepsister began crying.

She looked at me.

"I regret hurting you."

I didn't answer.

"If I hadn't beaten you..." she whispered, "I wouldn't have to go."

Her tears fell faster.

"I would still be safe."

I looked at her.

For the first time, I understood what was happening.

Everyone was afraid of losing her.

Because she was the legitimate daughter.

The beloved daughter.

If she died, my father would mourn her.

Her mother would mourn her.

Her brother would mourn her.

The entire pack would remember her.

But if I died?

Who would cry for me?

No one.

I looked down at my bruised hands.

Then I made my decision.

The next morning, the entire palace gathered to receive the Triplet Alphas.

And for the first time in history, they came themselves to collect their bride.

The enormous doors opened.

Three identical men walked into the hall.

The temperature seemed to drop.

Every wolf lowered their head.

My father bowed deeply.

"My lords."

The three demon brothers said nothing.

Their eyes moved across the room.

Then they stopped on my stepsister.

She stood in a white gown.

The replacement bride.

My father stepped forward.

"This is my daughter."

I watched silently.

Then I took one step forward.

"Wait."

My father's head snapped toward me.

"Aria."

I kept walking.

My heart was pounding, but I didn't stop.

"I will go."

My stepsister stared at me.

My father looked furious.

"You don't know what you're saying."

"I know exactly what I'm saying."

I stopped in front of the three demon alphas.

The tallest one looked down at me.

His eyes were cold.

"You?"

I nodded.

"I was the bride chosen by the Alpha King."

I glanced at my stepsister.

"But my father changed the arrangement."

One of the triplets narrowed his eyes.

"And now?"

I took a deep breath.

"Now I will take my place."

The three brothers exchanged a look.

For some reason, that look frightened me more than their anger would have.

Then the middle brother spoke.

"Interesting."

I didn't know why.

But something told me that the moment I stepped forward, I had changed more than my own fate.

I had changed theirs too.

Chapter 2

The Demon Lords

The three demon lords stared at me.

For several seconds, nobody in the hall moved.

I could hear my own heartbeat pounding in my ears.

I had expected anger.

Perhaps even laughter.

Instead, the three brothers looked at me with an unsettling silence, as though my presence had created a problem they hadn't expected.

The first brother stepped forward.

He was the tallest of the three, although they were nearly identical in appearance.

His dark eyes moved over my bruised face before settling on my father.

"You said this was your daughter."

My father bowed his head.

"Yes, my lord."

"Your legitimate daughter?"

My father's hesitation answered before his words did.

"No."

The demon's gaze returned to me.

"Then explain."

My father swallowed.

"She was the bride originally selected by the Alpha King."

A murmur moved through the hall.
