Isabella’s pov

I walked into the big hall in the packhouse where my Alpha husband was hosting a little party, he was half naked and wasted from drinking.

He was swaying his hips to the music playing, alongside his first love Gina. Her hands were around her neck while they locked eyes, dancing like they were the only ones in the room.

She is around my age but we looked so different, being an Alpha stand out in the room, tall, small boobs and bottom and curvy hips like a model.

A stubby omega like be with big breasts and derriere could never match up to her standard of beauty, not to any male in this pack, not even to my own husband.

I could see the glow on his face as they danced around the room, he had never been like this with me. Well, I wasn't expecting that he married me when my rich omega merchant father had offered him riches to do so.

Everyone else in the room seemed to be having the time of their life, afterall it was the end of the Lunar year’s party. People who have time and do not have to run the pack’s businesses like me get to be here.

For some reason, the other pack members started to notice I was in the room, they started whispering loud enough for me to hear them but they were probably too drunk to even care that I was there.

“You look unusual.” One Beta female commented on my body and the rest of her friends chuckled aloud.

“How is she built like that, big boobs, big *ss, she even has a flat stomach! I have never seen anyone look like that.” Another one of them said to me

I just sent cold gazes at all of them, they were not worth my time and responses anyway.

“Bella!” My sister-in-law called out as she walked toward me, she is no different from these girls. She is in fact, the reason why I had developed a protective shield and learned not to react when I was being body shamed by other people

“Zara,” I softened my gaze at her.

“How do you know this lady, Zara?” The girls questioned her and she chuckled lightly.

“You girls are so silly, this is my brother’s trophy wife. Could you not tell from the way she looks?” She sized me from head to toe while he said that. “She is big from all the food she consumes.”

As expected she referenced my body.

“Are you the Alpha’s wife? The one he refused to make the luna of our pack?”

“Stop that Ava, you are being mean to my sister-in-law.” She said to her friend but she wasn’t truly scolding her, they were all mocking me.

She then faced me, “I will ask my brother to let you come to more of these events instead of being cooped up in his office with paperwork so the pack members know what you look like so they don’t treat you this way in the future,” She chuckled.

This was her little way of announcing that I was just a slave wife for the Alpha, tending to all of his work instead of socializing and hosting tea parties with the wives of the elders and their children in the high society.

An omega like me that doesn’t deserve to be the Alpha’s wife has no right to dream about that type of life.

I returned her gesture with a small smile. That was going to get on her nerves because she was always trying to get a reaction and words out of me but she never got them from me, this night was not

“You must be enjoying the dance going on,” She sneered at me, clearly wanting me to notice her brother and his first love.

“Of course, the Alpha has to relax while someone else is doing his job. I’m glad someone else is taking care of him in my stead.”

Her eye roll confirmed that my satire was on point and she walked away from me almost immediately.

“Nice to meet you, Ms Alpha, not so Luna.” One of the girls sniggered at me before they scurried after Zara.

The music came to a stop and everyone stopped. Thankfully, Zara and her minions were off my back, I quickly made my way to where my husband was.

I could not tell if he knew I was behind him or not, he pulled Gina closer to him. My back was burning hard from the stares I was getting from everyone.

What was I thinking when I climbed on this stage? I blamed myself but this was not the time to lose face.

I cleared my throat, Gina who was originally backing me, turned to see who it was, as soon as our eyes met, a weird frown formed on her face.

Unlike the other girls in the pack, she knew who I was and of course she hated me.

“Zayn.” I called out to my husband with a sour smile on my face, and I thought how I could possibly get him out of this place.

He squinted his eyes as if he could not see me clearly, “Bella, why are you here? You should be working,” he said in a slurry tone then he kissed Gina on her forehead, something he had never done to me. “Gina, meet Bella, she is the brain of this pack’s finance, she is a big business brain just like her father, don’t underestimate her because she is fat. She is excellent with numbers.”

He smacked his lip together, giving a chef's kiss.

“Party’s over for you, Zayn. Let’s go home.” Times like this always made me wish he marked me so I could, mind link with him and be able to say these words to him. I canopy dare say them to his face because I had no power or control over my own husband.

“Your chauffeur will be in ten minutes, don’t miss out on your bed time.” I tugged at my gown and made my way out of the hall.

Your husband is going to love you, Bella. I am giving him the best woman any man could ask for, I bet he would make you happy and treat you like a queen for the rest of your life.

Those were the assuring words my father said to me when he was giving my hands in marriage to Zayn. But that was not the case.

My husband has not for once failed to rub it in my face that he had married me for the talent my father had passed to me and he emphasised that my major duty as his wife is to improve the pack’s finances.

Zayn walked in quietly while I was sorting some paperwork for the importation of cotton as summer is approaching. The pack’s merchant house needs to restock on wool and hasten the production at the factory so that the pack member will be able to purchase lighter clothes for the season.

“You are back at work again.” He said with a smile on his face, “I know I can always rely on you, Bella.”
